The team lacks quality in their fast bowling, which was evident last season. Though they have Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer, they need more reliable fast bowlers in their squad.The spin department is not strong beyond Kumar Kartikeya and Hrithik Shokeen. They have failed to find a wrist spinner emulating Rahul Chahar’s quality and have signed young leg-spinning prodigy Nehal Wadhere from Punjab, who will find his match in the experience of World Cup winner Piyush Chawla and Mumbai’s left-arm spinner Shams Mulani.

The team is a five-time winner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is led by captain Rohit Sharma. The team has a strong batting line-up with players like Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav.
