September onwards there will be a new brand name on team India jerseys. Chinese mobile-maker Oppo, which had made a winning bid of about Rs 1,079 crore for the jersey rights in March 2017. For a period of five years, will make way for Byju’s, the Bangalore-based educational technology and online tutoring firm.
The development took place around two weeks ago and Oppo will be seen on the team India’s jersey only till the end of the forthcoming West Indies series. Once South Africa’s tour of India in September commences, Byju’s will take over the jersey. According to sources, “work is already in progress” on that front.
“Basically, what Oppo has done is cut its losses.”
BCCI will continue to receive the same amount from Byju’s and technically will be at no loss for the entire duration of the deal, which runs up to March 31, 2022, said a BCCI source.
Byju’s, founded by Kerala-based entrepreneur Byju Ravindran, is valued at around Rs 38,000 crore after its latest tranche of funding concluded recently. It is being seen as “just the right kind of player to enter this space”, said industry sources.
Think & Learn Pvt Ltd – Byju’s parent company – had received seed funding in 2013 to get started. As of the present financial year, it is learnt to have secured funding in excess of $750 million from global investors, including the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative.
Oppo’s winning bid in 2017 worked out to Rs 4.6 crore per bilateral match and Rs 1.56 crore per ICC or Asia Cup match. This was a massive increase from what previous rights holders Star India Pvt Ltd had been paying the BCCI.
In the previous deal, Star had paid the BCCI Rs 1.92 crore per bilateral and Rs 61 lakh per ICC and Asia Cup game.
Incidentally, when Oppo replaced Star in 2017 with the winning bid, its own sister concern Vivo (they’re both owned by Chinese corporate BBK Electronics)came up with the second highest bid of around Rs 750 crore. Vivo also holds the IPL title rights.

World Cup-winning former India captain MS Dhoni has begun his two-month training with Indian Army’s Parachute Regiment.
MS Dhoni requested to take on patrolling, guard and post duties and will stay with the troops in Kashmir Valley.
Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 TA Battalion (Para) for being with the Battalion from 31 Jul-15 Aug 19.
MS Dhoni had applied for the two month holiday far before the World Cup. As he wants to serve his regiment.
MS Dhoni, India’s most successful captain, had made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour.
Dhoni, who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA battalion). He was accorded the honour by the Indian Army in 2011.
MS Dhoni became a qualified paratrooper four years ago. When he completed 5 parachute training jumps from Indian Army aircrafts at the Agra training camp.
MS Dhoni had led India to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
“Just like Dhoni has been one of the greatest servants of Indian cricket, his love for the armed forces is also wellknown. This idea that he would go and spend time with his regiment was in the pipeline for a while but it took a backseat due to his cricketing commitments.”
“This will also help increase awareness among the youth about the armed forces and that is what Dhoni wants,” the source said.
Earlier, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman had made himself unavailable for the West Indies tour. India will be playing three T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches beginning August 3.
Ever since the culmination of World Cup in the UK where India reached the semi-finals, speculations have been rife about Dhoni’s retirement. The team management has asked him to hang around as they groom Rishabh Pant with an eye on the 2020 World T20 in Australia.

Galaxy Note 10 will be another masterpiece from the brand.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is less than two weeks away from going official, but ahead of the launch, Flipkart and Samsung’s official Twitter has begun teasing the arrival of Samsung’s next flagship.
Additionally, a tonne of new details have surfaced regarding the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Plus duo, such as battery capacity of the two phones, display size and resolution, colour and storage variants, etc. The latest leak claims that the Galaxy Note 10’s updated S Pen will come with air gesture support and that the front camera will also support Night Mode for low-light photography.
We’ve seen plenty of renders of the Galaxy Note10 phones, but they do a poor job of showing the size difference between the two phones. So, here’s a collection of dummies of the Plus and non-Plus models side by side.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10 will come with a smaller 6.3” and it will revert back to 1080p resolution. The battery on this one will be 3,500mAh. Other than the screen and battery, these two will also have different charging speeds and camera features (the Plus model has a 3D ToF sensor on the back). Unfortunately, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on either model.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10+ will come with a 6.8” screen with QHD resolution. You can’t see it in the photos, but this model will be fairly heavy at 198g (in part due to the 4,300mAh battery).

