Marvel has been dropping hints, but now it’s officially confirmed — the most powerful hero in Avengers: Doomsday isn’t Thor or Professor X. It’s a toddler. Yes, really.
According to the Fantastic Four: First Steps – The Art of the Movie artbook, Marvel Studios producer Grant Curtis confirmed that Franklin Richards possesses “limitless potential,” calling him one of the most powerful beings in the entire Marvel Universe.
Who Is Franklin Richards?
Franklin is the son of Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) from Fantastic Four: First Steps. In the comics, he grows up to become an omega-level mutant so powerful that even the universe-creating Celestials consider him their equal — able to warp reality and reshape the Multiverse at will.
We already got a taste of his abilities in First Steps, when baby Franklin literally brought his mother back from the dead.

Why Does Doctor Doom Want Franklin?
Here’s where it gets interesting. The post-credits scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps showed a hooded Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) seemingly abducting a toddler-aged Franklin. The prevailing theory? Doom wants to use Franklin as a living engine to power his Multiversal conquests — jumping realities and “pruning” out-of-timeline variants across the Marvel Multiverse.
It’s a chilling concept: the most innocent being in the MCU weaponized by its most calculating villain.
