Mi and Redmi became separate few months back and so Redm India’s first product is the new Redmi Note 7 series. Everyone expected the Note 7 launch in India only but to our surprise both the devices got launched in India at the same go.
So, today Xiaomi India has surprised all of us by launching the Redmi Note 7 Pro first in India, i.e. the global launch of this device has been done in India rather than its origin country China.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro with its mind-blowing features and its aggressive pricing will again rule the Indian smartphone market once again. Why? Let’s check out:
Redmi Note 7 Pro Specifications
6.3 inches FHD+ Display with 1080 x 2340 pixels
81.4% screen-to-body ratio
Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection both for both screen & back
Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor based on 11nm process
4/6 GB LPDDR4X RAM
64/128 GB internal storage
Dual Rear Camera: primary 48MP Sony IMX 586 1/2″ PDAF 0.8µm sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and secondary 5 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 4K recording support at 30fps
Front Camera: 13 MP AI front camera, 1080p recording support at 30fps
The Redmi Note 7 Pro has a stunning aurora design that totally changes the look and feel of the new Redmi Note 7 series. The glass back feels premium and is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
There are three new colours for the Redmi Note 7 Pro including Purple Blue, Black, & Purple Red. With a decorative design, glass back finish and gorgeous looking colours, Xiaomi has changed the party totally.
Dot Notch FHD+ display
This is the first dew-drop or dot notch implemented Redmi Note series, so the Redmi Note 7 Pro bears a 6.3 inches FHD+ Display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution.
It has a great 81.4% screen-to-body ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Considering its price, this device has a great display.
Unmatched Performance with Qulalcomm Snapdragon 675
The Redmi Note 7 Pro is powered by a humongous Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor based on 11nm architecture.
The Snapdragon 675 has two 2.0 GHz Kryo 460 Gold cores that take care of all the heavy tasks including games and other 3D applications. Also, there are six 1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver cores that help to run all the daily applications.
This processor easily beats the superior Snapdragon 710 or Kirin 710, Exynos 7904 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro has some impressive benchmarks, ripping off its opponents including Honor 10 Lite, Samsung M30, Oppo K1 and others.
Also the Qualcomm® Adreno™ 612 GPU gives a superior graphical performance during gaming or any graphical work.
Both the Kryo 460 and Qualcomm® Hexagon™ 685 DSP are the only things present in this chip is similarly present in the flagship Snapdragon 855 processor as well, that makes this 675 chip so special.
Superior camera with 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor
The Sony IMX 586 sensor is a true 48 MP camera sensor which is found in Honor View 20. This sensor is the primary sensor of the dual rear camera present in this Redmi Note 7 Pro. It is a 1/2 inch PDAF 0.8µm sensor with an f/1.79 aperture.
This helps the camera to capture more light than ever and according to the samples shown by Xiaomi, the sensor truly performs well in any lighting conditions.
Redmi Note 7 Pro’s rear camera performance is brilliant as it is able to capture a lot of details including 48 million dots with this particular sensor.
When camera samples were shown against its mid-range competitors, this smartphone easily beat them all and even beating the so-called flagship OnePlus 6T.
There’s also a secondary 5 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture that helps you to capture bokeh shots with various studio lighting effects. Xiaomi also declared that its improved AI photography, especially for India, will help to capture superior photos.
Xiaomi has also implemented Steady Hand-held Night photography with its own AI algorithms that further enhances the night photography.
Due to the intelligent enough Snapdragon 675 that has Qualcomm Spectra™ 250L image signal processor within it, you get enhanced photography. The 2x Image Signal Processor (ISP), 14-bit will help you a lot in getting higher resolution photos.
For video capturing you get up to 4K video capture @ 30 FPS and up to 1080p video capture @120 FPS with EIS support.
13MP AI Camera
The Redmi Note 7 Pro will surely not disappoint you in front cameras as well, it packs in a 13 MP AI front camera. So, with this camera you will be able to take beautiful selfies as well.
Though there’s no dual front camera this time Xiaomi says its AI capabilities will help get smooth selfies with bokeh effect.
