IPL 2020 – MI vs KKR: Match preview, Fantasy XI team and Prediction

Day 5 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 will feature another clash of titans as Mumbai Indians will welcome two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders to start their campaign.

The mighty Knight Riders are known for their aggressive mindset in batting, bowling and now even in their coaching. They have appointed one of their own, former NZ captain Brendan McCullum as their head coach. He along with mentor and T20 veteran David Hussey is expected to bring some changes to the side.

However, they will have the hungry lions Mumbai Indians against them. MI would be looking for redemption after their defeat against CSK.

Mumbai Indians

A disappointed Mumbai Indians are coming off a defeat against CSK in their first game. MI started well with Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma giving brisk starts. Saurabh Tiwary played a fast-paced 42 as well. However, they became too aggressive and threw away wickets at inappropriate intervals. They didn’t possess a binding innings as that of a Faf du Plessis.

Jasprit Burmrah had a bad day with the ball. However, MI would be more frustrated with silly tactical mistakes like extras and misfields. They’re always known for starting slow, so obviously they’ll iron out the mistakes as the tournament progresses.

Kolkata Knight Riders

The team has a perfect combination of extremely attacking options and players who can play the anchor role as well. KKR are looking forward to promoting hard-hitting Andre Russell at number 3. The middle-order will be under the safe hands of captain Dinesh Karthik and English captain Eoin Morgan. IPL tested Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi, and Rinku Singh will add the finishing touches.

KKR has invested in many young pace bowling options like Prasidh Krishna, Shivam Mavi, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. They have to select either Pat Cummins or Lockie Ferguson to lead the attack. The other bowlers, however, will have to facilitate accordingly. Spin bowling has never been an issue for KKR. Sunil Narine will lead the attack and with changed bowling action, he is expected to be even more dangerous. He will be assisted by the experienced Kuldeep Yadav.

Fantasy XI team

ROHIT SHARMA (10.5) – Hitman looked in good touch.

QUINTON DE KOCK (9.5) – Just like Sharma, De Kock looked in good form.

ANDRE RUSSELL (10.5) (VC) – If promoted at 3, he’ll be even more dangerous. Also, he’s a very handy bowler. Thus the vice-captain.

EOIN MORGAN (9) – Morgan is coming off of really good form from his international series against Australia.

SHUBMAN GILL (8.5) – The explosive opener will make a place in our team.

SAURABH TIWARY (8) – Tiwari looked in great touch and justified his place in the side before Ishan Kishan.

SUNIL NARINE (10) (C) – Narine’s bowling will be lethal in UAE, also if he opens and scores few runs which he usually does, it’ll be a double bingo.

KULDEEP YADAV (8.5) – He’s a good T20 spinner and can pick up crucial wickets.

KRUNAL PANDYA (8.5) – Pandya can bat and pick up crucial wickets as well.

JASPRIT BUMRAH (9) – We can give Bumrah another chance keeping in mind his bowling prowess.

RAHUL CHAHAR (8) – Even though he went for runs in his last match, he does have the ability to take wickets.

PREDICTION

Mumbai Indians are expected to make some tactical changes from their first match. The Kolkata Knight Riders are a well-balanced side as well. But MI can just have the advantage of playing their second game, where they can rectify the mistakes and can probably edge out KKR. Although, if Russell or Narine gets going, they can turn the match at any moment.

Affordable smartphone overshadows the smartphone shipments in Q2 2020

The coronavirus pandemic has spared no one in the last few months and especially the economic growth of companies and even countries but despite the hard-hitting pandemic smartphones have been continued to be sold through the second quarter of 2020.

According to a recent report from International Data Corporation (IDC) reveals that the consumers are buying smartphones from the mid-range segment which costs less than $400 or around INR 30,000 and the report also suggests that the mid to high-end segment will also see an upwards trend in coming months.

The report constitutes that the low-to-mid end segment which generally consists smartphone priced over $100 to a maximum of $400 has dominated the global smartphone shipment with a 60% market share this year which is expected to grow to 73% by the end of this year while the overall smartphone value is expected to go down from  $458.5 billion in 2019 to $422.4 billion in 2020 which is a 7.9% decline.

