The Mega Family Unites Again — Chiranjeevi’s Mega158 Officially Goes on Floors With a Blockbuster Team

Telugu cinema just got a whole lot more exciting. On May 21, 2026, Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated 158th film — currently going by the working title Mega158 — was officially launched with a grand pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. And the way the Mega family showed up for it made the event feel like a celebration in its own right.

Chiranjeevi is one of the most iconic figures in Telugu cinema history, and every new project from the Megastar naturally becomes an event for fans across India. Mega158 is no different — and this one comes with serious pedigree.

Mega158 — Everything Confirmed So Far

Pawan Kalyan Gives the Ceremonial Clap — and the Internet Reacted

The launch event turned into a full-blown Mega family affair. Chiranjeevi’s younger brother and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan gave the ceremonial clap to officially start the film — a moment that had fans going wild online. Naga Babu was also present to bless the project. Notably, Ram Charan was absent from the event, though his participation had been anticipated.

Having Pawan Kalyan give the clap isn’t just a formality — it’s a statement. When the Mega family assembles like this, it signals just how significant this project is for everyone involved.

A Reunion Fans Have Been Waiting For

Mega158 marks the reunion of Chiranjeevi and director Bobby Kolli, the duo behind the 2023 blockbuster Waltair Veerayya. That film was a certified mass entertainer, and the combination clearly still has a lot of heat. Fans who loved the energy of that collaboration have every reason to be excited about what comes next.

On the music front, Thaman S — one of the most in-demand composers in South Indian cinema right now — is back with Chiranjeevi, a pairing that has a strong track record. Behind the camera, Vijay Kartik Kannan handles cinematography, with Avinash Kolla on production design — a technically strong team all around.

Cast Highlights

National Award-winning actress Priyamani is reportedly playing a significant role opposite Chiranjeevi. Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan, who caught everyone’s attention with her debut in Champion, is said to play Chiranjeevi’s daughter in the film — and has apparently already earned praise from both Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan for her work ethic and screen presence.

The production banner KVN Productions makes their Telugu debut with this film, having previously backed big-ticket projects including Toxic with Yash and Jana Nayagan with Vijay. Regular shooting is expected to begin soon.
