The Red team has consistently dominated Intel when its comes to price but lacked in performance a few years ago but things got changed with Ryzen CPUs. Their Zen architecture completely changed the CPU market.
Even though both the Zen and Zen+ did give Intel some hard time but with 7nm based Zen 2 architecture left no competition for Intel. The cost-to-performance ratio for AMD has played a key role in the success of the company who thinks its all due to its chiplet design technique.
Some slides from a recent talk at ISSCC shows how much the Red team exactly saved with this approach, and the results are quite impressive, which ultimately helped the company to give better-performing chips at cheaper costs.
The “chiplet” design is nothing but an approach to taking several smaller dies manufactured on different processes and put them together on one package to improve yields and thereby reduce costs. According to AMD, the chipmaker giant has been successful in reducing costs with this approach by more than half in some cases.
In the ISSCC (International Solid-State Circuits Conference), AMD did reveal that on TSMC’s 7nm process that the cost to manufacture a 16-core monolithic die i.e. the Ryzen 9 3950X is more than double that of a multi-die CPU which is based out of AMD’s chiplet design concept.
If there are lower amount of cores, like up to 8 cores, the chiplet design savings aren’t that great but when it jumps to 16 cores, the costs can be more than halved. AMD presented an 8-core CPU split between a 7nm CPU die and a 14nm I/O die which can reduce the cost approximately by 25%.
After AMD’s success, Intel will be implementing chiplet design in a new direction with their stacked Foveros design announced back in 2018. The slide that depicted the costs of implementing a monolithic EPYC CPU with up to 64 cores could have been beyond expectation.
Thanks to the chiplet design, AMD has cut down costs on a huge scale and racked up the performance in every sector including desktop, HEDT, laptops and servers as well. Making faster CPU affordable is ultimately helping us improve our daily lives, thanks to AMD.
We know how much power the Ryzen 4000 CPUs are and what AMD has done with its Zen 2 architecture and when they claim that they have made the most powerful mobile gaming APU and they have said it knowingly, wary of their sole competitor.
Intel’s new Comet Lake mobile gaming CPUs are coming soon and we have some leaks regarding them and they suggest that they will have a hard time on the laptop front as well after losing out in the desktop market.
The tipster @TUM_APISAK has shared a Geekbench 5 results, comparing the AMD’s flagship against Intel’s 9th Gen gaming CPU i.e. the Core i9-9980HK and the Intel’s upcoming Core i7-10750H, all of them have the same TDP of 45W.
The AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with all its 8 cores and 16 threads scored a massive 1,196 and 1,198 in two different single-core benchmarks and did manage to score 8,370 and 8,390 points in two multi-core benchmarks.
The i7-10750H only has six cores and with it has managed to score 1,258 points while the i9-9980HK gets to 1,248 points in the single-core test. But having 1,198 points, the AMD Zen 2 Ryzen 4000 APU is in the striking distance of both the Intel CPUs.
In the multi-core test, the Ryzen 7 4800H has no competition at all, scoring 8,370 points and 8,390 points whereas, the 6-core i7-10750H lags behind with 6,437 points and the 8-core i9-9980HK chip scoring 7,268 points.
AMD has come to a long distance to fight with its primary opponent and with its revolutionary Zen 2 architecture, AMD has just left Intel far behind. In the laptop market, with the Ryzen 4000 APUs, AMD will make its mark, giving cost-effective high performing processors for consumers worldwide.
It is worth noting that AMD Ryzen 7 4800H is just inches behind the competition in the single-core tests which can be improved with proper tuning and cooling solutions even though its costs will ultimately help consumers better gaming experience at lower prices and in multi-core AMD still has no competition at all.

He further added: “I think I’m more of a complete footballer than I was a few years ago. I’ve had some good years in my career but I think either side of the ball, mentally, leading a team. I’m better now than I was two or three years ago. I think I’m doing really well and I feel comfortable and happy with the way I’m performing.”

Setien has beaten Real Madrid twice at the Bernabeu while he was the coach of Real Betis, and he expects those experiences to help him this weekend. He said: “Yes, of course. We’ve looked back at some of the games played before – the game Barca played last year, the game Betis played last year.”
“You tried to pick out things that could be useful. We certainly want to play with a daring team tomorrow – Madrid will, I’m sure, do likewise. We are a team that always plays the way we do. I’ll do something similar to what I did with Betis and with Las Palmas, now with Barca. I like a daring team.
“Whether things work out, let’s wait and see. You have to remember that Madrid are a very, very good team. You might think they are not at their best at the moment, but I’m not trusting to that kind of thing. You need to be ready for games like this – when we’ve got the ball and when we do not.”

