Second trophy in the bag for Velocity Gaming

Velocity Gaming’s unbeatable run continues. After conquering the India Today Valorant tournament and qualifying for the PVP tournament in Singapur, now they become the champion in the Skyesports championship 2.0 by beating Noble Esports in a Best of 3 ties by 2-0 aggregate.

Velocity Gaming introduced their Valorant line up in July. The team was formed by SENTINEL. The team was founded with 5 ex-CS professionals of India; EXCALI, RITE2ACE, VIBHOR, ANTIDOTE & AMATERASU. AMATERASU becomes the IGL of the team.

From then they have won all the tournaments they have participated in.

Recently they won the Sky Esports IPL showdown tournament as well which was their first-ever trophy. This becomes their second trophy in the cabinet along with a prize pool of INR 40,000.

It was the fourth meet up between the two teams and Velocity Gaming gets the better of Noble Esports. Today they beat them in 13-3 and 13-7 differences.

Noble Esports is a newly formed team captained by Simar ‘Psy’ Sethi. Psy was one of the best players of CS-GO in the Indian circuit. His teammates REXY, HARSHH, HIKKA, and T1TO were equally good and doing pretty well being a newly formed team. But that was not enough to stop the giant run of Velocity Gaming.

Noble Rexy was the MVP of the first match despite the loss of his team. VLT Antidote was the MVP of the second match with 25 kills.

There is a phase 2 of the Skyesports Championship 2.0 tournament. Velocity Gaming will face Level Zero Esports in the coming weeks.

IPL live broadcast makes Star Sports Hindi as the top-most channel

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is now two weeks old. After the tournament was postponed due to the pandemic, and after many hindrances and altercations, the 13th edition of the IPL finally began on September 19 in UAE.

The fact that IPL is even taking place under the situation is astounding. The sponsors made a lot of investments to make the tournament possible in such a short span. However, obviously, the matches are carried out in empty stadiums. The teams won’t have the support of their 12th man, which is the crowd!

One may think that can have an impact on the business aspect of the sport. However, exactly the opposite of that has happened. Due to the pandemic situation and almost every entertainment source being on hold, more people are tuning in to their TV sets or online platforms. The IPL 2020 is thus set to break all the viewership records.

Star Sports 1 Hindi becomes the number 1 channel

The BARC India has released the ratings of the first week of the IPL (19th September to 25th September). The numbers are obviously through the roof.

Star Sports 1 Hindi has become the number 1 channel across all genres. This includes literally every genre like entertainment, news, etc. The channel for the first time had 1,247,407 (Weekly impressions in 1000’s). Other Star channels Star Utsav and Star Plus are at number 2 and number 3 respectively as well.

1) Star Sports 1 Hindi – 1,247,407 (Weekly impressions in 1000’s)

2) Star Utsav – 1119619

3) Star Plus – 998240

The MI-KKR game registered the most 237,750 (In 1000’s) weekly impressions for any television program of the week. The opening game between MI and CSK earned a viewership of 20 crore people setting a new record.

“Highest ever opening day viewership for any sporting league in any country — no league has ever opened as big as this,” Shah said, citing Broadcast Audience Research Council, which manages the TV audience measurement system in India.

Borja Mayoral to be loaned out to Roma; Jovic to stay at Real Madrid

In a rather unexpected turn of events, Borja Mayoral seems to be on his way out of Real Madrid.

The speculation throughout the summer was that Zidane did not think Luka Jovic was good enough. Hence, of Mariano Diaz, Jovic and Mayoral, the latter had been chosen by the coach.

However, developments over the last few days suggest that it is instead Mayoral who seems to be on his way out. 

As confirmed by elite transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Jovic was offered to many different clubs. However, none of them took part in any advanced talks for the forward. 

Reports last week suggested that Jovic wanted to return to his former club, Frankfurt to rebuild his confidence and gain more minutes on the pitch. In retrospect, it is his display with Frankfurt that ultimately made Real rate him highly enough to bring him to the club. 