Battery & OS
Like all other Redmi Note series, the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a big 4000 mAh battery. This time there’s also a Type-C port with 18 Watt Quick Charge 4 support.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and has the MIUI 10 OS on top of it.
Quality Assurance
Xiaomi has this time stressed on the quality of Redmi Note 7 by implementing Gorilla Glass 5 protection for both front and back. Also, they have assured with falls or any damage the smartphone will able to withstand it.
The Redmi Note 7 can even break nuts with itself even without getting any scratches. Xiaomi has made the Note 7 series splash proof, which means, your Note 7 or Note 7 Pro can withstand any kind of water splash or sweat easily as its ports have sealed.
Price & Availability
Now the thing that surprised everyone out there is the pricing of this device. When you compare the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s specs including the Snapdragon 675 which when used in devices like Vivo V15 Pro, has been priced at about Rs.30k.
On the other hand, the Sony IMX 586 image sensor used in Honor View 20 makes the device price at Rs.35k+. So, combining both of the powerful specs, we could easily guess the price to be somewhere around Rs.20k.
But, this is not the case, the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage has been priced at just Rs.13,999 only, whereas 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs.16,999.
This aggressive pricing of the device is just phenomenal, and the specs that are being offered is truly incredible. Well, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is a true successor to Xiaomi’s historic Note series.
Redmi Note 7 Pro’s first sale will be conducted on 13th of March at Flipkart, Mi.com and will also be available at Mi stores. Manu Kumar Jain even promised to deliver the Note 7 series to customers via retail partners asap.
Airtel has also partnered with Xiaomi to provide extra data for its customers who will be buying the Note 7 series as well as attracted lot of customers as well.
Verdict
So, overall this smartphone is a worthy successor to the Redmi Note 6 Pro even much more superior. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 is a costly chip for mid-range series and I am amazed to see Xiaomi using it in Note 7 Pro and that too keeping a price of a budget smartphone.
Well, everything seems promising along with the costly yet effective Sony’s IMX 586 image sensor. Using a “true 48MP sensor” in a budget smartphone require lot of guts, which Xiaomi or rather the separated Redmi brand has proved this time.
Xiaomi India was losing its value among people for various aggressive products from Realme, Honor, Samsung’s M series as well as ASUS’s Zenfone Max series. To prove its superiority and maintain its tag line of “Best Specs, Highest Quality, Honest Pricing”.
The Note 7 series will surely turn out to be the game changer for Xiaomi and retain its number 1 position in the Indian smartphone market which they have been since last six quarters. What do you think? Tell us in the comments down below… 🙂
In any given Premier League season, the majority of
the headlines are always written about just who will go on to be crowned
champions come the end of an arduous nine-month campaign. At the same time
though, this is far from the only plot line that the competition serves up.
In English football, and like many other countries
around the world, there is a case of what goes up must come down and that means
that we are treated to what is usually a dramatic fight to stave off the threat
of relegation.
It’s a drama that is arguably more interesting than
the title race itself, what with the high stakes that are involved. It’s
something that is consequently great viewing for the neutral and ultimately gut
wrenching if you are a fan of any of the clubs involved.
And this season it looks like there are set to be a
lot of nervous stomachs, as it is anyone’s guess just as to who will suffer the
ignominy of relegation. Although, that said, we can almost start preparing the
farewell party for both Fulham and Huddersfield, as they are firmly cast adrift
from safety.
Both Fulham and Huddersfield have rolled the dice in
terms of appointing new managerial personnel during the course of the season
and, in all fairness, you would have to say that neither gamble has paid off.
For Fulham, it was the installation of
Claudio Ranieri in November that raised some eyebrows, especially after the
work that previous incumbent Slavisa Jokanovic had done in getting the
Cottagers back to the Premier League.
Having a bad season at Fulham so far
The hope, if not the expectation, was that Ranieri
would be able to perform a similar kind of miracle to the one when unfancied
Leicester City were crowned Premier League champions nearly three years ago.
However, Ranieri has not been able to work his magic
in West London and, although there has been the odd win here and there, it has
not been enough to gain any real traction and in turn pull themselves away from
the relegation zone.
