Three Rebels, One Port Town, One Ruthless Empire — ‘Isakapatnam’ on Prime Video Is Telugu’s Most Explosive Period Drama of 2026

Port towns carry their secrets in the salt wind — and Naidu’s empire has kept its secrets long enough. Amazon Prime Video has officially announced Isakapatnam — a gritty Telugu original series set in the ruthless 1990s port town of Isakapatnam, where three forces collide against the most powerful man in the region in a story of justice, loyalty, and burning revenge. From the first frame of its announcement, this one has the unmistakable feel of a Telugu crime saga built to linger.

Isakapatnam — All the Key Details

What Is Isakapatnam About?

The official synopsis captures the tension perfectly: “Set in the 1990s, in the ruthless port town of Isakapatnam, three forces collide — a woman driven by justice, a henchman torn by loyalty, and a common man hungry for revenge — each closing in on the empire built by the port’s most powerful man, Naidu”

Three protagonists. Three different motivations. One shared target. The story revolves around the ruthless Naidu who dominates the region as these three individuals rise against his powerful empire — their paths converging in a high-stakes confrontation that will leave none of them unchanged.

The 1990s port town setting adds a rich, atmospheric layer — pre-liberalisation India, where power was raw, rules were unwritten, and the law bent easily for those who could afford it.

A Cast That Means Business:

Strong visuals by Vamsi Pachipulusu and impactful music by Pravin Lakkaraju further elevate the series — two technical collaborators who understand how to make the landscape of crime feel visceral and real.

Aishwarya Rajesh — one of Tamil and Telugu cinema’s most versatile actresses, known for Kanaa, Vada Chennai, and World Famous Lover — anchors the series as the justice-driven woman at its centre. Opposite her, Samuthirakani and Sunil bring exactly the kind of lived-in intensity that period crime dramas demand. This ensemble doesn’t have a weak link.

Director Garry BH — better known as a respected editor on several Telugu hits — makes his directorial debut here, bringing a visual sharpness and economy to the storytelling that only someone who has spent years in the edit suite can fully understand.
