Premier League saves football by altering handball guidelines for referees

0

The talking points from the first three matchdays of the Premier League have consisted mainly of the infuriating handball rule implemented by the authorities.

The responsibility for drawing up the rules of football belongs to the International Football Association Board (IFAB). While the Premier League itself cannot make changes to the laws of the game, it can change the way they are interpreted.

And that is exactly what they have done.

Following a meeting conducted by the Premier League on Tuesday evening, match officials have been asked to be more lenient with the decisions that they make.

The decision was made in consultation with the IFAB, which changes the rules of the game at the end of each season.

Something that most people don’t know is that referees are graded on their performance by their superiors. This affects their pay-bonuses and their chance of officiating high-profile fixtures.

Hence, the referees have no choice but to implement the laws even if they don’t like them. Otherwise, they might be relegated to the lower leagues or might get sacked altogether.

Coming back to the changes made to the infuriating handball rule, the Premier League have asked the referees to apply more practicality and common sense to their decisions on the pitch.

As reported by David Ornstein of the Athletic, if the ball strikes the hand of a player that is above other player’s heads, it would still result in a penalty.

On the other hand, shots being deflected onto a defending player’s arm will be subjected to the ‘natural positioning’ rule.

In other words, the deflection of a ball onto a player’s arm will be subject to the referee’s discretion. It is expected that the change in rules will be applied from Matchday 4, with fixtures being played next weekend.

Fans, players and coaches can only hope that the change in rules will prevent football from being ruined.

Ousmane Dembele on the verge of joining Manchester United?

0

Though constantly hit with injuries, Ousmane Dembele is a class act on his day. However, things look bleak for the Frenchman as Ronald Koeman hopes to raise funds for signing Memphis Depay from Lyon through Dembele’s sale.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Manchester United are the interested party in the winger’s services. Their pursuit of the former Dortmund man looks like an attempt to make amends for their failure to land the current Dortmund star (Jadon Sancho).

All that said, Barcelona are willing to listen to offers between €50-€60 million. However, the final price could go up to €75 million including bonuses.

Considering Barcelona paid €138 million three years ago for the winger, it could be a last-ditch attempt at raising funds. Especially after the La Liga board banned them from making any signings until they sell first.

So far Semedo, Suarez, Rakitic and Vidal have made their way out of the club. However, none of them have raised a lot of money for the club to reinvest.

Will Dembele Fit In?

Dembele is extremely talented. Let’s get that completely out of the way. On his day, he can be one of the best young forwards across the globe.

Manchester United have been starting Mason Greenwood out on the right for quite some time. The youngster is one of the most talented players in the league, but at 18, the pressure of getting goals in bigger games could be too much.

It is hence, ideal to sign a quality option to compete with the youngster and take some of the burdens off of him. Daniel James has been unable to secure himself a starting position, being signed only last year.

With the Welshman being unable to deliver on a regular basis, Manchester United’s pursuit for Dembele looks justified.

Frenkie De Jong back in the squad, Dembele continues his recovery at Barcelona training ground

To answer the question, Yes he will. Dembele will fit in at Manchester United. However, there are other two things that stand out at this juncture.

1. Will he be able to stay fit?

Dembele has constantly been out on the sidelines for Barca. With a move to the Premier League, the physicality of English football could be too much for the 23-year-old if he’s not careful.

2. Manchester United’s defensive problems

As shown by their recent games against Palace and Brighton, Manchester United are extremely shaky at the back.

While signing a right-winger is most certainly on the cards, a new centre back and a left-back are more important for the team.

With reports surfacing yesterday that United were unwilling to pay €8 million more for Alex Telles, things might not be as smooth as fans might think for the financial angle of the club.

Manchester United set to trigger one-year contract extension clause for Paul Pogba

0

Manchester United are now ready to trigger the one-year extension clause of Paul Pogba’s contract. According to reports United are considering triggering the clause soon.

Paul Pogba came back to Manchester United in 2016 in a 4-year contract with an option to extend the contract for another year. Paul Pogba is a graduate of the Manchester United academy. After that, he joined Juventus in 2012. In his 4 seasons in Italy, he had established himself as a top midfielder. In his 178 appearances for the Italian side, he has scored 34 goals. He has also won 4 Serie A titles with Juventus. Then he came back to his boyhood club. In his 159 games with United, he has scored 32 goals. In 2018, the Frenchman has won the World Cup as well with his country.