After Konami steals a long term deal with Juventus, EA Sports to rename the club to Piemonte Calcio for FIFA 20
EA Sports has been well known for its iconic FIFA video game series featuring top-notch world football teams, iconic stadiums and stunning gameplay. On the other hand, Konami is well known for its Pro Evolution Soccer series often termed as PES.
The PES series has not been that famous as EA’s FIFA because of the lack of original club partnerships, player tie-ups and lack of various iconic football stadiums. PES had to use similar kind of stadiums and names to compensate with EA’s FIFA.
In the past years, Konami has gradually started investing more and acquired FC Barcelona as its partnered club taking away the iconic Camp Nou stadium from EA Sports. Also their mobile application PES Mobile has been gaining a lot of popularity because of its intuitive gameplay.
Recently Konami has made a big move by acquiring Juventus FC’s exclusive license. Juventus FC is a fan’s favourite team not only because of the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo but also it’s Italy’s best team and one of the world’s best as well.
By acquiring Juventus FC’s exclusive license, Konami can feature original player names, stadium, official kits, crest and more.
“The partnership between KONAMI and Juventus FC provides the eFootballPES series creators with exclusive use of Juventus FC within console football video games, including the team name, crest and official kits. In addition, the development team has been granted in-depth access to the players themselves to recreate their likenesses in the new game as accurately as possible,” says Konami in its announcement.
Konami will be using a full-body 3D scan of original Juventus players to provide the most accurate recreation of their movements. You also get the exclusive Allianz Stadium to play in with original Juventus players.
This will surely hurt EA Sports because the Italian giants were the featured team in last year’s FIFA 2019 and Cristiano Ronaldo was the cover player along with Dybala.
Giorgio Ricci, Chief Revenue Officer commented: “We are particularly proud of the partnership signed with Konami. This agreement sees two global football and entertainment icons, PES and Juventus partnering together for the next three years, and it will allow us to more easily identify with our younger fans, as well as increase our appeal to both sports fans and those of esports.”
Miralem Pjanić has been announced Official eFootball PES Ambassador which means he will be featured on the cover of eFootball PES 2020 and will also be involved in a variety of upcoming activations with Juventus FC and KONAMI throughout the year.
Passionate Juventus fans will now prefer eFootball PES 2020 over FIFA 20 which is expected to debut on September 10th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
Will Piemonte Calcio have the original Juventus players?
Though Juventus brand as a whole will not be a part of FIFA 20’s journey it will still retain the original player names.
EA Sports explained: “Real-world players, including authentic names and faces, will be used in the Piemonte Calcio squad throughout FIFA 20 and FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.”
So key Juventus players like Matthijs de Ligt, Aaron Ramsey and Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing in a different uniform for a different named team.
Apart from the name, outfit and stadium, Piemonte Calcio will strongly resemble Juventus and the Italian giants will be fully incorporated into the game, playable in Kick-Off, Ultimate Team, Career Mode, as well as VOLTA Football.
EA’s value dipped by a whopping £660m within hours of Konami’s big move
According to CNBC, the American publisher’s shares have dipped by 3.28 per cent on Tuesday which costs a whopping £660m for the company.
It is needless to say by seeing this how crucial the FIFA game series is for EA Sports and after losing out a huge team like Juventus FC, it will surely affect the sentiments of gamers as well.
The shares for EA were at £74.46 on Tuesday at 9.30 am UK time and then it fell to £71.42 at 11 am.
EA’s net worth which was £22.76billion on 15th July also got affected and has dropped to £22.1billion according to 16th July.
What are your thoughts on this? Will you be going for the FIFA 20 or the promising eFootball PES 2020? Tell us in the comments below… 🙂
With days gaming on a smartphone has seen huge growth after the advent of PUBG Mobile with which seemingly a new hope of smartphone gaming has aroused. Now smartphone gaming has become a standard gaming platform apart from desktop gaming.
There are big competitions, reputed players, streamers and whatnot, this is driving a big revolution in the smartphone market. Now every reputed smartphone brand has its own gaming smartphone and as we know ASUS, the Taiwan giant is a world leader in the gaming industry, it also owns its own ROG Phone gaming smartphone.
Last year we did get the ROG Phone, and finally after a lot of speculations the successor to the series has arrived – the ROG Phone 2. It was previously thought to be powered by the 7nm Snapdragon 855, which is common in every flagship device these days.
