OnePlus 15 Leak Reveals Square Camera Design & 7,000mAh Battery

The OnePlus 15 is set to revolutionize flagship smartphone design with a dramatic departure from OnePlus’s signature circular camera module. According to a new leak from Digital Chat Station, the upcoming flagship will feature a compact square camera design alongside impressive battery capacity upgrades.

Major Design Language Overhaul

The tipster claims that the engineering prototype of the OnePlus 15 has a new rear camera design, abandoning the circular rear camera housing that has been a consistent design choice for OnePlus flagships since the OnePlus 11.

OnePlus 15 Key Specifications

Revolutionary Display Technology

The tipster claims the OnePlus 15 will feature a flat display with a 1.5K resolution, utilising advanced LIPO technology to reduce bezel thickness significantly. This display enhancement promises improved visual clarity while maintaining sleek aesthetics.

The LIPO technology represents a cutting-edge approach to display manufacturing that enables thinner bezels without compromising screen quality or durability.

Massive Battery Capacity Upgrade

A previous leak suggests the phone will feature a battery capacity of at least 7,000mAh, representing a substantial improvement over current flagship standards. This enormous battery capacity could redefine expectations for flagship smartphone endurance.

Despite the massive battery upgrade, the device may retain 100W wired fast charging, similar to its predecessor, ensuring rapid power replenishment when needed.

Next-Generation Performance

The OnePlus 15 is expected to be among the first batch of phones powered by the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, positioning it at the forefront of mobile performance capabilities.

This processor combination with the massive battery capacity could establish new benchmarks for flagship smartphone performance and longevity.

Launch Timeline & Availability

The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch in October in China, followed by a global release in early 2026. This timeline suggests OnePlus is taking extra time to perfect the new design language and battery technology integration.

The new camera module design may reflect OnePlus’s previously announced plan to revamp the design language of its future smartphones, indicating a broader strategic shift across the product lineup.

Market Positioning

This design overhaul positions the OnePlus 15 as a direct competitor to other flagship smartphones while establishing a unique visual identity. The square camera module represents a bold departure from current trends and could influence industry design directions.

The OnePlus 15 will succeed the OnePlus 13, which earned nearly perfect reviews for its performance and features, setting high expectations for the upcoming flagship.
