Google launches new Nest Audio smart speaker, arriving on 5th October

0

Google finally has announced its all-new Nest Audio smart speaker which is powered by the Google Assistant as usual. As per the announcement, this smart speaker will be available starting 5th October across 21 countries at $99.99.

It is coming with a vaguely rectangular shape with soft corners. Google says this design will help the device to blend in with your home’s decor. On top of the main hardware, a fabric is wrapped around completely. A total of five colors for the fabric will be available – Chalk, Charcoal, Sand, Sky, Sage. Four LEDs are also added in the smart speaker that lights up when receiving any voice input or announcing some information.

It is obvious that along with the new design, Google also improved the audio part. The Nest Audio is 75% louder than the earlier Google Home and has a 50% stronger bass response. The company added a 19mm tweet and a 75mm mid-woofer.

As the Nest Audio is Google Assistant-enabled, it can do everything other smart speakers do, like playing music, managing smart home devices, getting weather reports, news, and so on. A stereo or other configuration for multiroom audio setups can be formed with a couple of units or more.

No doubt, the new Google Nest Audio smart speaker is the rival of Amazon’s smart audio devices. Let you know, Amazon also updates its portfolio recently with the new Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers. Now, customers have to decide which one is suitable for him/her. The pricing of both companies’ products is also nearly the same.

Manchester United only want loan deal for Barcelona star Dembele

Reports had surfaced yesterday that Ousmane Dembele was on the verge of leaving Barcelona permanently. While that no longer seems to be the case, there is a lot more clarity on the case.

It was heavily rumoured by Dembele’s camp that Barca were willing to listen to offers around €75 million, including bonuses. However, today the updates say that Manchester United are NOT interested in signing the Frenchman permanently.

They only want a loan deal for the winger as their primary target still remains Jadon Sancho.

The club had most recently made a €100 million bid for the Dortmund star, but the German club rejected United’s advances. Their demands of €120 million for the English wonderkid seem to be non-negotiable. And this time, the yellow and black club are firm on their stance.

Manchester United have repeatedly tried signing Sancho, but have never managed to meet the valuation of the youngster by his current club. A summer that promised to be one of the most memorable ones in recent memory, is now looking to be a shocker.

With Mason Greenwood being only 18, and Daniel James being unable to cement a position for himself in the starting line-up, it is only natural that a club of Manchester United’s stature would look for quality reinforcements to challenge at the highest level.

With the club competing for silverware on four fronts, it is only natural that they have access to the best of talents to truly compete with the rest of Europe.

Dembele has been keen on staying at Camp Nou and fighting for his place in the starting lineup. However, Memphis Depay has long been rumoured to be on the radar of new boss Ronald Koeman.

The departure of Dembele could surely open up the opportunity for Barca to land Depay before the transfer window shuts on next Monday.

Neymar has €34.6m in debt and fines with the Spanish State

Former Barcelona starlet Neymar is charged for €34.6 million to the Spanish state in unpaid taxes and debt accumulation. According to multiple reports in Spain, the Brazilian star along with some other players and some small clubs from tier 2 and 3 are also on the list.

Neymar is said to owe the Spanish treasury a grand total of around €34.6m as of December 31, 2019.

Neymar joined FC Barcelona in 2013. He spent 4 seasons in Spain and won multiple trophies including a famous treble in 2015 in Blaugrana colours. In 2017 he moved to France to join Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record fee of €222 million.

However, the fine has also been charged against some clubs like Real Murcia for €10.7 million, Hercules for €3.7 million, Lleida Sportiu for €1.5 million, Real Jaén for €1.2 million, and Reus Deportiu with €1.1 million.

Former Barcelona and Real Zaragoza defender Gabriel Milito is also in the debt list for €1.8 million.

Neymar is not the first top player to appear in the list of Spanish Tax officials. Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar’s Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi was also on the radar of them earlier.

Cristiano Ronaldo was given a 2-year prison sentence in 2019 for committing tax fraud while he was in Madrid. Ronaldo paid €18.8 million as fine at that time.

Lionel Messi was also given for a 21-month prison sentence in 2016. He also paid a €2 million fine in 2016.

EFL Carabao Cup: Both Manchester clubs progress to the quarter-finals

Brighton and Hove Albion 0-3 Manchester United

The Seagulls hosted the Red Devils for the second time in a week. However, with rotated squads, as is natural in cup ties, things did not go so well. While Manchester United fans will be happy to see their team go through to the next round, Brighton did not give United a fight similar to that of their previous meeting.

The scoring opened right before half time when Scot McTominay found the back of the net to make it 1-0. A wonderful delivery from a free-kick taken by Juan Mata found McTominay’s run into the box, who buried the header into the corner.

Brighton’s best chance was that following a brilliant piece of possession play by Molumby in the 67th minute. An extremely well hit shot by Trossard was saved by Henderson in a tremendous effort to keep it 1-0.

A brilliant flick from the outside of the foot by Donny Van de Beek found Juan Mata, who made no mistake, making it 2-0 for the visitors.