Paul Pogba was often criticized for his consistency. He was not in a good form as well in his first two Premier League games this season. Though United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keeping faith in the French midfielder. Ole said, “He missed a lot of the pre-season because of his illness, so he’s not had internationals or the friendly against Villa.”

“So, of course, the two 60, 65 minutes he’s had will help him along and he’ll just get better and better.”- he added.

Manchester United will face Tottenham this weekend. Before that, they have a Carabao Cup tie tomorrow. Some pundits, fans are asking Ole to try Donny Van De Beek in place of Paul Pogba. We need to wait until the weekend to see how Ole deals with this situation.

The new flagship gaming laptop from ASUS will cost you a hefty Rs. 2,79,990 in India

The Taiwanese OEM has mastered the art of making dual-screen laptops already and has been implementing it for quite some time now. Back in April this year, Asus introduced us with a unique dual-screen gaming laptop with beefy hardware and a hefty price as well.

You get the powerful combo of Intel Comet Lake-H gaming CPUs and NVIDIA RTX Super GPUs. Finally, the new flagship gaming laptop has arrived in India and will be available via Amazon and Flipkart along with Asus Exclusive Stores and ROG Stores as well.

Specifications

The Zephyrus Duo 15 features a 15.6-inch display which comes in two options, you can either choose a lower resolution with 300 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms response time panel. Or else, you can go for a 4K resolution which meets 100% of the Adobe RGB colour standard which is Pantone validated for colour accuracy.

Then there’s the key attraction which is the 14.1-inch 4K (3840 x 1100) second display (ScreenPad Plus) that sits above the keyboard and below the main display. The ScreenPad Plus has been improved with an hinge that provides a slight 13-degree angle towards the user.

The ErgoLift design enhances the airflow through the fans, an important feature for a high-end gaming laptop. The laptop weighs only 2.4 kg and is just 21 mm thick. It comes with per-key RGB lighting support with 1.4mm key travel and n-key rollover while numpad is baked into the touchpad itself and can be activated with the touch of a button.

The battery life is questionable as the laptop includes top-level specifications and a 4K display, and even though having a slim profile, Asus has managed to fit a 90 Wh battery. A 240W adapter comes bundled inside the box or can be charged with a 65W USB-C adapter.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming earlier than expected

0

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming slightly earlier to Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows 10, PlayStation 4, and Steam on November 10. All thanks to the next-gen Xbox console which made it to release three days before the actual release date.

The game was originally set to release on November 13 but, Sega, the publisher of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, decided to bring forth the release date to align it with the release of Xbox Series X and S consoles on November 10.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the eighth main release in the Yakuza series. It is a single-player role-playing video game promised to be a bit different than previous games in the series. The new Yakuza will come with a turn-based RPG type combat and a four-person battle team that will support you in fights. Like previous games in the Yakuza series, there will be side-quests that can be taken up by the player to gain additional rewards and will be able to enjoy the various side actions around the map such as karaoke. A new side activity presented in this game is Dragon Kart, which is quite identical to other kart racing games in terms of its gameplay.

Yakuza - Like a Dragon is coming earlier than expected __TechnoSports.co.in

The game is all set in Yokohama rather than Tokyo. It features a new lead character, Ichiban Kasuga, a junior member of the Tojo Clan’s Arakawa Family, who spends 18 years of his life in prison covering for a murderer that he didn’t commit. He took the murder’s blame, hoping that this will make him a hero in the Tojo Clan and keen to honor an untitled “debt” he owes his patriarch named Masumi Arakawa. After 18 years, when he got released from prison, he discovers that nobody recognizes him, and no one from his family is even waiting to meet him. He goes to confront Arakawa and got shot by him in the chest, and after that old Yakuza stuff, he survives the shot and seeks justice, power, and revenge.

The synopsis of the story seems to be thrilling with a classic crime tale set up just like the previous Yakuza series. We hope this one too to perform well in all the platforms.

IPL 2020 – RR vs KKR: Match preview, Fantasy XI team and Prediction

The Indian Premier League is getting heated day by day. Day 12 of the IPL will feature an interesting match as Rajasthan Royals will take on Kolkata Knight Riders.

Royals are coming off probably one of the best and historic matches in the history of the IPL. They made the record-breaking highest chase ever as they chased 223 runs against KXIP. They have won both of their games, however, will like to rectify the errors they made.