Manchester United were also one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in signing the forward on a loan deal. But Romano squashes those rumours in his Twitter post related to the situation.

All that said, it looks as though Zidane is ready to give the forward another chance to change his fate at Madrid. 

Mayoral came out of the Real Madrid Academy, Castilla and never truly managed to break into the first team. He has been sent out on two different loan spells to Wolfsburg and Levante. 

Roma seems to be the third loan destination for the Spaniard as he looks to get regular minutes under his belt.

With the change in ownership of the Italian side, a new era seems to have begun at Roma. The team that once beat Barcelona in the Champions League has now ushered itself into a rebuilding phase, much like Barcelona themselves, and so many other teams right now in Europe. 

This leaves Zidane with Diaz and Jovic as backup to Benzema, who shows no signs of slowing down despite being well over 30.

Gareth Bale returned to Tottenham Hotspur this summer in a loan move for one year from Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale was initially linked with Manchester United. But finally, he returned to his old club.

According to a report by ESPN, Bale was also interested to sign for the Red Devils. But United told him that he is at the top of the priority list if the Jadon Sancho pursuit fell through.

In the meantime, Tottenham wanted their former star in their team again and offered him a loan move. So, Gareth Bale accepted the proposal and completed his move last month.

Gareth Bale started his career at Southampton and then joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2007. He started his career as a left-back. But his excellent skills and scoring ability helped him to establish himself as a right-winger. In his 203 appearances for the North London side, he has already scored 55 goals. Then he made his move to Spain in 2013 to join Real Madrid.

He could have been a good signing for Manchester United this summer. Manchester United has struggled so much this transfer window to sign their targets. The transfer window will end on 5th October. They have only signed the Dutch midfielder Donny Van De Beek this summer.

It can be a disastrous transfer window for Manchester United if they fail to sign some of their targets before the transfer window ends. United fans have already started to protest against their recruiting board and want them to resign soon. This news can be a fuel in the fire.

Under Ronald Koeman, Barca seem to have parted ways with the long favoured 4-3-3 and have adopted the 4-2-3-1 to astonishing effect. 

Yesterday’s game saw Barcelona play against CeltaVigo and secure a 3-0 win despite being a man light. 

Clement Lenglet was sent off just before half time and Barcelona had to play with 10 men.

However, the team with a disadvantage came out on top as Koeman managed to break the curse of Balaidos. 

Up until the game yesterday, Barcelona had been unable to come away with all three points in the last six of their last visits to Balaidos. The boys from Camp Nou were defeated thrice in their six attempts to beat Vigo away.

However, Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona had no problem scoring past their opponents, with Ansu Fati opening the scoring about ten minutes in, fluidly assisted by Coutinho, who seems to have finally found his feet with the Catalonian club. 

Finally being deployed in his favoured number 10 position, the Brazilian put up a wonderful performance which led to Barcelona breaking the curse of Balaidos and continue their impressive start to the season.

Ansu Fati has been absolutely fantastic since the campaign began, and has been building on the glimpses of brilliance we saw last season. The La Masia graduate looks like the rightful heir to Messi, and could even be in the same conversation as the Argentine forward should he be consistent with his performances. 

Leo Messi was brilliant as always, with Koeman lauding the captain’s movement off the ball in particular, in a post-match press conference.

The signs look good for Koeman’s Barcelona, and so far, the former Dutch international manager has been successful in silencing his doubters who didn’t give Barcelona much of a chance.

Microsoft pushes Windows 10 on ARM with its new Surface Pro X

Microsoft has been firmly pushing its Windows 10 on the ARM agenda and it seems like the software giant is quite confident of its new venture. The company recently launched its new that features upgraded hardware and looks. It also released an official statement stating that it will keep releasing products that are specifically made for its new ARM platform.