And it is the relegation zone which has been Huddersfield’s
natural habitat for almost the duration of the season. The Terriers are clearly
suffering from all the symptoms of ‘Second Season Syndrome’ and a poor run of
results before Christmas ultimately cost David
Wagner his job as manager.
Huddersfield staying positive
Wagner previously was manager of Borussia Dortmund’s
reserve team and it is there that the Yorkshire outfit looked to in order to
name his successor, with 36-year-old Jan Siewert being given the
near-impossible task of keeping Huddersfield up.
It’s a statement
that Oddschecker are able to reinforce when you take a look at the latest
Premier League relegation markets. The 2017 Championship play-offs winners are
priced around 1/100 with Betfair, who offer a winnings and odds boost to make
up for the Yorkshire club’s almost-inevitable fate.
Then again it does not make for much better reading if
you are a Fulham fan. They themselves won the Championship play-offs just 12
months later and most online bookmakers have them priced at 7/100 to go down.
Southampton beat Fulham last night by 2-0
But even with these two all but a mere formality in
terms of dropping back down to the Championship, it still means that there is
another unwanted relegation place available and a number of teams are doing
their best to steer well clear of it.
Southampton currently occupy that spot and, like the
two clubs above, they also decided that a managerial change was necessary. That came
in the shape of former RB Lepizig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Saints progress under the Austrian has been
steady, if not spectacular, and although they are making small steps under
their new man in charge, you do get the feeling that soon they will have to
start making giant strides.
This is especially so, as the likes of Burnley and
Cardiff are now starting to turn the corner and win games that perhaps earlier
in the season you would not have expected them to. If their trajectory up the
table continues, then life will get ever harder for Southampton and Hasenhuttl
in the final few weeks.
And perhaps the fact that all three teams who
currently sit in the drop zone changed their managers and are showing no real
tangible benefits lends itself to a question being asked. Just why weren’t
the previous men in charge given more time to turn things around?
Fulham and Huddersfield took a gamble and, for them, it is one that will all but see them play in English football’s second tier next season. Now we will have to wait and see whether Southampton end up joining them and complete the trio of relegated teams.
The Copa del Rey semi-final match between Real Madrid and Barcelona will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu on 28th February at 1:30 am IST. Unfortunately, the live TV coverage of the match will not be available in India. So here’s how you can watch it!
The 1st leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final ended in a 1-1 draw. Both the teams dominated one half each and scored once. Lucas Vazquez had put Los Blancos in front after just six minutes but Malcom equalized three minutes before the hour mark to leave the tie in balance. Real Madrid enters the match with the slight advantage on away goals as they got a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou earlier this month. That forces Barcelona to score at least a goal to have a chance, while a 0-0 draw or a victory will see Real Madrid advance. The winner moves on to face either Valencia or Real Betis in the final.
Real Madrid and Barcelona will face each other twice in a space of four days, first at Santiago Bernabeu for the Copa del Rey second leg on 28th February. Then again on 3rd March for a La Liga fixture on the same ground. It’ll be a treat for the neutrals, and it might kill fans from both sides.
Barcelona didn’t have the best Lionel Messi available in the 1st leg due to a nagging injury. But now Messi has returned and he is at his devastating best. He has scored his 50th career hat-trick in Barca’s 4-2 away win against Sevilla to consolidate the lead at the top of the table.
When and at what time is the Copa del Rey’s Real Madrid vs Barcelona semi-final? The El Clasico will be played on 28th February, Thursday, and it will start at 01:30 am India time. The 2nd leg will be played at Santiago Bernabeu.
Where and how to watch the live TV coverage of Real Madrid vs Barcelona? Which TV channel will have the match live? Unfortunately, the Copa del Rey semi-final between Real Madrid and Barcelona will be not aired on TV in India. But, the live stream of the Copa del Rey semi-final match will be available on Jio TV’s official app.

In the United States (US), the game can be watched live and on-demand with fuboTV (7-day free trial). New users can sign up for a free seven-day trial of the live sports streaming service, which can be accessed via iOS, Android, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Apple TV as well as on a web browser.