In price-sensitive markets basically Asia excluding Japan and China, Latin America, Middle Eastern countries, and Central Europe the budget smartphones have shown their dominance while in the United States of America smartphones under $200 which are considered as entry-level smartphones witnessed a rise of 27% in Q2.

Well, the digital schooling revolution or the school from home has given the much-needed push to the budget smartphones since parents are looking to save money but they can’t compromise with their offspring’s studies that pull them towards a budget smartphone which provides a better value proposition.

The IDC report also suggests that the Chinese companies dominated the sub $400 market in spite of the ongoing revolt against China but companies like Samsung and Apple have also done really well.

Apple’s latest offering the iPhone SE which is a mid-range smartphone has done exceptionally well and sold around 10 million units worldwide which confirms the trend.

The pandemic has surely hit the market but according to reports its reviving and people are cheaper phones according to their needs and budget but still, smartphones are selling.

ISL 2020: Ishan Pandita could play in ISL this year

Young Indian talent Ishan Pandita can play in ISL this year. Ishan has played in lower division leagues in Spain and played for La Liga side Leganes as well. His agents are in contact with three ISL clubs for a potential transfer.

Ishan is a natural centre-forward but is also effective in wings. In 2016 he signed for the Leganes Youth team as a 17-year-old and became the very first Indian player to sign for a Juvenil-A side, the top tier of youth football in Spain.

Currently, Ishan is playing for Spanish club Lorca FC. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, he had offers from two-second division clubs of Spain. But after the economical breakdown, the situation has changed and Ishan may return to India. Ishan said, “You know the thing is, it’s changing every day here. I didn’t initially want to come back because things were going well; it had taken me a long time to get used to the country’s football culture and pace, but I was finally there.”

“Now with the situation getting worse every day, I might have to return to India and I am considering playing either in the I-league and ISL for a year if the situation doesn’t get better. If you ask me, the pace here is way faster; not to undermine the Indian league, but I can feel I’m getting better and opportunities are opening up for me.”, he added.

According to some Pundits, he can be a perfect replacement for Sunil Chhetri in the Indian national team. Not only that some of the Pundits also see him as the biggest thing of India in near future. Espanyol and Deportivo La Coruna legend Walter Pandiani admitted that he sees the younger version of himself in Ishan.

Ishan Pandita is now 22 years old but he yet to get a call in the national team. If he plays in ISL it will surely catch the eyes of everyone and he can get a call in the national team as well.

HMD Global is presenting us the smartphone with a 6.39″ HD+ display panel having the typical brightness of 400nits and punch-hole camera cut-out at the top left corner. Although HP has launched quite a few gaming laptops with the latest Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors, in their consumer line of laptops there has been none of them except their overprice HP Envy x360. So, to make the new Ryzen based laptops affordable, HP has launched a new HP Pavilion 15 with AMD Ryzen 4000U APUs.

This is more kind of an upgrade rather than a new series totally, so a lot of things including the design remain the same as the previous HP Pavilion 15. Obviously this is the budget range from HP as the base variant of the laptop costs just $599 and will be available in the market from next month on HP.com and other online retailers in the US.

So, the new HP Pavilion 15 features a 15.6-inch FHD touch IPS display with 250 nits of peak brightness, covering 45% NTSC color gamut and a screen-to-body ratio of 85%. Considering this as a budget laptop, it does surprise me with its very slim bezels, and having touchscreen support is kind of an added bonus.

Under the hood, you get to choose between the 6-core Ryzen 5 4500U and the 8-core Ryzen 7 4700U, while the former APU comes with 8GB of RAM, the latter can be configured with up to 16GB. However, much like budget notebooks, the RAM here is non-upgradable but there’s the fast 512GB NVMe SSD on both variants. 

Much needed features like a 720p webcam, Wi-Fi 6 support, and a fingerprint reader for faster unlocks have been included with the new HP Pavilion 15. Also, the integrated Vega 6/7 integrated graphics shall handle most of your daily needs and work-related issues without any problems at all.

