The Story: Revenge, Power, and an Unlikely Alliance
The drama follows Gu Qingzhi, sole survivor of her family’s massacre, who awakens under the identity of Shen Xihe, Princess of the Northwest. Once a spirited frontier rose, she transforms into a calculating political strategist determined to control her own fate. Her path collides with Crown Prince Xiao Huayong — frail in appearance but razor-sharp in mind — and what begins as mutual calculation slowly evolves into genuine trust as the two navigate court conspiracies together.
Why Fans Are Excited
The series reunites Meng Ziyi and He Yu, who previously played star-crossed lovers in 2025’s Duel on Mount Hua: Nine Yin True Sutra — a pairing that’s generated major buzz ahead of release. The production also brings together crew members behind acclaimed dramas like Story of Yanxi Palace and Love Between Fairy and Devil, giving it a strong pedigree beyond its source novel’s existing fanbase.
