Lionel Messi excepts to be out for a little while after a calf injury but promises Barcelona would “fight again for everything”

Lionel Messi will not travel to the United States with the Barcelona squad this week after sustaining a calf injury in the training.

The Argentina star suffered a grade one strain during training on Monday and will stay in Catalonia to recover. It was Messi’s first training session since his return from holiday following the Copa America in Brazil.

Barcelona confirmed in a statement: “Messi withdrew from the session due to discomfort in his right leg. Tests carried out have diagnosed a Grade 1 calf strain for the Argentine.”
There is no time frame for his recovery but it is unlikely he will be definitively ruled out of Barca’s LaLiga opener against Athletic Bilbao on 16th August.

Messi injury

Messi wrote on Instagram: “I was looking forward to starting and unfortunately I had an accident in the first training session that will leave me out for a little while.
I’m grateful for all your messages and displays of affection, I wanted to be with the team and with the people who follow us in the USA. It wasn’t to be this time, but we’ll see each other again soon. A hug to everyone.”

Ahead of Barcelona’s match against Arsenal in the Joan Gamper Trophy, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi addressed the home crowd on Sunday. He said: “It’s hard to say something after last season, but I don’t regret anything. But I have no doubt that together we are going to fight again for everything.
We won eight league titles in 11 years. We do not give it the value it deserves but over the years we will see how difficult it was. This club fights for everything and this year will be no different.
We have renewed dreams. Visca Barca and Visca Catalunya!”

Messi

Ainsley Maitland-Niles had a night to forget as his own goal and a Luis Suarez volley helped Barcelona to a 2-1 victory over Arsenal in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Monday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked to have teed himself and the Gunners up for the new Premier League season in style with a fine first-half goal.

Lionel Messi has been handed a 3-month Argentina ban by CONMEBOL

Messi was sent off, along with aggressor Gary Medel, after an altercation as Argentina beat Chile 2-1 in the competition’s third-place play-off last month.
After the match, Messi did not appear with his team-mates to collect a medal, sparking questioning from reporters. Messi explained his snub of the ceremony as not wanting to “be part of this corruption, this lack of respect towards the whole Copa”.

Messi red card

He also suggested that the referees and the VAR would favour Tite’s men against Peru in the final, which the Selecao eventually won 3-1.

As punishment for his outbursts, Messi is to serve a three-month suspension from Friday’s announcement, ruling him out of Argentina matches until November. That means he will miss friendlies against Chile, Mexico and Germany, while Messi has also been fined $50,000.

Barcelona will face Napoli in Miami and Ann Arbor this week in the final stretch of their pre-season duties. And they will begin their LaLiga title defence away to Athletic Bilbao on 16th August.

Bayern Munich are on the verge of signing Manchester City winger Leroy Sane

According to widespread reports, Bayern Munich are finally going to sign Germany international Leroy Sane from Manchester City.

According to a report by France Football on Monday afternoon, Sane will join Bayern Munich in a deal worth around €110m in the coming days. If this transfer really happens then this will be the biggest transfer of Bundesliga. The current transfer record of Bundesliga is held by Bayern Munich when they signed Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid for €80m just three months ago.

It is also reported that Sane has already agreed a five-year deal at the Allianz Arena and the 23-year-old will earn €18m-a-year, which will see him surpass Robert Lewandowski as Bayern’s highest-paid player. As it seems, he will inherit the No. 10 shirt left vacant by club legend Arjen Robben.

Sane

Manchester City paid £46.5m to sign him from Schalke in 2016 and he burst on to the scene in the 2017-18 campaign with 10 Premier League goals and another 15 assists as he won the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Sane, now 23, was restricted to just 21 league stars last season but still returned an impressive 10 goals and 10 assists.

However, he fell out of favour towards the end of the season and was left out of the starting XI for a number of big games as Pep Guardiola’s side went on to win the domestic treble. Guardiola has always maintained he would like to keep him at the Etihad but softened his stance slightly when asked about the situation on Friday.