All the matches will be played on 13th May in order to “contain and manage the epidemiological emergency that is COVID-19.”

“That’s what we’ll do. But like I said, as an owner if you want to bring these players in than we have a great opportunity.”

Arsenal were stunned by Olympiacos in the 2nd leg of the Europa League. Arteta’s men were improving day by day but this Europa League knock out will prove to be fatal for their confidence.

Aubameyang told BT Sport about the miss: “I don’t even know. I feel very, very bad. This can happen. I don’t know how I missed this chance. I was tired and I had some cramps as well, but it is not an excuse. I have to score this goal, but it can happen.”
He further added: “What can I say? It’s very, very hard, very tough. It was a tough game again. I think we missed putting some pace in the game – that cost us a little bit. Then the last-minute goal was unlucky for us. That’s it.”
“We try to keep improving in the league and we’ll try to win as many games as possible, and we’ll see how many chances we have to qualify [for the Champions League].”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told BT Sport: “It hurts a lot. We had a lot of intentions in this competition. It was very important for us. Emotionally it has been a very difficult game. MediaTek has been busy this season launching some great budget gaming and high performing SoCs. To strengthen its budget SoCs, the Taiwanese manufacturing giant has launched another new SoC named Helio P95 which comes under the very successful Helio P series.
Being the OEM’s latest 4G/LTE chipset, the Helio P95 does have some impressive connectivity specs, including Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, as well as Cat. 12 download speeds; Cat. 13 upload speeds; 4 x 4 MIMO; ViLTE; VoLTE; Band 71 support and dual 4G SIMs.
It boasts to feature an AI Processing Unit (APU) 2.0, which according to the OEM will improve it’s benchmarking in this area compared to its predecessor by 10%.
Talking of raw hardware specs, the Helio P95 consists of 2 Cortex-A75 performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz for handling daily tasks.
It packs an Imagination PowerVR GM 94446 GPU that promises 10% improvement over the previous generation and enhanced gaming performance. The chip can support displays up to 2520×1080 resolution.
The Helio P95 can capture impressive high-resolution photos at up to 64MP and dual camera arrays of up to 24+16MP. MediaTek’s unique triple ISP can now handle up to 14-bit RAW and 10-bit YUV processing.
The SoC offers some great camera features including “AI-NR” low-light photography mode; 5-person human pose tracking; multiple objects- and scene-identification, efficient hardware depth-engine and AI-camera processing.
It supports H.264, H.265 / HEVC video encoding and playback with max RAM support up to 8GB that too dual-channel LPDDR4x RAM clocked at 1866MHz and supports UFS 2.1 storage. Notably, the SoC also supports 4K video capture with up to 3840 x 2160 resolution.
Then there’s MediTek’s proprietory HyperEngine Game Technology that helps the processor to handle CPU and GPU resource allocation more intelligently and dynamically. It also improves the power efficiency for better battery life while gaming.
Also, there are other MediaTek HyperEngine connectivity enhancements are on board, alongside the in-house CorePilot, Pump Express, Tiny Sensor Hub, and Integrated VoW (voice on wakeup) technologies. Soon we can expect smartphones featuring the Helio P95 SoC.

The Galaxy M30s is an update to the Samsung Galaxy M30 which was launched earlier this year. This new smartphone packs in a 6,000mAh battery which is its highlight feature. We were impressed with the AMOLED display on this smartphone as it was crisp and had good viewing angles. The 6.4-inch display also got bright enough when outdoors.
Samsung has picked the Exynos 9611 SoC to power the Galaxy M30s which is the same processor powering the Galaxy A50s, There are two variants of the Galaxy M30s, 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. The processor isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon 675 SoC but is on par with the Snapdragon 710 SoC.
The Galaxy M30s has a triple camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. We were happy with the camera performance of the Galaxy M30s however, it was slow to focus while shooting macros. Video recording tops out at 4K but lacks stabilization. On the other hand, videos shot at 1080p were stabilized.
