What Is Exam About?

The official synopsis is both gripping and devastating: “A determined young woman with a mysterious past enters the dangerous world of the RPSE scam to expose a powerful paper-leak racket. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a corruption chain embedded deep within the education system — and must bring it down before it destroys the dreams of an entire generation.”

Paper leak scams are not fictional in India — they are an epidemic. The series digs into the human cost of systemic corruption in competitive government examinations, following one woman’s dangerous pursuit of truth through a network that reaches far higher than a few rogue officials. Every question sold, every dream crushed, every family that sacrificed in vain — Exam gives all of that a face, a story, and a reckoning.

The Creative Team Is As Powerful As the Story:

A. Sarkunam is one of Tamil cinema’s most respected social realists — the filmmaker behind Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Komban who has consistently found the human story inside systemic struggle. Writing and directing Exam himself means this story has a single, deeply committed creative voice behind it.

Pushkar and Gayatri — the creative geniuses behind Vikram Vedha, Vadhandhi Season 1, and some of the finest Tamil crime content of the last decade — serve as creative producers. Their involvement in both Exam and Vadhandhi Season 2 signals Prime Video’s serious commitment to building premium Tamil original content that competes on a global stage.

Dushara Vijayan — the fierce, formidable actress known for Jagame Thandhiram and Saani Kaayidham — is exactly the right actor to anchor a character who enters a criminal ecosystem alone and refuses to leave until the truth is out.
