Edin Dzeko could be on his way out of Roma

Roma captain Edin Dzeko could be on his way out of the Italian capital after the player had a fight with the manager following a game against Spezia. In the fallout of this altercation, Dzeko has decided to sit out of training with the first team and is absolutely not happy with the situation at hand.

The striker is arguably Roma’s most important player, and is also their highest paid player with a salary worth €7.5 million per season. Providing an update on the Here We Go podcast on Patreon, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio compared the situation with Dzeko at Roma to that of Papu Gomez at Atalanta.

Gomez, the former Atalanta captain, had a fight with Gian Piero Gasperini which eventually resulted in him leaving the club and joining Sevilla. With recent rumours potentially linking Dzeko and Inter Milan’s Alexis Sanchez to be exchanged on a swap deal, we could be seeing the departure of another club captain.

Dzeko only recently signed a new contract with the club that saw him extend his stay till 2022. Apart from the Alexis Sanchez rumours, there are no other clubs interested in a striker having Dzeko’s profile right now.

Rumours have been circulating around Spurs and West Ham looking at the player, but that is false and both the clubs aren’t interested in him.