Sane and Guardiola

Guardiola said: “I know the rumours exist. I want players who want to stay. The player didn’t tell me anything, that’s the reality. He is our player and we want him to stay.”
Sane had been in talks to sign a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of next season. “We tried to extend the contract for more than a year, we were quite close a month ago but now it’s a bit different. I cannot say anymore.” Guardiola added.
This thing may hint that a transfer to Bayern Munich is on the cards.

According to Kicker, Niko Kovac’s men are also eager to sign Sane’s brother Sidi from Schalke, where is part of their Under-17 side. Sidi is 16-year-old and plays as a centre forward at youth level for the Gelsenkirchen outfit.
This could be a clever ploy from the Bundesliga holders to tempt the elder brother to the Allianz Arena by offering him the chance to link up with his brother. But whether or not that will be enough to tempt Sane into moving or City into selling remains to be seen.

Sane

Even before considering the pull of Bayern Munich for any German player, it makes the appeal obvious. Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery riding off into the sunset mean the Bundesliga kings need a main man now to lead them into attacks. That would be Sane who, for all his gifts, will never enjoy similar status under Guardiola. So this status could prove to be a tempting factor for Sane to move into the Allianz Arena.

Former Bayern manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has urged his former club to do all they can to get a deal over the line. He said: “With this transfer, Bayern would send a clear signal to the competition – especially internationally. If you want to strengthen yourself, you have to take a lot of money in the hand. And after the Bayern end of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, the club simply needs a player in the category Sane.”

Sane

A prospective move for the 23-year-old was cast into some doubt on Sunday when he hobbled out early from City’s Community Shield win over Liverpool with an injury. But now the transfer is expected to go through in the coming days and, as things stand, City are unlikely to sign a replacement before the Premier League transfer window closes on Thursday.

Borussia Dortmund have won the 1st title of this season

Borussia Dortmund won the DFL-Supercup by beating Bayern Munich 2-0.

Jadon Sancho was the star of the match. He provided an assist for Paco Alcacer and then later scored a goal himself to beat Bayern 2-0 and clinch the first title of this season – DFL-Supercup.

Bayern Munich were outthought and outmanoeuvred on Saturday, with Dortmund looking in great shape ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

Dortmund came out on top in the second half as they played with much more intent. Sancho picked his moments perfectly to make an impact in the match. His run for Alcacer’s goal was exceptional, while he showed stamina, pace and composure to double the advantage.

Sancho

For Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer did have a good game. Despite conceding twice and nearly giving a goal away as he rushed out to meet Alcacer on the halfway line, the German made a string of excellent saves to keep the scoreline down and Dortmund at bay.
For Niko Kovac’s men, the result was a reminder that they have areas in their squad to improve and they will no doubt increase their efforts to land the young winger and long term target Leroy Sane from Manchester City.

Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, go some way to make up for their 5-0 capitulation to Bayern in April, which eventually costed them the Bundesliga title. They now go into the new Bundesliga season buoyed by winning the first silverware of the campaign.

Barcelona to pull Neymar out of his misery with a one-year loan deal

NEYMAR has edged closer to a Barcelona return on a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer next summer.

Reports in Spain claim the Brazilian star, 27, is on the brink of heading “home” with Barca in “advanced talks” with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal.

Neymar Jr.’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain seems to be growing worse by the day. The Brazilian didn’t look very happy or excited as Paris Saint-Germain lifted the Trophee des Championes after defeating Rennes 2-1 thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria.

But the French giants are holding firm on their valuation of him, and are apparently demanding £160million – still £38m less than they originally paid for him in 2017.

After Barcelona forked out £108m on Antoine Griezmann, it looked near impossible for them to fund a deal for Neymar as well.

Now as per the latest reports, the Brazilian might just finally get his wish before the transfer window is over. Barcelona has been struggling to convince Paris Saint-Germain to accept a cash + player deal as they’re short on funds after splurging heavily on Antoine Griezmann.

Neymar has been fighting to get back to the Nou Camp all summer as his relationship with the Parisien club has reached the breaking point. Neymar left the Nou Camp for PSG in a world-record £198million deal in the summer of 2017.

While the transfer deadline in England is August 8, teams in France and Spain have until September 2.

Everton have signed Juventus teenager Moise Kean

Everton have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Juventus striker Moise Kean.

