Crunchyroll Manga Launches in India: 250+ Titles, Ad-Free Reading and the Rs 299 Ultimate Fan Plan Explained

If you’ve ever finished an anime episode and wondered “what happens next in the manga?”, Crunchyroll has just answered that question for Indian fans. Crunchyroll Manga has officially arrived in India, bringing more than 250 titles to one app alongside the anime you already stream. For a country where manga reading is already huge, this is a big moment.

Crunchyroll Manga India : Overview

What Exactly Has Launched?

Crunchyroll announced the expansion during closing remarks at its first Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum in New York City, where President Rahul Purini revealed that Crunchyroll Manga is now live in select English-speaking international markets, including India. The idea is simple: one destination where you can read manga from leading publishers and then jump straight into the anime adaptation on Crunchyroll, or the other way around.

Which Manga Can You Read?

The launch library includes some genuinely popular names. Titles such as The Apothecary Diaries, My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock!, Bungo Stray Dogs, Delicious in Dungeon, Lycoris Recoil, Sasaki and Miyano, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill and Konosuba are all available, with many more on the shelf. Everything comes in localized English.

More is on the way too. Crunchyroll says additional titles and publishers will follow, including fan-favourite action series from VIZ Media. If you’re waiting for the big shonen names, that’s the update to watch.

What Do You Get With the Subscription?

Reading is unlimited and ad-free across mobile, tablet and web. Beyond that, the service offers offline reading, full two-page spreads, personalized reading lists and curated recommendations. You can also move seamlessly between a manga and its anime adaptation, which is arguably the biggest selling point.

The Ultimate Fan membership also includes Crunchyroll’s anime streaming, so you aren’t paying separately for each. Your membership works on up to six devices, which makes it easy to share across a household. The platform is powered by Link-U Group, one of Japan’s leading digital manga service developers, in which Crunchyroll recently announced a minor investment.

Why India, and Why Now?

The numbers explain the timing. According to Crunchyroll’s research, 81% of Indian anime fans read digital manga at least monthly, and 56% do so weekly, putting India among the leading markets globally for digital manga engagement. Across 11 markets surveyed, 69% of anime viewers read digital manga monthly or more, and Crunchyroll users are 1.4 times more likely than non-users to read digital manga weekly.

Crunchyroll Chief Content Officer Asa Suehira said fans have asked for years to bring manga closer to their Crunchyroll experience, and described anime and manga as deeply connected. Since debuting in the US and Canada in October 2025, the manga library has grown to more than 450 titles from partners including Kodansha, Shueisha, VIZ Media and others, so the Indian catalogue still has room to grow.

Is It Worth It?

If you already watch anime on Crunchyroll, the Ultimate Fan tier is an easy upgrade to consider, especially at Rs 999 for a year, which works out to roughly Rs 83 a month. Casual fans who only read occasionally might wait until the VIZ Media titles arrive. Heavy readers who love exploring series beyond what the anime covers will likely get the most value.
