BLACKPINK: Group and Solo Recognition
BLACKPINK is nominated alongside BTS for Favorite Music Group. Rosé is in the running for Favorite Female Artist, while Jennie is nominated for Favorite Music Collaboration for “Dracula,” her song with Tame Impala. It’s a good reminder that the members’ solo careers are thriving alongside the group.
KPop Demon Hunters: Five Nominations
The animated hit scored five nods, the biggest K-pop-related haul of the year:
- Favorite Animated Movie for the film itself
- Favorite Song from a Movie for “Golden,” the soundtrack’s smash hit
- Favorite Female Animated Voice for Arden Cho, who voiced Rumi
- Favorite Male Animated Voice for Ahn Hyo Seop, who voiced Jinu
- Favorite On-Screen Duo/Trio for Arden Cho, Ji-young Yoo and May Hong, the voices of demon hunters Rumi, Zoey and Mira (a brand-new category)
KATSEYE: Breakout Contender
KATSEYE is up for Favorite Female Breakout Artist/Group. Their competition includes ADÉLA, a former contestant on their own survival show, The Debut: Dream Academy. That’s a rare head-to-head between a group and someone who came through the same journey.
Why It Matters?
A kids’ and family-focused awards show recognising this many K-pop names shows how far the genre’s reach has grown. Between global groups, a hit animated film and a group formed through a survival series, the nominations cover almost every corner of K-pop’s international influence.