Moise Kean is one of the most highly-rated young attackers in Italian football. He scored six times in 13 Serie A appearances for the Old Lady last season, at an impressive rate of 1.01 goals per 90 minutes played.

Kean

Everton had been heavily linked with a move for the Italy international in recent weeks, and have now completed a deal worth £29 million, that could eventually rise to £37 million if certain add on clauses are met.

Everton boss Marco Silva was delighted to have brought Kean to England. Silva told the club’s official website: “A striker was one of our priority signings this summer.
Moise is strong, fast, with many good qualities as a striker and he is just 19 years old. He has talent and he is ready to work, ready to improve our squad and gives us different solutions.
Of course, he was at a big club, now he’s come to another big club and is ready to fight for this challenge and to give everything to Everton Football Club.”

Kean becomes Everton’s fifth signing of the summer, joining Andre Silva, Fabian Delph, Jonas Lossl, and Jean Philippe-Gbamin as part of Marco Silva’s squad.

Kean

Moise Kean said: “I am very proud and honoured to wear the Everton shirt. I will give my best to this team. I was convinced to sign because Everton is a club looking to the future and so am I. I know about the size of the club. It has big ambition and I will work very hard to help us fulfill what we want to achieve.
I am used to winning and I want to bring this winning attitude to the team. I hope I will be very good on the field and bring the fans joy.”

The Italy international has signed a five-year contract at Goodison Park and joins a club who finished eighth in the Premier League last season but hopes to give a fight for a top four or six finish this season.

Intel announces 10nm Ice Lake-U Processors at older Whiskey Lake SKU prices

Recently Intel officially launched their 10nm Ice Lake mobile CPUs in the market. This 10nm CPUs were assigned to be available years back with the name of Cannon Lake. Intel had faced a lot of difficulties in reaching this phase and in this process fans and enthusiasts got disappointed.

Until a few days back, 10nm was still a question for everyone because there were times where Intel really talked of it but not really made it official. From the first half of 2019, Intel seemed aggressive considering the fact that its competitor is now making impressive CPUs at lower prices.

These 10th Gen Intel Core processors shift the paradigm for what it means to deliver leadership in mobile PC platforms. With broad-scale AI for the first time on PCs, an all-new graphics architecture, best-in-class Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) and Thunderbolt 3 – all integrated onto the SoC, thanks to Intel’s 10nm process technology and architecture design – we’re opening the door to an entirely new range of experiences and innovations for the laptop.

Chris Walker, Intel corporate vice president and general manager of Mobility Client Platforms in the Client Computing Group

At the Computex, Intel talked a lot about their mobile CPUs and about the future of them. Now, finally these CPUs are live and soon we expect them to be available commercially via laptops and notebooks.

Intel finally launches 10nm based 10th-Gen Core Processors codenamed Ice Lake CPUs

The main highlights of these CPUs are:

  • lower TDP
  • up to 18% IPC improvements
  • revolutionary Intel Gen11 Iris Plus graphics
  • much more efficient and packed with features

Though being clocked at lower clock speeds these CPUs manage to beat the previous-gen, thanks to the 10nm process and significantly larger L1 and L2 cache.

There are two categories of these CPUs: the U-series for laptops and Y-series for thin and light notebooks. Both of these ranges have CPUs stacking from 2 cores/ 4 threads to 4 cores/ 8 threads.

The Y-series 10nm CPUs have a base TDP of just 9W and the U-series have 15W only. The L3 cache memory ranges from 4MB to 8MB along with support for WiFi 6 and Thunderbolt 3 support for all the CPUs.

We see a total of 5 Y-Series CPUs ranging from Core i3-1000G1 all the way to Core i7-1060G7, on the other hand, there are a total of 6 U-series CPUs from dual-core Core i3-1005G1 to quad-core Core i7-1068G7.

Also, there’s the powerful Gen11 iGPU with frequencies ranging from 0.9GHz to 1.10GHz. So these processors also let you game with the inbuilt GPU at low or medium settings, finally a worthy iGPU family from Intel.

