Galaxy S26 Ultra: As Samsung gears up for the launch of its next-generation flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, camera enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting to see if the upcoming device would feature a dual 200MP camera setup. However, new reports suggest that this may not be the case.

Despite early rumors suggesting a dual 200MP configuration, the latest information claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will stick to a single 200MP sensor—similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The reason? Chipset limitations.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Rumors: What’s Changing?

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2: The Limiting Factor?

The heart of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. While this chipset supports a single camera with a resolution of up to 320MP, it seems to lack the capability to handle dual 200MP sensors simultaneously.

According to renowned tipster @PandaFlashPro, sources indicate that Samsung is testing the Galaxy S26 Ultra with this Snapdragon variant, and unfortunately, the chipset’s limitations have led to the decision to retain a single 200MP sensor instead of experimenting with a dual setup.

Exynos 2600: Was It Even Considered?

Some fans might be wondering whether Samsung considered using its Exynos 2600 chipset to overcome this limitation. However, current rumors do not mention any testing of the S26 Ultra with an Exynos variant. All indications suggest that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 remains the preferred SoC for this flagship device.

What Can We Expect from the 200MP Sensor?

Although the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature just a single 200MP camera, Samsung is reportedly introducing variable aperture technology to enhance its performance. This will add flexibility to the camera, allowing users to adapt to different lighting conditions and capture sharper, more detailed images.

Is Fewer Cameras a Downgrade? Not Necessarily!

While a reduction from four to three rear cameras may seem like a step backward, Samsung is likely focusing on improving the overall camera performance. With a high-resolution 200MP sensor and variable aperture technology, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to deliver superior results despite having fewer lenses.

S Pen Bluetooth Might Make a Comeback

Good news for S Pen lovers! The Galaxy S26 Ultra may bring back Bluetooth functionality for the S Pen, allowing for more convenient control and additional features for productivity.

When Will the Galaxy S26 Ultra Launch?

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026, following the company’s usual release timeline. As always, it’s best to take these early rumors with a grain of salt until official announcements are made.

What to Expect from the Galaxy S26 Ultra

Although the Galaxy S26 Ultra may not feature a dual 200MP setup, Samsung is focusing on refining the camera experience with a powerful 200MP sensor and variable aperture technology. Add to that the return of S Pen Bluetooth functionality, and the S26 Ultra is shaping up to be a worthy successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