What will be the likely lineups for Barcelona vs Real Madrid match? Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Reguilon; Modric, Casemiro, Kroos; Vasquez, Benzema, Vinicius Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Alba; Rakitic, Busquets, Vidal; Messi, Suarez, Dembele
Players to watch out for:
Luka Modric (Real Madrid) In a high octane match like El Clasico, Madrid would want Luka Modric to be at his prime. Modric combines well with Toni Kroos in the heart of the midfield to control the game. The 33-year-old Croatian has a pass success percentage of 89.6 in La Liga this season. Further, he has 2 goals and 4 assists in the Spanish League. His dribbles, through balls, long shots and key passes are the work of a magician. He could be Real’s most vital player against Barcelona.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona) The Barcelona great scored a brilliant hat-trick and assisted the fourth to secure victory against Sevilla. It was his career’s 50th hat-trick. He is the top goal scorer in this season’s La Liga with 25 goals. And with 26 goals he is the all-time top goal scorer in the history of El Clasico. Against a hostile and vociferous Bernabeu crowd, it could be Messi’s brilliance that could be the difference.
Historically, Barcelona have gotten the better of the Clasico, which was first played in 1929, with 113 overall wins to Real Madrid’s 99. Meanwhile, there have been 61 draws. As Los Blancos go chasing a historic 100th victory in the fixture, these are encounters that mean more to them, especially Solari, who is doing his best to show the board that he is worth the coaching job on a full-time basis.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are the undoubted kings of the cup, having appeared in 23 successive rounds of the competition. Indeed, the last time they were knocked out before the final was February 2013, when Madrid beat them 4-2 on aggregate. The four-time defending champions will not want history to repeat itself.

Kepa Arrizabalaga seemed to be struggling with his cramp but he refused to be substituted by Sarri in the second half of extra time of the EFL Cup final.
Manchester City has beaten Chelsea 4-3 on penalties and won the EFL Cup for the 2nd time in a row. But what should apart for Chelsea in yesterday’s final was not their defeat, but the incident involving Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and their manager Maurizio Sarri.
The incident happened in the last minutes of the second half of extra time. Kepa had already been already been treated for his cramp and he fell to the ground for the second time. It appeared that he was struggling with his cramp. Sarri prepared a substitution. He was going to bring in Willy Caballero for Kepa Arrizabalaga. But what happened after that was an incident which the football fans aren’t familiar with. It seemed that Kepa was refusing to be substituted. That left Sarri furious and he charged towards the tunnel before returning to the touchlines.
After the final whistle, both Kepa and Sarri attempted to play down the incident. They insisted that it was a misunderstanding between the player and the coaching staff.
Maurizio Sarri told to the news conference: “I think that, if you saw the match, you can understand very well that, today, the players played exactly the match we prepared yesterday. So, I think I am in control, fully in control of the situation. Now, I’d like to speak about something else, about our way of football today, because our way of football today was a little bit different from other matches.”
When asked if he felt Kepa showed him a lack of respect, Sarri said: “No, Kepa only said: ‘No, no, I’m very well and able to continue.’ He understood I wanted to change for an injury. He was only telling me his word, saying he was really very well. So, I think that, in 120 minutes, a discussion can happen with the players. I think we have to concentrate on football. Of course, I will speak to him. As I said before, he was right for his motivation. But not for the conduct.”
Sarri also denied that the incident affected the Chelsea players ahead of the penalty shoot-out, saying: “No, I don’t think so, because the only nervous person was myself. I saw the players very quiet and calm. We had prepared [for a shoot-out], but it’s useless because it’s very easy to kick a penalty in the training ground. Then, after 20 hours, you have to kick a penalty here with 80,000 people, and millions watching on television. So, it’s really different. It’s not a question of technical ability. But more the mind, I think.”
Kepa Arrizabalaga spoke to the reporters after the match. He said that he felt the matter had got out of hand on social media and in television coverage and stressed that he was not trying to defy his head coach. Kepa told: “Well, first of all, I have to say it was misunderstood. In no moment was it my intention to disobey, or anything like that with the boss. It was two or three minutes of confusion until the medics got to the bench, and they explained everything well. This was nothing to do with the problems I had this week, with [my hamstring], it wasn’t that. And, well, it was misunderstood. Because he thought I couldn’t continue, and – fundamentally – I was trying to say that, physically, I was fine.”