KKR, on the other hand, rectified some errors from their first match. They played really well in their last match against SRH and proved why they’re one of the most balanced teams in the league.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals’ batting looked phenomenal. Skipper Steve Smith and Sanju Samson picked up from where they left as they scored 50 0ff 27 balls and 85 off just 42 balls, respectively. Rahul Tewatia stole the show by scoring 53 off 31 balls, including five sixes in an over.

However, bowling-wise they will have to make certain adjustments.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR got things back on track after rectifying their earlier mistakes. They earned a dominating win over SRH in their second match. Every department looked great. Shubhman Gill, Nitish Rana, and Eoin Morgan took the side through. However, they will have to consider their strategy of opening with Narine. He seems to be struggling with short balls, especially in large stadiums of UAE.

As per bowling is concerned, KKR was happy as Pat Cummins was able to established some rhythm. He was accompanied by Shivam Mavi and Varun Chakravarthy.

Fantasy XI team

SANJU SAMSON (9.5) (C) – Samson has been in unreal form. He’ll therefore be our captain.

STEVE SMITH (10) – The RR skipper has been in phenomenal form.

JOS BUTTLER (10.5) – Buttler couldn’t do much in his first match. However, he as been in great form in the international circuit.

JOFRA ARCHER (9) – Archer bowled great as well and not to forget his innings where he hit Ngidi for four consecutive sixes!

EOIN MORGAN (9) – Morgan has looked in great form. He can hold the innings together when Rana, Gill, or Russell attack.

RAHUL TEWATIA (8.5) (VC) – Tewatia has looked great both with the bat and ball. After his heroics, he’ll be our vice-captain.

ANDRE RUSSELL (10.5) – Russell has been silent, however, it’s just a matter of time until he explodes.

SHUBMAN GILL (8.5) – Gill looked in great form in the last match and took KKR home.

SHIVAM MAVI (8) – Mavi has proved himself in his two matches.

SHREYAS GOPAL (8.5) – Gopal bowled relatively well and took 2 wickets in his last match.

VARUN CHAKRAVARTHY (8) – Chakravarthy impressed everyone with his bowling especially after taking the wicket of David Warner.

PREDICTION

Both sides are equally matched and coming off two wins. It’s extremely difficult to bet against RR keeping in mind their current form. However, yesterday’s match against SRH vs. DC showed a lot of assistance for spinners and KKR has better spinners.

KKR can definitely pullout an upset.

iPhone 12 is not out yet but you can still preorder a one but not your typical iPhone’s but Caviar’s iPhone 12 Pro and its sibling Pro Max which received a special nostalgic treatment to pay tribute to Apple’s first computer Apple I.

For those of who don’t know Apple I was Apple’s first PC desktop which was personally designed by Steve Wozniak and it has a very raw look as it was made of wood and later on September 30 1977 the production of Apple I was stopped and 43 years after Caviar announced the commemorative edition of two upcoming iPhones including iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro and in any way these custom made iPhone 12’s.

Advertisement video for the Caviar edition iPhone 12 says that these iPhones will be made from a fragment of the original Apple I. The back panel of this customized iPhone 12 is not made of some expensive metal or glass instead it is made of the wood just like the Apple I and it features a titanium screen which replicates the Apple I monitor with “Hello World” being printed on it and keys that spells out “COMPUTER” along with a piece of the original motherboard from Apple I signed by Steve Wozniak.

The Apple I iPhone will be available in two variants, the Apple I Light which is based on iPhone 12 Pro, and can be purchased for $9,900 the base storage variant while the iPhone 12 Pro Max-based Apple I is available starting at $10,460.

The iPhone 12 Pro based Apple I Light has a minimum of 128GB storage while the highest variant with can be purchased for $10,690 which offers 512GB of internal storage meanwhile the Apple I which is based on the iPhone 12 Pro Max also has a minimum of 128GB storage and its top-end variant with 512GB of storage is available to purchase at $11,150.

Well if its true which it is 99.9% then it confirms few rumours about the iPhone 12 series that it has three cameras and a LIDAR sensor and they have minimum of 128GB internal storage.

Moreover, there are not many Apple I iPhones available so just grab them before it goes out of stock as Apple I Light has 49 units available worldwide and just 9 Apple I’s are available so if you have some spare body organs or you have some plans for Mars trip then you can buy one and show it off to your leftover body organs.
