Quique Setien backs Barcelona after Real Sociedad win by a goal

Yesterday at Camp Nou Barcelona barely managed to win the game by 1 goal that too coming from a penalty in the late 80 minutes of the game.

Even though the fans aren’t satisfied with the game yesterday, the 61-year old Spaniard coach has backed his team describing his team as “good and strong”. There remains no doubt that this LaLiga is proving to be a tough one as we see the underdog teams are playing quite well even defeating Barca, Real Madrid and Atletico.

The Saturday’s game was supposed to be a tough one against Real Sociedad but Barca struggled to find the net even though having a lot of chances in the first half. In the second half, we saw a poor performance of the team but a strong performance of the two centre backs – Pique and Lenglet.

They kept the clean sheet and didn’t bother ter Stegan much while a late Lionel Messi penalty gave the hosts all three points, returning them to the top of the table ahead of Real Madrid’s trip to Real Betis on Sunday.

Setien seems happy with his team’s performance and said he knew it would be a tough game against the Copa del Rey finalists. After the match he said:

“I’m in charge of the team, that’s what I’m concerned with. And the team is good, strong morale, it’s true we came from a painful defeat but I see the team as good and strong.

“We knew that it would be a very complicated game. La Real, I think, had gone six games winning in a row including at the Bernabeu. They are a team that works with the ball well and when they overcome your press have players upfront of the quality to do you damage. Meanwhile, we controlled the play in many phases and generated many many chances.”

Barcelona’s next game is against Real Mallorca away from home at the Iberostar Stadium and they have a week to prepare for it. They won the reverse fixture by 5-2 back in December under Valverde at the Camp Nou.

Zidane says he is happy at Real Madrid amid Juventus links

Zinedine Zidane has been one of the most successful coaches in the last 5 years. He has won a hat-trick of Champions League trophies with Real Madrid.

After leaving the Bernabeu in 2018 he joined them again in 2019. He is doing a fantastic job in his second stint with Real Madrid. They are on course for LaLiga and even have a chance to get their hands on the Champions League trophy again. He is currently under contract at Real Madrid until June 2022

According to a report by the Mail, Juventus are putting together a bid to give the three-time Champions League winner an annual contract worth up to three years and £7m – the maximum Juve would be able to pay Zidane due to current club policy.

If Zidane joins Juventus he would be reunited with former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. The pair achieved great success during their time at the Bernabeu.

Zidane famously starred at Juventus from 1996 to 2001, where he claimed the Ballon d’Or in 1998. He is still a fan favourite at Turin so a return can be on Zidane’s cards in the latter stage of his career.

But for now, Zidane has dismissed all Juventus talks. The 47-year-old said at a news conference on Saturday to preview Madrid’s trip to Real Betis: “I am lucky to be able to live my passion, football, in this club. It is a pride and I take every moment that this team gives me. The players are part of this story, they write something every day.”

“In football, there is no continuity of knowing what you will follow, the most important is the day to day. Sure I feel backed by the club, here we all go in the same direction, but then I know how this works.”

“Now I am the coach of Real Madrid but tomorrow it could change. I am here and it is a joy. [Juventus] have not contacted me. There are many rumours circulating, but I haven’t received any offers from anyone.”

Zidane is happy with his current Real Madrid team and hopes to win the LaLiga this season after edging their eternal rivals Barcelona by 2-0 last weekend.

Liverpool create a new English top-flight football record

Liverpool already have their one hand on the Premier League trophy but three defeats in their last four matches rang an alarm bell for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The reigning Champions League holder lost to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League 1st leg of the round of 16. They were also beaten 3-0 by Watford who produced a magical performance. Frank Lampard’s Chelsea also inflicted an FA Cup knockout on Liverpool.

But Liverpool made a comeback against Bournemouth at Anfield to win it 2-1. They dismissed all suggestions that the would-be champions were getting complacent and losing their focus. Salah and Mane made sure that Liverpool stay well on course for the Premier League title.