The showstopper undeniably goes to the free-kick converted by Paul Pogba in the 80th minute. The Frenchman curled the ball in from 20 yards out, hitting the post and into the back of the net. No chance for the keeper at all.

Burnley 0-3 Manchester City

Both Manchester Clubs put three past their opponents and kept a clean sheet to proceed to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Manchester City opened the scoring after Sterling buried a cross from Benjamin Mendy with the left foot to make it 1-0 for the Citizens.

Sterling found himself on the scoresheet again as Manchester City made it 2-0 up right after the second half began. A brilliant turn in possession saw a counter-attack led by Torres. His cross from the left-hand side found Sterling who took his time to beat the keeper.

The last goal of the match saw Ferran Torres net his first as a City player.

While Peacock-Farrell made a number of good saves to keep Burnley in the game, Manchester City were unlucky to not have put more past the hosts. There were plenty of chances for the visitors to net more goals, but they won the game nevertheless and are through to the quarter-finals.

Google unwraps the Pixel 5 for $699

0

Finally, Google has unwrapped its latest Android flagship, dubbed as Google Pixel 5. The company has fixed the price of that device at $699. This phone is the successor of the Pixel 4 which was launched last year.

Google has added a lot of improvements in that successor model, Pixel 5. In the Google Pixel 4, the motion sense gestures were very much hyped. Let’s check out what are the specifications the Google Pixel 5 offers to its users.

The Pixel 5 runs on the latest Android 11 OS and is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC chipset. It is quite surprising that Google is not using a flagship processor in that phone like the SD 865 or 865+. Maybe Google can offer the new one at a lower price.

As per the display, this phone offers a 6-inch (2340 x 1080) OLED panel in a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which features a hole-punch selfie camera. It’s good that Google has removed the Motion Sense camera, by which users can enjoy a full edge-to-edge display this time, with no notch or bezels.

The 765G SoC is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (non-expandable) which is a UFS 2.1 storage. This phone features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There are a few things in this phone, which make it a premium from Google like IPX8 water resistance, reverse wireless charging, more RAM, and a stronger Corning Gorilla Glass 6 panel.

Unfortunately, there is no support of the 3.5mm headphone jack on this phone. This phone comes in two different colour variants: Just Black, Sorta sage.

Coming to the battery, this phone is fueled by a 4,080mAH battery with the support of 18W fast charging (reverse charging and wireless charging supported). It also has the IP68 waterproofing. It has an “Extreme Battery Saver” mode that promises you to stretch your battery life to up to 48 hours.

This phone has every other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type C, and so on. Most importantly, its phone supports 5G connectivity (both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, which means that it should work with almost any major 5G network).

Now coming to the most interesting part of any Pixel smartphone, which is the camera. The Google Pixel 5 features a dual rear camera setup which includes a 12.2-megapixel main camera with a 77-degree field of view and both optical and electronic image stabilization, and a new 16 megapixel ultrawide that shoots at a wider 107 degrees. The whole camera module is loaded with a lot of interesting features, and also some of them are totally new. Google has added the option to take portrait mode shots using its Night Sight mode. Also, there is a new AI-powered “Portrait Light” mode, which lets you adjust the lighting on portrait mode shots, a “Cinematic Pan” setting for panning shots, and three new stabilization modes for shooting smoother video.

Microsoft’s push for x64 based apps for windows on ARM set to revolutionize notebook industry

0

This year saw many innovations in technology. But the most beautiful thing to happen might be Windows 10 on ARM. With Microsoft finally pushing ARM-based Windows OEM devices to its fullest. Microsoft has even released its latest Surface Pro with Qualcomm snapdragon.

Unlike other processors, Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs offer excellent battery backup without compromising performance.

The Windows manufacturer has been pushing for more windows app support on ARM. It has already worked on making Microsoft Edge faster all the while consuming less battery. It has even announced that a native Microsoft Teams client which will be optimized specifically for Windows 10 on an ARM is under works.

But the latest announcement from Microsoft might just make windows 10 apps more compatible with ARM-based PCs.

Microsofts x64 emulation will start to roll out on Windows Insider Programs from November. Currently, windows on an ARM can run native 32-bit ARM and 64-bit ARM apps, but can only emulatedx86-32 bit apps.

The inclusion of x64 emulation for Windows on an ARM will allow plenty of modern windows apps to run on ARM. One might claim that app-emulation won’t provide the original experience as compared with native apps but the alternative is not having to run any apps.

Microsoft is also working on bringing Xbox Box Streaming to users.

Microsoft unveiled its new Surface Pro X device, but the release of x64 based emulation seems to be the current big news in the market. Sources claim that the new Surface Pro X’s processor will be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8ex Gen 2 5G.

The company also released that Mircosoft edge will not be the only native windows app to be optimized for windows on ARM. It is also optimizing visual studio code, office 365, and teams to be natively launched for windows on arm with more compatibility.

With the support of windows 10 apps increasing, ARM-based notebooks seem like the future of performance-oriented windows notebooks.