Now talking about the specs of the device, the ROG Phone 2 comes with a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen. It is the first smartphone to feature an AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time.
ASUS did achieve a lot with this device by implementing a 120Hz refresh rate screen from 90Hz, seen on its predecessor that too retaining the AMOLED display. Now the design of the smartphone bears a lot of similarity from the original smartphone having the same premium metal and glass build.
The grip of this device is expected to be the same from last year and also carry the improved ultrasonic Air Triggers gen 2 and the advanced haptic from the original ROG Phone 2.
The screen here has 1,080 x 2,340px resolution with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and also supports 10-bit HDR. It even exceeds the bounds of the DCI-P3 colour space (108%). The device boasts perfect colour accuracy (deltaE < 1) along with 240Hz touch response.
With optimizations to the Android core, ASUS does claim that it has achieved lower touch latency than the flagship iPhone XS Max. But ASUS is still stuck with the huge top and bottom bezels which has been minimally trimmed but somewhat reduced when compared to the original smartphone.
Being powered by the latest 7nm based Snapdragon 855+, it maximizes the smartphone’s gaming performance. This gaming device is paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It also runs on the cut-down version of original Zen UI 6 seen on the Asus 6Z.
You can switch from ZenUI Classic to ROG UI to apply various skins and improve the look and feel of the device. The Game Center found on the original ROG Phone has been renamed to Armory Crate which basically does the same job of showing RAM, CPU usage also device temperatures.
With it, you can even control fan accessories and control the light-up ROG logo seen on the rear end of the device.
Coming to the cameras, Asus never really cuts down the camera for a gaming smartphone. So, this one too bears the same camera configuration that the Asus 6z brings to you.
It bears a primary 48MP with f/1.79 aperture lens and a secondary 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens on the rear side. On the front, we have a 24MP/4C selfie camera, specially designed for the comfort of gamers while streaming.
Talking about the thermals, which is the most essential part of any gaming device, Asus has again aggressively designed it for better cooling. It has tri-cooling approach – a vapour chamber, copper heat spreader, and graphite pads on the inside for better heat dissipation.
Also, there’s a new Aeroactive Cooler fan attachment, which has been redesigned to offer a quieter experience. It also helps to reduce the temperature by up to 5 degrees.
The best feature of the ROG Phone is the huge 6,000mAh battery. Asus says that you can play up to 10 hours of PUBG Mobile with a single charge which is just amazing! It comes pre-included with 30W HyperCharger in the box which can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just an hour.
The ROG Phone 2 still has dual-USB ports (one at the bottom and one on the side), a 3.5mm headphone jack and a bunch of gaming accessories that enhance the gaming experience. The antenna placement on enables low-latency, high-throughput Wi-Fi connectivity.
Additionally, there are four microphones on this device for better sound reception. The ROG Phone 2 boats of dual front-facing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support that can simulate multi-channel audio. This new gaming smartphone has larger sound chambers than the first-gen ROG Phone making them 2.5x louder than the last-gen.
Honestly, we have seen a huge improvement in the ROG Phone especially in he performance, battery and display, other essential features have been improved for the better gaming experience.
But now it will be interesting to see how ASUS prices the device against the likes of other gaming smartphones in the market.
Zinedine Zidane has publicly said: “We hope Bale leaves soon, it would be best for everyone”.
Gareth Bale was left out of last Saturday’s International Champions Cup clash against Bayern Munich. Zidane sees Bale as surplus to his requirements. And now, he determined to sell the Wales international sooner rather than later.
Zidane told reporters: “Bale did not play because he is very close to leaving. We hope he leaves soon, it would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team. I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done, I have to make decisions, we have to change. The exit is the coach’s decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation. The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will, and it’s a good thing for everyone.”
Although, Bale has never shown much interest in leaving Madrid. He still has three seasons left on his contract. Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, told ESPN: “Zidane is a disgrace to speak like that about someone who has done so much for Real. If and when Gareth goes, it will be because it is in the best interest of Gareth and nothing to do with Zidane pushing.”
It seems Zidane does not value Bale’s ability despite his contribution to three consecutive Champions League titles. It was Bale’s double, including that stunning overhead kick, that sealed Real Madrid’s last European crown a year ago, defeating Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev.