The Iris Plus graphics on the G7 and G4 CPUs feature 64 execution units (EUs) and 48 EUs respectively while the G1 now has only 32 EUs which was previously seen with Intel UHD graphics.

“10th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris Plus graphics make a reality gaming in 1080p and higher-level content creation, like 4K video editing, quick application of video filters and high-resolution photo processing on the go.”

The use of Sunny Cove microarchitecture helps further to increase the throughput. Due to the architectural improvements, Intel says the Gen 11 graphics delivers up to one teraflop of 32-bit and two teraflops of 16-bit floating point performance without consuming much power.

Intel finally launches 10nm based 10th-Gen Core Processors codenamed Ice Lake CPUs

These CPUs have lower base clocks as well as lower boost clocks but the AI and architectural improvements along with the improved 10nm process make these CPUs powerful and productive.

The Core i7-1060G7 has been priced at $426 quite similar to last gen’s i7-8565U which was priced at $409. Coming to the i5 variant, the Core i7-1035G1 has the same price of $297 of the last gen’s i5-8265U.

Though Intel’s listed price might look cheap as these are from the revolutionary 10nm architecture, so OEMs might hike the charges of the laptops bearing these CPUs.

Also, Comet Lake CPUs with 14nm architecture will be launched soon so it will be interesting to see how the laptops are priced along with performance and specs that they will bear.

Realme will unveil a 64MP quad-camera smartphone on August 8.

Back in June, Realme first teased its 64MP quad-camera smartphone. The company didn’t give us a date then, but it appears the phone’s development is nearing completion as Realme has announced a “Camera Innovation Event” on August 8 in the Indian capital New Delhi where it will reveal more about its 64MP quad-camera technology.

Realme has launched dual-camera smartphones – the 3 series and the X, and with them, one of the cameras is a depth sensor. It doesn’t have a triple camera smartphone, so launching a quad-camera smartphone would indeed be a giant leap forward.

Details are scarce about the camera configuration right now, but we are hopeful that Realme will throw in telephoto and ultra-wide-angle modules to accompany the 64MP main sensor. The fourth module will likely be a depth sensor unit.

We reached out to Realme for more information about this 64MP quad-camera smartphone and were told that the phone is still under development, but we believe it will be unveiled by the end of this quarter or the beginning of next.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing the Ajax starlet Donny van de Beek

Real Madrid have now dropped their interest in Paul Pogba and are on the verge of signing Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.

According to Marca, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Van de Beek over a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. But the report also says that Madrid’s move for Van de Beek would not close the door for Pogba.

Pogba himself is open to joining Real Madrid, but Manchester United will not compromise on their €180m asking price for the midfielder. The price tag has put Real Madrid off, who are now set to sign the 22-year-old Netherlands international.

Van de Beek

Donny van de Beek told FOX Sports: “Of course I hear stuff like that from time to time. It’s always good to hear, right? But in fact the situation is still the same, even though the media keep telling new stories.
Of course there is interest, but people tend to go way too fast.”

On reportedly being a back-up option in case Madrid miss out on Pogba, he said: “I haven’t heard it being said that way, but it could be. You shouldn’t believe everything you read. There’s always a lot of nonsense. I don’t have to tell you what is true and what isn’t.
I’m focusing on [the match against Vitesse on] Saturday and the rest is up to you guys.”

Ajax coach Ten Hag acknowledged it will be difficult to hold on to Van de Beek if Real Madrid step up their interest. He said: “Of course we don’t want to lose him, so he have to do all we can to keep him here. But when clubs like that come around the corner, it will be very tough.
We did very well last year, so you know players will be wanted. We’re a small football country. It’s just how it works. How important is Donny for us? That’s obvious. He had a mega development. He is extremely important.”

Van de Beek

Real Madrid are said to have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old all summer after the starring role he played in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season and winning the Dutch League.

Van De Beek could be available for as little as €50-60m. He doesn’t quite have the star quality of Pogba just yet, but Van de Beek looks a very tidy player who could well be the final piece of the puzzle for Zidane at the end of what has been a very exciting summer of transfer business.

According to widespread reports, Donny van de Beek – who will sign a five or six-year deal – is reportedly set to join Real Madrid for €50m which presents impressive value.
