What’s Stranger Things’s Story About?
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 is set in the winter of 1985 — snow blankets the town, and the horrors of the Upside Down are finally fading. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into normal life filled with D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days. But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. The heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins once again. The CSR Journal
The story is set specifically during the period when Eleven closes the Hawkins Lab gate — filling in a gap that even die-hard fans didn’t know they needed. It’s untold, it’s nostalgic, and it’s animated in a way that breathes entirely new life into the world we love.
Who’s Behind It?
The spin-off was developed by Eric Robles, with the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen serving as executive producers. Flying Bark Productions handles the animation, while notable voice actors include Odessa A’zion alongside Jeremy Jordan, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Janeane Garofalo lending their voices to key characters. The CSR Journal
This isn’t just a cash-grab spin-off — the fact that the original Duffer Brothers are attached as executive producers signals that this will feel authentically Stranger Things in every way that counts.
Stranger Things is the Emmy-nominated Netflix sci-fi horror drama created by the Duffer Brothers, which became one of the most-watched series in Netflix history since its debut in 2016.
