The Chinese smartphone manufacturer with a wide global footprint has faced a fierce trade ban with the US and has almost crippled its own chip manufacturing. Huawei used to make its own SoCs for smartphones with the help of TSMC and with a complete trade ban with the chip fabricator has led the smartphone maker to look for alternatives, favorites being the Taiwanese MediaTek.
Huawei’s prominent business comes from its premium range of smartphones and so it needs to deliver powerful chipsets with these smartphones. Making its own chips gives them the flexibility to tune and make their own optimizations and now it has to rely on third-parties as to its CEO for the Consumer Business Unit division, Richard Yu did clarify that says that they will no longer be able to make AI chips for smartphones. He said:
“From Sept. 15 onward, our flagship Kirin processors cannot be produced. Our AI-powered chips also cannot be processed. This is a huge loss for us. Huawei began exploring the chip sector over 10 years ago, starting from hugely lagging behind, to slightly lagging behind, to catching up, and then to a leader. We invested massive resources for R&D, and went through a difficult process.”
According to the financial magazine Caixin that the development of the Huawei’s flagship Kirin chipsets will be brought to a halt from September 15. This is mostly due to the U.S. pressure being applied to Chinese tech companies, so effectively, the Kirin 1020 based on TSMC’s 5nm will be the last flagship silicon developed by Huawei.
The only good news for Huawei is that the company will still be able to make mid-range Kirin chipsets for the more affordable smartphones but has to rely on either Qualcomm or MediaTek now. So, these last high-end Kirin chipsets will be featuring on the Huawei Mate 40 series, slated to be announced in Q4 2020, most likely in October.
If you have been looking for a good notebook that is powerful from the CPU and GPU front, then the new Acer Aspire 5 can be a great option. Unlike the Acer Swift 3, this notebook features a dedicated AMD Radeon RX 640 graphics even though it houses a Ryzen 5 4500U which is powerful enough for daily use and even casual gaming.

Liverpool defender Lovren has left the club this summer, so they were in search of a new defender who could also provide competition to Andy Robertson. They tried to sign Norwich City’s Jamal Lewis but didn’t agree with the Canaries’ valuation of £20m for the player.

EA Sports has released the official trailer for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team on Monday. They have highlighted all the new improvements and features that they are bringing to FUT this year.
So here’s a detailed analysis of all the new features and improvements EA Sports are bringing to FIFA 21 Ultimate Team:
FUT Events
EA Sports are introducing two types of FUT events: Community events and Team events.
In Community event each player will contribute to a global XP pool and when the XP reaches the specified amount each player who has completed at least one objective will get the rewards. Meanwhile, in the Team event, you need to choose one team out of up to five teams before Team events begin. After the event ends, the winning team’s players will be rewarded.
FUT Co-op
This is one of the most hyped features EA Sports are going to introduce in FUT 21. EA Sports focused on providing meaningful ways to play with friends. You can now play online cooperatively with a friend be it in Squad Battles, Division Rivals or FUT Friendlies in FUT 21.

Core Mode Improvements
In FUT 21 you will have an alternative placement method to help you find your level in Division Rivals. The first 30 matches played in Squad Battles will factor the difficulty you play at, and the results of your games, into your placement Division.
Another thing which has been added is the new coin rewards for promotion. Each time that you reach a new Division in Rivals, it’s now more rewarding through a one-time coin reward that is added to your club immediately upon promotion.
EA has also introduced Division Rivals match cap. The weekly score will be determined by your first 30 matches. After that playing Rivals won’t increase your weekly score but will still help you in fulfilling Objectives, earn higher Skill Ratings, and climb to new Divisions.
Earlier, there were 5 divisions in Rivals, which has now been increased to 6 divisions. The Qualification point for FUT Champions has also been reduced to 500 points from the previous 2000 points requirements. The Leaderboard has also been updated to Top 200 instead of the previous Top 100.
Meaningful Moments
Previously, increasing a player’s rating was limited to the six face attributes on a player item: Pace, Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Defending and Physical. This didn’t allow EA to target specific attributes to be increased based on the specific events that happen in a match.
From now on, if Trent Alexander-Arnold was to receive a Moments Item to celebrate him as a dead ball specialist, EA Sports will be able to raise his Free Kick Accuracy to new heights without impacting his short and long passing. This feature will help to better reflect a player’s on-pitch abilities in FUT.

FUT Stadium
This is a new addition to the game. Previously you could only play in a pre-build real-life stadium. Now you can customize and build your own stadium.
When you begin FUT 21, you can customize your team’s badge, ball, kits, default celebration, home tifo, stadium theme, crowd chants and base paint colour for your stadium. As you continue to play, and complete milestone objectives, you’ll unlock new locations for tifo, commentary club names, sound and visual goal effects and space to show off the trophies you’ve earned this year.
LIVE FUT Friendlies
With Live FUT Friendlies, EA Sports has combined Squad Rules, with the different House Rules in Friendlies, to create fun and diverse new ways to play that will be active for a limited time.
For example, squad rules can be configured to simple rules like ‘Max 3 players from the Premier League’, or ‘Silver or Bronze players only’. As well as more advanced rule sets like ‘Max 2 from the same league, minimum chemistry 100’.
They will also occasionally create Live Friendlies paired with Objectives with a limited number of total games. They are trying to bring a new dimension to the game that will really create a variety of new ways to play the game year-round.
All players in FUT 21 will start every game at full fitness. Player stamina will still be an important factor inside a match but EA Sports has decided to remove the fitness criteria so that each player returns to 99 fitness after each match.
EA is also removing all Training Items from the game. Fitness, training and healing related staff items have also been removed from FUT 21.
Author’s take
EA Sports has done a good job by listening to the fans and including exciting new features and removing the least liked features. Till now, FIFA 21’s Ultimate Team mode seems to be winning the race but still, it will all depend on the gameplay which can be truly tested after the game releases on 9th October worldwide.
EA Sports has already opened the pre-order links for FIFA 21 and is offering a special FUT item if you pre-order the Ultimate Edition within 14th August. You can also pre-order FIFA 21 from Amazon in India.