The one USB Type-C port included can be used for multiple purposes including as a display output, data transfers and even for charging as well. On the other hand, you do get two USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack, along with an HDMI 2.1 port.

The HP Pavilion 15 is juiced up by a modest 3-cell 41Wh battery, with which you cannot expect a huge battery life though. However, the laptop supports fast charging as just 45 minutes of charge can take the battery life to 50%. HP promises a battery life of up to 8 hours of battery life under light workloads.

Around a week ago, almost all the specs of the OnePlus 8T were leaked. You can check the article here. As per the leaks, the handset should have a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. In the exclusive interview with TechRadar, Pete confirmed, “the OnePlus 8T comes with a 6.55-inch, 120Hz fluid display, which is the same size as [the] OnePlus 8” and this is added to provide users “a buttery smooth display experience”. It will also improve the “overall viewing and gaming experience considerably.” Apart from these, he also said they are using a 2.5D flexible panel for the first time that can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1100nits.

Pricing :-

As I said earlier, the pricing of the OnePlus 8T is leaked on the Amazon Germany page. According to that information, the 8GB/128GB variant will cost €599 which is roughly Rs.51,700 whereas the highest 12GB/256GB variant will come at €693 i.e. around Rs.59,800. However, OnePlus has a habit of pricing aggresively in India.

Earlier today we’ve got a leak about Apple’s planning to introduce a new member to the family of iPhone 12, which might be named the iPhone 12 Mini. The pricing of this device we can expect around the US $500, making it an ideal entry-level iPhone.

Now the main question stands on the chipset. Because, if it will have quite a mid-range pricing (in the case of iPhones), then the company has to scale down something to make a profit from it.

So, there is a rumor in the market that Apple seems to use a scaled-down version of the A14 Bionic on the iPhone 12 Mini. In place of the A14 Bionic chip, sources have told that Apple is working on a mid-range chip (tentatively) called the B14.

This B14 chipset is expected to make its debut alongside the iPhone 12 Mini and future iPhone SE devices. This upcoming chip is expected to get its focus on efficiency rather than raw power. The Geekbench score suggests that the toned-down B14 chip is like a double-edged sword.

In the case of Apple iPhone SE 2020, the company has used the A13 Bionic chip on that device with a price tag of US$400. People actually very much liked this iPhone SE 2020 and it is one of the most sold iPhones in 2020. So, cheaper Apple phones will be universally welcomed by fans and enthusiasts alike. The iPhone 12 Mini will definitely let Apple make headway into the hypercompetitive mid-range smartphone market.

All about Garena’s “Free Fire x Money Heist” Event

After PUBG getting banned in India, Garena Free Fire is trying to its fullest to capture the PUBG market by giving many offers in less money, and recently it introduced Hritik Roshan aka Jai, as a playable character. Now, Garena has made a collaboration with the digital streaming giant Netflix to bring Money Heist’s “Professor” and his crew to the game.

In Free Fire, tons of contents have been added recently by Garena, a Singapore based company. One of the new content is the introduction of the “Free Fire x Money Heist” event. This event started on September 13, and it will end today. A massive in-game heist took place on September 20, named “Peak Day”.

 The official press release of the event stated “Maxim was detained by the police during the heist, and is now counting on his partners to get him out. Free Fire players all around the world have been tasked by The Professor to retrieve and secure Maxim while retrieving the stolen money.”

The developers also added the “Money Heist” game mode to the game under this event. This game mode is a special crossover that brought  2 teams of 4 players each head-to-head to print a specific amount of cash in the stipulated time. The game mode kicked off on September 20 and will remain till today.

The publishers also released two mini web series clips on YouTube – “Plan Bermuda is Underway” and “Plan Bermuda Chapter 2“, which shows how the “Professor” from recruited the Garena characters from the game for the most major heist. There was also a third and the final episode released on September 19. 

A funny live-action comedy mini-movie was released on YouTube in Hindi by the publisher. Garena also flew a giant “Professor” blimp across the sky of Mexico City and collaborated with local street artists of Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico to cover walls and buildings with “Free Fire x Money Heist”-themed artwork.
