Chelsea place fixed price tag for Romelu Lukaku: To be sold in summer 2024

Chelsea have fixed an exit fee for Romelu Lukaku next summer, with a valuation of £37 million set for the permanent departure of the striker. The Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan in the summer of 2021 for a fee in excess of €100 million.

But, his time with the blues quickly came to a standstill after the infamous interview where he said he wanted to return to Inter Milan. A rift with then-manager Thomas Tuchel also did him no favours, with fans eager to see Lukaku out of the club.

The Belgian was loaned back to Inter Milan in 2022, but his performance in the Champions League final and subsequent negotiation with Juventus closed the door on a permanent return to the Nerazzurri. Roma have now signed the striker, and he has been doing very well under Jose Mourinho, scoring seven goals so far for the Giallorossi.

It will be interesting to see whether Roma are able to pay the £37.5 million price tag Chelsea have set for Lukaku. But so far, they have received a positive return on investment with the forward, who was signed to cover for the injured Tammy Abraham.

Saudi Arabian clubs could also circle for the player, but Lukaku snubbed multiple offers from them this year, and it could be the same next year too.