Liverpool’s win against Bournemouth at Anfield was their 22nd consecutive Premier League win at their home ground. They overtook the previous record of 21 home wins which was set in 1972 by Liverpool only.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have now set a new record in the top flight of English football. No other team has managed more consecutive home wins in the entire history of English top-flight football.

Liverpool are also unbeaten in their last 55 Premier League home matches. Chelsea went 86 home games without a defeat from 2004 to 2008. So this record is still a long way for Liverpool but considering their recent form it would be foolish to bet against Liverpool setting that record too.

They have now moved 25 points clear of Manchester City, who have played two games fewer. This means Liverpool can still clinch the Premier League title at the home of the defending champions on 5th April.

Vivo NEX 3S 5G is set to launch on 10th March, which is an upgrade over the previous Vivo NEX 3s 5G. the launch has been confirmed by the company last week in their Weibo account. As the launch coming close the company is showcasing a few features of the new device. Some of the features of the Vivo NEX 3s 5G are discussed below.

  1. The Vivo NEX 3s 5G will have a curved waterfall display, with minimum bezels at the top and bottom of the device.
  2. The device will be powered with Snapdragon 865, which will have a 5G modem to support 5G.

3. Triple rear camera.

As far as the cameras go, the Vivo V1950A’s TENAA listing suggested that it will pack a triple rear camera setup that will include a 64-megapixel main camera, assisted by a pair of 13-megapixel snappers. Selfies will be handled by a 16-megapixel camera, and if the rumors turn out to be true, the front camera will be in-display designed.

Oppo launched the Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro today after a small delay with the MWC event in China due to Coronavirus. Both the devices come with a massive 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G modem, and one of the fastest charging technology in the industry. In addition to all these, the Oppo Find X2 Pro features a telescopic lens that is capable of long-range photography.

Specifications of Oppo Find X2:

Oppo Find X2 Pro runs Android 10 with ColorOS 7.1 on top and features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Ultra Vision display along with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display panel is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The phone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, coupled with Adreno 650 GPU and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The Oppo Find X2 Pro has 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage that isn’t expandable.

The Oppo Find X2 comes with a price tag of EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 83,400) for the 12GB + 256GB option. The phone has Black (Ceramic) and Ocean (Glass) versions to choose from.

Previously back in 2019, we did hear some rumours about the top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 4900H APU but now we have actual proof as Videocardz has spotted a TUF Gaming laptop powered by this unannounced processor.

At the CES 2020, AMD did unveil Ryzen 4000H gaming processors up to the Ryzen 7 4800H but now we have the proof that Ryzen 9 4900H APUs are real. Videocardz source recently revealed pictures of a real-life TUF Gaming laptop from Asus and also the Zephyrus G14 might feature a custom Ryzen 9 4900HS APU.

According to Asus, the AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS processor will have 35 W TDP like its Ryzen 7 4800HS brother along with 4.4 GHz boost clock speed. On the other hand, the regular Ryzen 9 4900H is supposed to have a 45 W TDP along with 4.2 GHz boost.

Also, both the H and the HS models are rumoured to integrate Vega iGPUs with 8 CUs but the sticker does not mention anything about the iGPU or about the discrete GPU either. But it does mention the presence of M.2 SSD and HDD as well along with a 15.6-inch FHD display.

It will be interesting to see the performance of the Ryzen 9 4900H and when AMD launches it actually and when the laptops featuring this APU come to market.

Moto G8 is launched with Snapdragon 665 SoC, triple rear camera and punch hole front camera

Moto G8 is an addition to the G8 family which consists of the Play, Plus, and Power editions primarily. The Moto G8 is the original variant in the G8 series which is a perfect balance between power and performance. This device is the first launch from the brand this year and the brand is also focusing on 5G devices which will be launched within a few months. The official video of the device is already here.

The 6.4” display with 720p+ resolution marks a noticeable drop in pixel density (the G7 had a 6.2” 1080p+ display). The selfie camera still has an 8MP sensor (1.12µm pixels), but it’s now inside a punch hole instead of a teardrop notch.

