If there’s one thing Deepika Padukone has always made clear, it’s that she doesn’t slow down easily. Just two days after announcing her second pregnancy with husband Ranveer Singh, she was back on set — dressed in white, taking on a high-octane fight sequence with none other than Shah Rukh Khan. And honestly? That’s very Deepika.

According to a Mid-Day report, Deepika reported to the Golden Tobacco Studio in Vile Parle on April 21 — just days after the pregnancy announcement on April 19. A specially constructed set was built for the occasion, and the two stars filmed a hyper-stylised fight sequence over two days, joined by eight other performers. Director Siddharth Anand has also reportedly planned an additional action set piece in a sandy backdrop at a Mira Road studio, to be shot at a later date.

A Reunion Worth the Wait
This is SRK and Deepika’s first collaboration in years, and the pairing alone has set fans buzzing. The two share remarkable on-screen chemistry — something audiences have celebrated ever since their earlier films together. Deepika’s role in King has been a subject of much curiosity, especially with recent speculation about her part in Allu Arjun’s Raaka potentially being trimmed due to the pregnancy. King, however, seems to be firmly on track.

It’s also worth noting that in Indian cinema, leading actresses continuing to work during the early stages of pregnancy is not unusual — many have done so while maintaining careful coordination with their production teams on scheduling and safety.
What Makes King One to Watch?
With Siddharth Anand at the helm — the director responsible for War, Pathaan, and Fighter — King is clearly being positioned as a large-scale action spectacle. Add Shah Rukh Khan returning to the action genre that gave him some of his biggest recent hits, Abhishek Bachchan as the villain, and Deepika in an action-forward avatar, and this Christmas 2026 release has blockbuster written all over it.