Kepa further added: “I know if you see it from outside, I don’t know how it went out, it is not the best image. I have spoken with the boss. I think it was misunderstood. I understand that on television, on social media, they’re talking about this but I am here to explain it, to say that it wasn’t my intention to go against the manager. We have spoken now, and I was only trying to say I’m fine. He thought I wasn’t fine. It was in tense moments, with a lot happening. I thought the bench felt I couldn’t continue, because it was the second time I’d gone to ground. It was extra time. We’d run a lot, so [going to ground] was also a way of stopping the match. We’d had a few moments suffering, defending, so it was to stop the match and for the team to draw breath and not a moment where I was saying I couldn’t continue. It wasn’t that I was refusing to be substituted, it was a way of trying to tell the bench that I was fine.”
Kepa then released a statement via Twitter to underline his version of events, saying: “I regret how the end of the match has been portrayed. At no time has it been my intention to disobey the coach or any of his decisions. I think everything has been misunderstood in the heat of the final part of a match for a title. The coach thought I was not in a position to play on and my intention was to express that I was in good condition to continue helping the team, while the docs that had treated me arrived at the bench to give the message. I feel the image that has been portrayed was not my intention. I have full respect for the coach and his authority.”
Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri is now under pressure after heavy Premier League defeats to City and Bournemouth and a FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United and now an EFL Cup final loss to Manchester City. Sarri said: “I don’t know; you’ll have to use your phone and ask the club. I can say my opinion, but I don’t know. But today I’m really very happy because my feeling is that we are improving. We are improving because we could become a very solid team, I think. We conceded nothing to Manchester City, and that’s not really very easy. They’re very dangerous in the attacking phase and usually score a lot. So, I’m happy with the performance, and I saw the match on the pitch that I prepared yesterday. So, for a coach, it’s a very important thing.”

Apart from unveiling the GTX 1660 Ti, NVIDIA also refreshes their laptop graphics lineup with GeForce MX250 and GeForce MX230
NVIDIA has been aggressive with their Ray Tracing throughout 2018 and also started this year with the new RTX 20 series Mobile GPUs and with the RTX 2060 GPU.
Now they are turning their attention to the lower end mobile GPUs, specifically to their MX series laptop GPUs. So, recently NVIDIA has announced the successor to their much successful MX130 and M150 GPUs for thin and light laptops.
The new GeForce MX230 and MX250 GPUs are intended to deliver better graphics power than the current iGPUs offered by Intel. The older gen GPUs by NVIDIA were getting a bit outdated especially when powerful iGPUs by AMD are ruling the market and serving enough juice to run games on it easily.
Though these GPUs are faster and better but not as powerful as the GeForce GTX 1050 and GeForce GTX 1050Ti GPUs. Both of the new GPUs work seamlessly with NVIDIA’s Optimus technology to provide you with the perfect balance between long battery life and performance.
Unlike NVIDIA’s new recent GPUs, this one is based on the same Pascal architecture, and has NVIDIA’s CUDA technology to tackle demanding tasks, everyday work, basic video editing and entry level gaming.
Well, NVIDIA has not yet released any official specifications regarding the core counts, clock speeds, or memory configurations. But to show the performance improvements, NVIDIA has claimed of 3.5X and 2.6X improvements for the two new GPUs respectively (MX250 and MX230) compared to Intel’s UHD Graphics 620 integrated GPU, as tested on a Core i5-8265U CPU.
The GPUs will also have support for DirectX 12, Vulkan 1.1, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 1.2. NVIDIA also confirmed of the PCIe 3.0 interface and will support same old GDDR5 memory.
NVIDIA’s Optimus technology will allow laptops to switch between their integrated and discrete GPUs easily. The two new GPUs will most likely begin to show up in laptops soon, as NVIDIA has just made both the MX230 and MX250 public.
Both the GeForce MX250 and GeForce MX230 will compete against AMD’s integrated Radeon Vega GPUs, which are powerful enough for basic gaming as well content creation.
How did you like the new GPUs by NVIDIA? Would you prefer them over Vega iGPU? Tell us in the comments below… 🙂
