Vishwambhara vs Jailer 2: Are Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth Headed for a Dussehra Box Office Battle?

Big news for South cinema fans — Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s long-awaited fantasy epic Vishwambhara may finally be gearing up for its grand theatrical debut, and the timing couldn’t be spicier. Reports suggest the film is eyeing an October 16, 2026 release — the same festive window rumored for Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. Two icons, one date. Could this be the clash Tollywood and Kollywood have been waiting for?

Vishwambhara vs Jailer 2: What We Know So Fa

Vishwambhara marks the first collaboration between Chiranjeevi and Bimbisara director Mallidi Vassishta. The film has taken its time reaching screens, largely due to the heavy VFX demands of its fantasy-epic scale. According to trade sources, a Dussehra release is now firmly on the cards — though the makers haven’t made an official announcement yet.

Why This Clash Matters

A Dussehra face-off between two legendary stars would be massive for the industry — doubling festive footfalls, splitting screens, and fueling fan-war buzz across social media. It wouldn’t be the first time big South releases have jostled for the same date, and if both films lock in October 16, expect distributors and multiplexes to have their hands full managing the frenzy. Until an official confirmation drops, this remains buzz — but with Dussehra being a proven blockbuster season in the South, don’t be surprised if both camps hold their ground rather than budge.
