If you needed a reason to tune into a new K-drama this week, this is it — because the first meeting between Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin in “Sold Out On You” is exactly the kind of slow-burn, head-on-collision romance we live for.

“Sold Out on You” is a romantic comedy about the unexpected love story between Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo Seop), a perfectionist farmer juggling multiple jobs, and Dam Ye Jin (Chae Won Bin), a top home shopping show host who suffers from severe insomnia. Opposites, clearly. Destined for each other, absolutely.

What Makes Sold Out On You Special?

The First Meeting Scene That Everyone Is Talking About

Matthew Lee is a meticulous and hard-working farmer who is also the CEO of a natural ingredient company and a cosmetics development researcher — and he owns the only farm in the world that grows a rare white flower mushroom hailed as a “miracle ingredient” in the beauty industry. Think of him as the reluctant gatekeeper to something everyone desperately wants.’

Newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming first episode capture the memorable encounter: sporting a straw hat and a towel draped around his neck, Matthew Lee drives his tractor down a single-lane country road — only to be stopped by a bright red sports car heading straight toward him. Behind the wheel is Dam Ye Jin, who glares at Matthew Lee when he simply refuses to back up and let her pass.

It’s a tractor versus a sports car. A quiet countryside man versus a city powerhouse. And somehow, neither blinks first. The chemistry was electric before a single word was exchanged — and that is the magic of a well-crafted romantic comedy setup.

Dam Ye Jin desperately needs his rare white mushrooms to secure a contract with a famous beauty brand — which means she’s going to have to figure out a way to deal with this incredibly stubborn farmer. This push-and-pull dynamic is already setting up for an irresistible watch.