The triple camera on the back is an upgrade. It features a new 16MP main unit (1.12µm pixels behind an f/1.7 lens) as well as 8MP ultra-wide-angle (119°) and a 2MP macro cameras. The fourth module is a Laser AF system. The main camera can record 4K video at 30fps, same as before. For comparison, the G7 had a 12MP main cam and 5MP depth sensor, the G8 Plus has a 48MP main and 16MP ultrawide cameras (plus a 1080p+ screen).

The Motorola Moto G8 features a better chipset too, a Snapdragon 665. The Adreno 600-class GPU is nearly twice as fast as the 500-class GPU on the old model, the CPU is slightly faster too. The memory configuration is the same as last year, 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (51GB user available). This is a dual SIM phone, but you can put a microSD card instead of a second SIM.

The new model sports a larger battery – 4,000mAh, matching the G8 Plus and Play. However, charging speed has taken a hit and the G8 only supports 10W.

On its Financial Analyst Day, AMD did not launch any product though but still said some interesting things regarding their upcoming GPUs. The RDNA 2 architecture is being much speculated off recently as because it will power the Xbox Series X and PS5 gaming consoles and the upcoming Navi 2X GPUs as well.

Previously AMD did confirm about Ray Tracing on the RDNA 2 architecture and via its slides, it’s confirmed that the next-gen AMD GPUs will have this feature out-of-the-box. AMD has even announced that it is targeting a 50% improvement in efficiency over the first generation RDNA architecture.

AMD is also aiming for the performance necessary to deliver “uncompromising” 4K gaming and RDNA 2 will also support variable-rate shading. This will help AMD GPUs to compete with NVIDIA’s RTX lineup which is all set to get an upgrade this month.

The 50% increase in perf-per-watt over RDNA (1) will come due to various reason including microarchitectural enhancements as well as optimizations to physical routing and unspecified logic enhancements to “reduce complexity and switching power.”

Although the Red team is said to be using 7nm process, there might be a possibility of AMD using the advanced 7nm process i.e. TSMC’s EUV-based “N7+” node.

AMD RDNA 2 architecture will be 50% more powerful than last-gen

AMD has clarified that RDNA 2 GPUs will arrive later this year and also teased its upcoming “Big Navi” GPU in an obscured photo. The pic indicates a dual axial design which is quite similar to NVIDIA’s founder edition cards replacing the current blower-style cooler but AMD has kept silent on the Big Navi rumours as for now.

It will interesting to see how AMD holds up against NVIDIA’s Ampere GPUs which seems to be pretty impressive from its leaks. AMD’s RDNA 2 will prove crucial against NVIDIA GPUs to hold its market and how the architecture will improve gaming consoles in 2020.

Since the launch of the Ryzen 4000 mobile processors, everyone has hailed the new APUs for their power and performance under the 15W TDP envelope. Shifting to the 7nm architecture has allowed to maximize its performance and beefing up the cores without any efficiency issues, thanks to Zen 2 architecture.

Even though we are yet to get hands-on with the laptops running on these APUs but we have leaks suggesting the performance of them and they are impressive. The 8 core monster – the Ryzen 7 4800U is the best out of the lot with 16 threads and clock rates ranging from 1.8 GHz to 4.2 GHz.

An unnamed Lenovo laptop featuring the Ryzen 7 4800U has been spotted on Geekbench 5 by @TUM_APISAK and it has pretty impressive scores. The 15 W APU scores 1,150 points and 7,047 points for the single-core and multi-core benchmarks, respectively. 

The TDP of the APU varies from 10 W and 25 W according to the usage and tweaks by the laptop vendors. So, even if the scores of this APU might be when it’s operating at 25W but it’s still better than the 8-core Intel Core i9-9880H.

The higher clocked Intel Coffee Lake chip with 2.3 GHz base and 4.8 GHz boost clocks only manages to score 1,186 points in the single-core and 7,100 points in multi-core benchmarks. It’s good to see the 7nm APU outperform its higher cost Intel counterpart at lower TDP.

Soon, newer laptops bearing the Ryzen 4000 mobile APUs will be available in the market and more new models coming Q2 2020, can’t wait to test them out!
