Two childhood rivals, one piano bench, and a friendship no one saw coming — that’s the heart of tvN’s newest coming-of-age drama.
Four Hands, Two Sonatas follows Kang Pio (Song Kang) and Choi Jeong Yo (Lee Jun Young), two piano prodigies who first faced off as kids in a competition. Their paths split hard: Pio thrived at an elite arts high school, while Jeong Yo quit music entirely to pay off his father’s debts. Episode one ends with a twist — Jeong Yo unexpectedly transfers into Pio’s school, setting the stage for round two.
Newly released stills from episode 2 show their teacher, Do Hyun Soo (Kim Joo Hun), assigning them a “four hands” piano piece. The catch? They haven’t played together since a spontaneous jam backstage seven years ago. What follows is pure charm — practice sessions full of easy smiles, an impromptu street performance for a crowd, and a quietly telling subway photo of Jeong Yo resting on Pio’s shoulder.

The two haven’t played as a pair since that one backstage moment years ago, so this assignment is as much an emotional reunion as a musical one. Whether their old spark translates into a polished performance — or a few nerves along the way — is exactly what makes episode 2 worth tuning into.
