Harry Kane transfer news: Bayern Munich to return with €93m offer after opening bid rejected

Harry Kane transfer news: Bayern Munich have had an opening offer worth €70 million rejected for Harry Kane. The Premier League club are holding out for a higher fee to even open talks over a move – which could be in the region of €93 million.

Bayern want Kane to help force a move from Tottenham, while Daniel Levy remains adamant that any bids for him will be rejected.

With only one year left on his contract, Spurs are attracting interest from clubs all over Europe for Harry Kane. However, they remain adamant that they don’t want to sell him.

Should they be unable to sell him this summer, they will lose him on a free transfer next summer without a renewal. As a result, it is a tricky situation for Spurs since they haven’t been able to agree a new deal with him as of yet.

Harry Kane transfer news: Should Kane push for an exit?

The England captain is one of the best strikers in the history of the Premier League. He has cemented that feat by becoming the second-highest scorer in the competition, and the number 1 goalscorer in Tottenham history. But, in spite of his unparalleled scoring figures, he has not won a single trophy.

And a move to Bayern would surely fix that void in his career so far. But in doing so, he would probably miss out on breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time scoring record.

More importantly, Spurs are a team in shambles right now, without European football as well. And with the rest of the team in need of improvement, it would be unfair to Kane to spend the peak of his abilities rebuilding Tottenham after all that he has done to make them a top club.

With Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City all turning away from a move, Bayern might be his last option to escape the sinking ship that is Tottenham right now.

Harry Kane transfer news: Why are Bayern in the race for him?

Following the departure of Robert Lewandowski last summer, Bayern Munich need a world class centre-forward. They have had the services of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, but were without him for the last part of the season due to injury. As a result, they were unable to play at the levels that were expected from the team.

This summer, they are focused on signing a prolific number 9 that will be able to return them to their former glory. Bayern finished the season as the winners of the Bundesliga once again, but the title was decided by goal difference. And in the coming season, they will be hoping to win more convincingly. As a result, the presence of a world-class striker is essential to their success.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has been deemed too expensive, while a move for Randal Kolo Muani has also not materialised. Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Harry Kane from his time at Chelsea, and is keen on working with him in Bavaria.
