“POCO FOR INDIA”: New smartphone coming soon

0

POCO has just completed its two years anniversary yesterday and has released three minutes commemorative video portraying India in various ways in that video. It represents how the company serves Indian customers and more importantly this video also revealed the launch of an upcoming smartphone. In the video around 1:28 seek markwe can clearly see: “The next Poco for India” followed by a “Coming soon” message.

It is anticipated that POCO M2 Pro, which is surfacing on different renders and different certification websites for some past few days, can be the upcoming budget-friendly smartphone the company is going to launch. Previously we have discussed that it will be a more budget-friendly smartphone.

POCO again leaves us with another choice- POCO F2 Pro. It was launched last month globally with this name, but the company’s CEO Chandolu Manmohan mentioned that it won’t make its way to India as a member of the F2 series.

POCO is also stepping in the making of wearable devices and is developing a TWS earphone that may be called POCO Pop Buds as decided by fan voting. POCO India had already tweeted about its ongoing development but still has not completed yet, but we expect some news really soon or maybe the company is planning to launch both the gadgets at the same time.

HP was the top Notebook vendor in Europe for Q1 2020, followed by Lenovo & Dell

0

According to Canalys’s latest report, the top Notebook vendor in Europe for the Q1 2020 was HP, grabbing a market share of 26.4%, which is almost one fourth of the total notebook sales in Europe, which is great in fact, in spite of the COVID-19 affect.

The global pandemic has slowed down every sector so far and in Q1 2020, most of the companies have seen decreased sales. Likewise, we see HP having 8% decrease in market share on a YoY basis, although it seems the brand as got some competition from Lenovo and Dell as they have grown on YoY basis.

As the work-from-home trend is now active, online sales have increased and office requirements including notebook sales have seen a spike for the last couple of months as well. This might have helped Lenovo and Dell to gain 5% and 6% market share on a YoY basis, with Lenovo grabbing 26% market share, just missing the top spot by a fraction and Dell with just 13% share.

It might even be possible their products are being liked more by customers considering the fact that both the brands have strong business-oriented laptops including Lenovo’s ThinkBook, ThinkPad series or Dell’s newer XPS 13, 15 & 17 series with the latest hardware. Until the exact sales figure of the notebooks aren’t revealed it’s hard to say the exact reason.

Overall, PC sales might see a decline but as this work-from-home trend is to continue throughout the year 2020, the notebook sales might not be that much affected, most of which will be better known in Q2’s report as in Q1 we had some active months before lockdown.

Google faces $5 Billion Lawsuit for Tracking Users Even in Incognito Mode

Were you thinking why some adds are being shown related to what you might have searched while browsing on Google’s incognito mode? This surely has happened to you several times and but you ignored this assuming it as a mistake. But this time Google is facing a $5 billion class-action lawsuit in the US over allegations that its Chrome web browser collected user information even in Incognito mode. Yes, you have read it correctly and as mentioned Google has been interfering with consumer’s data even while browsing in Incognito mode.

The complaint is filed in a federal court in San Jose, California. It claims that Google gathers data for analytics purposes, whether users click on Google-supported ads and regardless of whether the browser is set to ‘Incognito’ mode, or private browsing. The lawsuit also seeks at least $5,000 of damages per user for violations of US wiretapping laws, as well as local privacy laws in California. “Google tracks and collects consumer browsing history and other web activity data no matter what safeguards consumers undertake to protect their data privacy”, the plaintiffs allege.

Incognito shutterstock website Google faces $5 Billion Lawsuit for Tracking Users Even in Incognito Mode

In this serious matter Jose Castaneda, a Google spokesman, said: “We strongly dispute these claims, and we will defend ourselves vigorously against them”. He also added, “…As we clearly state each time you open a new incognito tab, websites might be able to collect information about your browsing activity”. Thus Google has clearly denied the allegations and claimed to defend themselves in every way possible. Mr. Castaneda also defended by mentioning that some websites might still access browsing data even in new tab of Incognito mode.

It is already known that private browsing mode doesn’t mean you’re up to something nefarious. Incognito mode in Chrome and Private Browsing in Firefox gives you the choice to surf the internet without your activity being logged, it is not the magic potion for complete digital anonymity. Because ISP (internet service provider), Government, several websites might still track based on your MAC Address, IP address, browser agent, device ID, and other identifying factors.

Baichung Bhutia is optimistic about India playing in the FIFA World Cup

India, the country with the second-largest population has somewhat failed to produce football stars except a very few. This fact is quite surprising considering the fact that people in India are very passionate about football. But it seems things are finally gonna change for the better.

The advent of Indian Super League in 2013 has paved the course for professional football in India. It has attracted various footballers from around the globe to come and play in India. The hype surrounding ISL is enormous. Many more youngsters have taken to football, dreaming about playing in the ISL with international stars.

baichung bhutia

Former India captain Baichung Bhutia also shares the same view about ISL helping to build Indian football. He said during a live chat with Sportskeeda: “It [ISL] has definitely contributed to the growth of Indian football. A tournament like ISL is good because we get to watch Indian players every week and they are getting coached by some of the best coaches in good infrastructure at their clubs.”

“They get to compete with a lot of good foreign players and that has definitely helped the Indian team. They are tactically more aware of the shape they are playing in and their tactical positions. They are more confident whenever they go to play against a foreign country.”

Indian football is taken steps in the right direction. India hosted the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017. The Indian youngsters got a massive opportunity to play in the World Cup stage with football stars like Jadon Sancho and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Baichung Bhutia is optimistic that India can one day play in the FIFA World Cup. He said: “You never know. Nothing is impossible. If North Korea can play in the World Cup, it’s not entirely impossible for a country like India to play in the World Cup.”

“You are not gonna play the World Cup just by sitting, a footballing culture needs to be cultivated in India. The younger parents are now concerned about their kids playing sports and the coronavirus can change people’s attitudes towards maintaining health, staying fit and playing sports.”

Sunil Chhetri, the current face of Indian football is getting older day by day. So, Bhutia has chosen Sandesh Jhingan and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu as the ones who could lead India in the future.

Baichung Bhutia would also love to be the president of AIFF one day in order to take India football to new heights. He told: “I would love to be the president of the All India Football Federation one day. In future, if there is an opportunity, I will consider it but I am not ready right now.”
