All the e-commerce platforms in India got permission for delivering non-essential products from the 4th phase of lockdown. It was started on 18th May, and today (31st May) is the last day. The analysis made on the orders placed during these last 13 days pretends Indians are preparing to stay at home for a longer time.
For Flipkart…
A Flipkart spokesperson said, “We are proud to see a 9X spike in the number of sellers an MSMEs resuming business this week, compared to the first week of the nationwide lockdown,” This hike is not the reason of the estimation. The main cause is the products, customers ordered for.
Flipkart faced the high demand for smartphones, TVs, kitchen appliances, home wearing clothes, nightdresses, inner wares, and more. As per another spokesperson of Flipkart, “Considering more people are spending time with families who have different entertainment, professional and educational needs, there is a growing requirement for multiple screens in a single household. This is reflected in the high demand for Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops, and Televisions, all of which have doubled in demand. Fashion choices have become more functional. Inner-wear and Lounge-wear are seeing an increased demand, with women’s sleepwear witnessing a very good growth,”
For Amazon…
In the case of Amazon, it got 31X demand growth for robotic vacuum cleaners, 10X for gym accessories, 23X for dishwashers, 3.9X for guitars, 3.6X for children boos, and more other growths. All these stats are based on the orders placed within the first 24 hours after enabling the order taking process. Now, think about the whole 14 days’ stat.
A spokesperson from Amazon said, “We are humbled by the customer response and geared up to meet the pent up demand for priority products that customers need over a prolonged period of lockdown. The sellers on Amazon.in have sen orders for consumer electronics, kitchen & home appliances, smart devices, laptops, phone accessories, apparel and more. Work from home and online schooling enablers such as laptops, books, headphones and computer accessories continue to interest customers.”
Similarly, Snapseal has also faced demand growth with a slightly different percentage than Flipkart and Amazon.
The Grand Theft Auto series has been the most popular game series ever downloaded and its craze still persists with the GTA V. There remains a lot of uncertainty in the launch of the next instalment of the game but a recent activity from Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, suggests that GTA VI will make its way in 2023.
People still love its old GTA V and are mad at it as the game was up for free at the Epic Games Store weeks ago. It’s getting harder to stick to the old game, and now wait for another 3 years? this seems pathetic for every GTA fans out there.
A recent report from CNET suggests that Take-Two Interactive spends around $10million to $40 million a year on marketing. But according to a recent SEC filing, that game makers are planning to spend over $89 million just for the fiscal year 2024 i.e. between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024.
Now, this has raised a speculation in the community that whether Rockstar Games is planning to launch the GTA VI sometime in 2023. Spending such a huge amount of money is not a joke and so the game developer might be planning well for its future and we know Rockstar’s GTA series and Red Dead Redemption series are the most popular ones.
Also, according to the filing, Take-Two plans to spend around $150 million every year on game development and licensing from 2021 until 2024. So, in other words, something big is coming from the company and it better be GTA VI.
If that’s so, in 2023, GTA V will mark 10 years since the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 launched. Previously, there was a five-year wait between GTA IV and V, so most likely we might see the GTA VI release in mid-2023 or early 2024.

The Govt eases its PLI scheme to pave way for smartphone manufacturers like Apple to ramp up production in India
In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the economic condition of India has been affected on a huge scale and GDP of the country has been dropping considerably. To boost this, Indian govt has steadily implementing various policies to encourage foreign investment and readily bring more opportunities to the youth and those who are losing their jobs recently.
There’s no denial of the fact the smartphone industry in the country has evolved significantly in the last few years. Surprisingly, India overtook the US to become the world’s second-largest smartphone market only after China, this actually makes sense for such a hugely populated country.
India has a lot of potential in the smartphone industry and major players like Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Apple, Huawei and others also know this fact. But there were some strict govt rules set for the manufacturing of smartphones in the country.
Now, it seems the Govt is loosening its laws to encourage manufacturers like Samsung, Apple to invest more in the country and actually be able to be one of the biggest exporters of smartphones. The governing body for the country’s Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) program met on Friday and has decided to remove as well as alter a few important clauses.
This includes the evaluation of plant and machinery to be brought from China and South Korea at just 40% of its value and few other changes so that manufacturing could shift to India in a massive way.
According to the Economic Times, Apple through its contract manufacturers Wistron and Foxconn can be shifting a major portion of its manufacturing facility to India under the proposed PLI scheme. Same goes for Pegatron, a third-party Apple partner, is already in talks with the Govt to relocate parts of its manufacturing in the country.
