Marshall Major IV debuts with 80-hour battery life and Qi wireless charging

Marshall is back with its new Major IV headphones, and it borrows the same retro design from Marshall’s design book and a bunch of improvement over its predecessors which includes a minor design change, wireless charging, and humongous battery life

The latest headphone in the Major lineup hasn’t received much of a design overhaul, and it still has that old school Marshall’s staple guitar amp-inspired design. It has black vinyl covering with gold and silver accents.

There are some changes to the ergonomics, and the main components of a headphone are its ear cushions, so it was expected to get better. According to Marshall, Major IV’s ear cushions are softer to the touch and will fit the shape of your ears faithfully.

In the sound department, it is expected to sound just like its predecessors or maybe better since it has the same custom-tuned 40mm dynamic drivers as well as a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency response range. Marshall claims that these drivers are supposed to deliver quite a bass, smooth mids, and brilliant treble for rich music experience.

Well, there are not many changes around the design or sound, but Marshall is changing the whole music listening experience a bit.

The biggest improvement is in the battery life where last generations Major III offered a battery life of just 30hours the Marshall Major IV is all set to beat it by a whopping difference of 50 hours which sets its total battery life to 80 hours that is equivalent to three days.

Connectivity is also getting an update there as Major IV has wireless charging support and USB C port for charging it with some normal charger but if you want you can put it down on a wireless Qi charger and get your Major IV refuelled, or you can also charge it through USB C port if you don’t have a Qi charger handy.

One of the unique features is that you can share the music with your friend over the 3.5mm audio jack which lets you pair it with some other headphones which have an audio jack.

The Marshall’s Major IV is available for preorders for $149 and they’ll be up for the sale starting October 14.