The Surface Pro X finally comes powered by the custom SQ2 chip. The chipset is based on the much-anticipated Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 silicon from Qualcomm. The SoC sports an integrated Snapdragon X55 5G modem.

The display offers a 2880 x 1920 resolution and is a 13-inch PixelSense display.

The new Surface Pro X can be configured up to 16GB of RAM, and also up to 512 GB of storage.

Connectivity options include:

  • two USB-C ports
  • Surface Connect port
  • nano-SIM port for gigabit LTE
  • Surface Keyboard port

The USB ports however does not support Thunderbolt 3 which is a downside.

Benfica have lost yet another player to the English Premier League, albeit temporarily. Very recently, defender Ruben Dias secured a move to Manchester City. And this time, it is striker Carlos Vinicius.

The Brazilian forward will be moving to Tottenham on an initial loan deal with an option to buy. Spurs will reportedly pay a €3 million loan fee and have an option to buy for €45 million next summer. Vinicius is due for medical checks in London on Friday, ahead of the proposed move.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho has long wanted an efficient and recognised backup to star hitman Harry Kane. And after numerous links with Arkadiusz Milik, Andrea Belotti, Josh King and Wout Weghorst, they have zeroed in on Carlos Vinicius.

But what is it that this player brings to the table and offers differently? For starters, Vinicius has excellent mobility and pace which will see him prove to be a handful for PL defenders. He is often seen drifting to the flanks to leave spaces in the middle and can also deliver good crosses at times. With a height of 190cm, he is also a potent threat to win aerial duels for link-up play in the attacking third and score header goals.

Vinicius also has a devastating left foot which he uses to good effect. With the ability to switch it around, his shots are mostly powerful and curled – testing and beating the goalkeeper more often than not.

Vinicius joined Benfica in the 2018/19 season from Napoli. He had previously been loaned out to Monaco and Rio Ave for more game-time. After a successful season, he did not disappoint for Benfica. The striker scored 18 goals from 33 appearances in the league.

Therefore, Mourinho will be hoping that ahead of an exhausting yet pulsating season with a lot of games, Carlos Vinicius is the impact substitute that can give an extra edge to Tottenham’s gameplay and results.

FIFA 21 is releasing globally on 9th October, EA has already confirmed. Sadly, EA had cancelled the plan of releasing a demo for FIFA 21.

The game will be available to all gamers if they have already pre-ordered on 6th October (Champions and Ultimate Edition) and 8th October (Standard Edition). The Windows pre-load date is on 28th September.

EA has also revamped their EA and Origin Access subscriptions into EA Play and EA Play Pro (available only on Origin). If you’ve EA Play Pro subscription, you’ll get the game on 1st October, 10 days before the global release of FIFA 21.

FUT 21 has already arrived!

So now, coming to the main part! Even if you don’t have EA Play Pro subscription, but have already pre-ordered FIFA 21, you can play the FIFA 21 Ultimate Team starting from right now. Here’s how.

Go to the FUT 21 Web App.

You will need to sign in with your origin ID associated with FIFA 21. You will get 4 steps to choose which country starter pack you want, your home and away kit along with club badge and a loan player.

As I have pre-ordered the FIFA 21 Standard Edition, I got only one loan player pack and chose Trent Alexander-Arnold as I plan to do a Premier League FUT team this year (I had a LaLiga FUT team last year).

You can now check all the current Season objectives and Squad Building Challenges (SBC). The transfer market is also open but sadly you won’t have any FIFA coin cause you can’t play any FUT match. Although you can sell some of your players to get FIFA coins.

8 How to play FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (FUT) even before the game releases on 9th October?

You can also now complete certain SBCs (I completed the starting SBC and got a 2 player pack) and open some packs (I had accumulated some FIFA 21 reward packs while playing FIFA 20). You can also edit your team formations and tactics and make your team ready so that you can play FUT matches as soon as FIFA 21 is ready to be available for playing. Here’s my initial team as of now.
