From Cover Drives to Boardrooms: Why Virat Kohli’s LinkedIn Debut Is a Bigger Deal Than You Think

Virat Kohli has scored a new kind of milestone. The cricketer has joined LinkedIn, and he isn’t there for highlight reels. He’s there to talk about building businesses, leading teams, and shaping India’s sports industry.

If you follow cricket news on Technosports, you know Kohli’s influence has long stretched beyond the boundary rope. This move makes that official.

Why Is Kohli on LinkedIn?

Kohli will share his work beyond the field as co-founder of one8 and investor at Agilitas Sports. His focus is on how sport and business overlap, and he will draw on nearly two decades of elite international cricket to cover:

• Leadership and team building
• Decision-making under pressure
• The discipline needed to sustain performance

What Is Agilitas Sports?

Agilitas is building a vertically integrated sports and active lifestyle company. It covers the full chain: product development, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and brand building. The goal is to create Indian sporting brands with global relevance.

Kohli’s investment reflects a simple belief: India’s sporting future depends not just on athletes, but on the industry built around them. For more on this shift, explore our sports business coverage.

one8: Where the Athlete Meets the Product

one8 is central to that ambition. Kohli is directly involved in shaping its high-performance and active lifestyle products. He brings an athlete’s eye to function, design, and finish, the details that separate gear that looks good from gear that performs.

In Kohli’s Words

“If the intent is right and you genuinely care about what you’re building, people feel that.”

He added that he wants to create “Indian brands that people can wear with pride,” and hopes what he builds will “outgrow all of us.” It’s the same mindset that drove his on-field career: care deeply, prepare relentlessly, build for the long run.

What LinkedIn Says?

Kumaresh Pattabiraman, Country Manager, LinkedIn India, described Kohli as part of a new generation of leaders who build beyond a single career and pursue excellence in all of them. By sharing his entrepreneurial journey, Kohli is expected to inspire India’s 185 million LinkedIn members and professionals worldwide.

Why It Matters?

Athletes are increasingly becoming founders and investors, and Kohli’s move signals that Indian sport is maturing into a full industry.