With this scheme India is trying to attract more American investment and bring the US companies so that they can diversify the manufacturing out of China as per the “China plus one strategy”.
As we know, China is now developing at a blazing fast speed and so cheap labour is not available as it used to be, and for this, companies are trying to shift a major part of their production from China to other Asian alternatives like Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand. So, this will be the “plus one” part to the long China-centric manufacturing setup.
So, making such reforms, the Indian government wants to attract large-scale smartphone manufacturing to India and it plans to raise exports out of India from under $3 billion to over $100 billion by 2025.
This Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) entitles an incentive of 4% to 6% over a five-year period on incremental sales for the manufacturers on a yearly basis.
So, to benefit from this incentive these smartphone makers will have to produce high-end phones (with freight on board value of more than $200) of more than Rs. 4,000 crores and above their production level for the base year.
In the following second, third, fourth and fifth years these smartphone manufacturers have to produce Rs. 8,000 crores, Rs. 15,000 crores, Rs. 20,000 crores and Rs. 25,000 crores worth phones, for the next four years, to actually receive the incentives.
This scheme and other benefits will most likely to be notified next week, and incentives will be given to both foreign as well as domestic manufacturers for next five years.
The eligibility for the foreign investors as well as domestic investors varies, a total of Rs. 40,951 crore has been earmarked as incentives for companies, which achieve the production and minimum incentive targets.
Overall, this can actually prove to be a game-changing move for India because if such support from Govt will be received towards smartphone manufacturers more companies like Apple, Samsung and others will be investing in the Indian soil to actually become the next big player in the smartphone production.

We’ve seen a lot of Lenovo laptops with the latest AMD Ryzen 4000U mobile APUs and the list seems to be keeping on increasing as the upcoming Lenovo ThinkBook 14s as both Energy Star and Geekbench confirm the existence of it paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800U APU.
Previously, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s featured the Intel Whiskey Lake processors along with AMD Radeon RX 540X dedicated graphics options. So, while retaining its aluminium chassis, the laptop will feature the top-of-line 8 core 16 threaded Ryzen 7 4800U which is itself very powerful for professional workloads.
The Energy Star confirms the laptop’s model number as “14s-ARE : 20VB******” and will feature Ryzen 7 4800U paired with 8 GB RAM and shreds some light on the laptop’s power consumption.
On the other hand, the multiple Geekbench listings with “LENOVO 20VB” model number confirms the fact that Lenovo will be giving a bunch of APU options as well, including the 6-core Ryzen 5 4500U and the 8-core Ryzen 7 4700U.
Thanks to @_rogame who rightfully shows a multiple of the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s-ARE (20VB) laptops with the Ryzen 4000 APUs along with 16 GB of RAM which tells that there will be both 8GB and 16 GB RAM options.
There has been some time since Lenovo launched the ThinkBook 14s laptops and as the Renoir APU laptops are being like hot pan cakes in the market, you could expect soon the company to actually announce these laptops whose existence is now confirmed.
Being a witness to a live event from home is not excited at all. Especially in the case of sports. After tolerating the pandemic sports events are started coming on track very slowly. But by obeying so many conditions. Among those, the major one is the absence of the viewers in the stadium or at the venue. So, the viewers will not get the stadium like excitement further? Well, until the tech giant like Facebook is with us, it’s not gonna happen.
Facebook introduces its new Live event companion app called Venue. This app is actually developed by the New Product Experimentation team which belongs to Facebook. The target is to make the viewers interact with others during a live event while staying in their comfort zone i.e. in home. Mainly the developers are trying to remove the solo like experience during a live stream from home. They have some tools for this.
Features that Makes it Happen:
The app, Venue connects all the live event viewers with the commentator or the host. The host holds the freedom to post interactive questions, polls, or a small chat section for the viewers. The users can track the upcoming live events in the app and also can get notified.
Venue also has a feature called ‘Moments’. This is kind of highlights. The moto is same exactly, not to take out the memorable or super exciting moments from the viewers. Whenever a moment created, a notification reached to the fans. They can easily go there to view the moment once again, if they want.
The Venue app is available for both the Android and iOS platforms. As this app is experimental, changes may happen in the future. It is making its debut today in the Supermarket Heroes 500 race partnering with NASCAR.
