Gullak Season 5: Everything at a Glance

What’s New in Season 5?

The new season of Gullak will follow the Mishra family as they face new challenges, moments, and playful arguments. The trailer suggests that the house gets freshly painted and the household finally has a wi-fi connection.

Progress, Mishra-style. One router at a time.

The parent dynamics are shifting, too. Santosh Mishra (Jameel Khan) is still counting pennies and obsessing over electricity bills, but Shanti Mishra (Geetanjali Kulkarni) finds herself pushed into an unfamiliar spotlight — adapting to a hyper-connected world and tracking her reactions to the sudden online popularity of her neighbour, the iconic “Bittu ki Mummy.”

The Big Cast Change: Annu Has a New Face

Due to alleged creative disputes, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who played Anand “Annu” Mishra in earlier seasons, left the show before Season 5.

The role of Annu will now be portrayed by actor Anant V Joshi. Speaking about joining the show, Joshi said that Gullak always held a special place in his heart, adding that the Mishra family reminds him of countless Indian households. He called it a privilege to join the cast.

The recasting has naturally sparked online debate — but the early reviews suggest Joshi settles into the role with warmth and authenticity.

What the Critics Say

Gullak Season 5 proves that great storytelling doesn’t need high stakes or shocking twists. With heartfelt performances, relatable family moments, and the same warmth that made audiences fall in love with the Mishras, it remains one of India’s most comforting and consistently enjoyable web series — earning a strong 4 out of 5 stars.
