Ajay Devgn just rewrote his own record book. Drishyam The Conclusion collected an estimated Rs 61-62 crore nett on its opening day, according to the trade estimates. It’s the biggest first day of Ajay Devgn’s career, and the trade is already calling the film a blockbuster.

Drishyam The Conclusion Day 1 : Overview

Detail	Info
Day 1 collection (est.)	Rs 61-62 crore nett
Previous best for Devgn	Rs 40.50 crore (Singham Again, 2024)
Rank among Bollywood openers	3rd highest ever
Ahead of it	Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Rs 75 crore nett), Jawan (Rs 64.50 crore)
Weekend forecast	At least Rs 165 crore nett, likely Rs 170-175 crore
Lifetime outlook	Rs 400 crore nett plus

How It Compares?

The numbers speak for themselves. The film comfortably beat Singham Again, Devgn’s previous best opener, by more than Rs 20 crore. It also becomes the third-highest opening day for a Bollywood film, behind only Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Jawan.

The comparison with Dhurandhar: The Revenge needs a note. Including paid previews, that film opened at Rs 115 crore nett, which puts it in a league of its own. Without previews, it’s closer to the Drishyam numbers.

Where the Film Worked Best?

Top metro centres led the way, with Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Pune posting huge numbers. In Delhi-NCR, the film even surpassed Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s opening day business without previews. The Delhi-UP circuit may end up setting a record, depending on final figures. The Mumbai circuit will likely fall short of its record, partly because of weaker numbers in Gujarat.

Why It Opened So Big?

Thrillers don’t usually deliver massive openings, but Drishyam is different. It’s a well-established brand with strong family appeal, which widens its audience. The national holiday also helped, taking an expected Rs 40 crore day to over Rs 60 crore.

What About the Weekend?

The film is on track for a big three days. Saturday looks good for Rs 50 crore nett plus, with further growth expected on Sunday. The trade expects at least Rs 165 crore over the weekend. Weekday numbers will decide how high it ultimately goes.