Bale has been linked to Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Tottenham during the close season. But Barnett has dismissed the latter link as “rubbish” amid doubts over Tottenham’ ability to compete financially. Very few clubs in Europe are capable of meeting Madrid’s asking price and Bale’s likely wage demands, complicating LaLiga side Madrid’s hopes of negotiating his exit. However, Zidane said: “We are working on his transfer to a new team”. So a move to the Chinese Super League is very much on the cards.
Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Pochettino has refused to rule out if his chairman Daniel Levy has tabled an offer for the 30-year-old. He told reporters: “I saw the reports in the media but I don’t know which club is trying to sign him. I don’t have any information from my chairman; I don’t know if it’s us or another club. It’s the job of my chairman.”
The Independent has also made a sensational transfer revelation on Sunday. They reported that Neymar is “desperate” to leave PSG and a swap deal involving Bale plus cash is not beyond the realms of possibility. Neymar’s entourage have personally been trying to convince Paris Saint-Germain to swap him for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale this summer.
Ramon Calderon, former president of Real Madrid, has predicted the finances of any exit for Bale will prove difficult to negotiate and said he would favour a temporary departure for the forward, though he acknowledged such an option is unlikely. He told Sky Sports: “I think it’s unsustainable for everyone, for the player, the coach and the club. Zidane discarded him a long time ago. He said he wanted to keep Cristiano [Ronaldo] and to sell Bale [and] the president didn’t follow that advice, so that’s why he left the club [in May 2018]. When he came back he was promised Bale won’t be there in the future. Maybe the comments weren’t really appropriate, but I think what he showed is he’s fed up with the situation. The best thing to do is to find a solution. No top player, and he’s one of them for sure, wants to be on the bench, they want to play. I’m sure he would like to play for Wales and mainly he’d like to be playing, it doesn’t matter where [but] I suppose in a big club.”
“What is true is that no offers have come. That’s another problem. They are talking about Chinese clubs. They have the problem that when paying the transfer fee, with a new rule, you also have to pay the same money to the federation, so that doubles the transfer fee. I think in this case the best solution would be a loan, but no one is willing to do that. With the high salary he’s got, and also the club trying to get a transfer fee, the solution is very difficult.”
Calderon also commented on whether Real Madrid have handled the situation appropriately: “I don’t think so. When these things happen you have to act quickly. I know one year ago we received an offer of around €100million and we didn’t accept it because the president thought that being his star, the one he signed, he should be here and perhaps the manager didn’t know how to take advantage of his qualities. Maybe it’s true, but when you have a coach that says he doesn’t want to keep a player you have to look for a solution.”

The Sony PlayStation 5 is one of the most anticipated game consoles to be released next year. Sony did confirm that their next-gen consoles will be powered by AMD.
The custom APU would be designed by AMD based on their Zen 2 architecture and Navi architecture. Also, from the 3DMark database leaks, the APU will be codenamed “Gonzalo”.
It is likely to feature 8 cores, with a CPU boost clock of 3.2 GHz and a GPU clock of 1.8 GHz.
With the information from DemonCleaner over at NeoGaf who built a PC with Ryzen 7 3700X and Radeon RX 5700XT did underclock it to match with the leaked Gonzalo reports.
The GPU frequency was reduced to 1800MHz at 975mV (stock is 2032Mhz @1198mV) to reduce power consumption to just 125W. Also, the CPU was underclocked to 3.2GHz on all 8 cores and undervolt to 1000mV (stock IIRC 1.4V).
This at least matches or just gives a rough idea that how these combos might work with actual Gonzalo APU that is being designed by AMD.
The 3DMark Fire Strike results tell us the Gonzalo configuration is around 10% down from the stock settings.
On the other hand, the Graphics score is down by just 6% but the CPU dependent Physics score takes a hit with the limitations and is down nearly 20%.
If the real PS5 scores such a kind of result even tough being a game console then it will truly be amazing. Having 8 cores of the efficient & powerful Zen 2 architecture along with the promising RDNA architecture.
We may see an RTX 2070/ RTX 2080 like graphics performance on this upcoming gaming console due to AMD’s insane optimizations and architectural improvements. This also means that AMD’s promise of delivering 4K graphics at 60FPS will also be true but no words on Ray Tracing which was also promised earlier this year.
Though this info was just an emulation but no to forget that AMD will be using it’s Zen 2 cores along with Navi GPUs. So, we cannot actually predict the true performance by the upcoming APU but yes this gives a fair idea of the dream that seems achievable now.
