FC Barcelona revealed that the May 11th match between Real Madrid and the team will take place at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (Montjuic). The upcoming El Clásico 2025 match will be hosted at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (Montjuic) stadium because Spotify Camp Nou undergoes ongoing renovations.

This upcoming El Clásico 2025 matchup will reach unprecedented levels of excitement because LaLiga and Champions League competition has reached its peak.

Why Is El Clásico Being Played at Montjuic?

The Spotify Camp Nou stadium at Barcelona works on comprehensive renovations through the Espai Barça project to modernize club facilities. The renovation delays at Camp Nou have pushed Barcelona to remain at Montjuic until May 20, 2025, instead of returning to host their last season matches at their home stadium.

Barcelona must continue playing their league matches at Montjuic because both their fixture against Villarreal on May 18 and their El Clásico match on May 11 will occur there. The temporary stadium at Montjuic will host the Champions League semi-final matches if Barcelona qualifies regardless of their previous Champions League round. The dates for these matches are set for April 29-30 or May 6-7.

The Unique Setting of Montjuic

The facility known as Montjuic operates as the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys and it remains situated in Barcelona. The 1929 International Exposition served as the reason for its construction until a 1992 Summer Olympics renovation was required.

The Montjuic venue stands apart from Camp Nou because it provides fans with an exclusive and close-up stadium experience. The venue already presented many Barcelona matches this season to its 55,000 capacity and it delivers a fresh experience for fans as well as players.
