Delhi Capitals’, owned jointly by the GMR and JSW groups, were expected to be one of the most successful teams in the IPL due to the city’s status as the capital of India. However, they have failed to live up to the billing, finishing in the top four only thrice in 13 seasons.

The team have a strong and versatile batting lineup consisting of David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rovman Powell. Warner is one of the greatest T20 batters of all time, while Shaw is a talented young batter who loves to go after the bowlers. Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh brings his experience to the table and can also provide at least 2-3 overs. The team’s spin attack is led by Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav.

The team’s regular captain, Rishabh Pant, is set to miss IPL 2023 due to injury, which could hamper their playing XI. Mitchell Marsh is an impact all-rounder, but it remains to be seen if he can deliver some overs for the team. The team may also struggle to make a place for Mustafizur Rahman in the playing XI due to the “four overseas player” rule.
Form
In IPL 2022, the team failed to make it to the playoffs, winning seven out of 14 matches and finishing fifth in the points table.
