IPL 2020: Here are the 6 states where the Dream11 Fantasy game has been banned or not allowed

The highly-renowned Dream11 Fantasy game is now banned or not allowed in 6 states of India.

Dream11 Fantasy game is now not allowed in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh State government banned all online gaming platforms in the state. However, Andhra Pradesh is not the only state where Fantasy fans can’t participate in the paid contests of Dream11.

The 6 states where Dream11 fantasy game has been banned or not allowed

  1. Andhra Pradesh
  2. Assam
  3. Odisha
  4. Telangana
  5. Nagaland
  6. Sikkim

According to Dream11’s own declaration along with Andhra Pradesh, fans in Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland, and Sikkim will not be able to participate in Dream11 and online gaming on other fantasy platforms.

“Due to recent changes to the Gaming Act in the State of Andhra Pradesh, users from Andhra Pradesh will not be able to join paid contests on Dream11.”

“The laws in Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland, and Sikkim are unclear on games of skills that may be played for a fee. Hence, residents of these states are also not permitted to play pay-to-play formats of any online games”, declares Dream11 on its official website.

Dream11 making huge leaps in the cricketing and online platform industry

Dream11 is making big strides in the market this year. The fantasy sports platform first made a huge breakthrough by becoming the title sponsors of the IPL 2020.

They then became co-presenting partners of on-air broadcast and took many team sponsorships. Dream11 are also the co-presenting partner of Disney+ Hotstar for the LIVE streaming of IPL 2020.

Dream11 was started by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth in 2008. In just over a decade, it has turned not only the biggest mobile gaming platforms in the country but has also emerged as one of the biggest cricket advertisers in the world. It also became the highest overall spender of the IPL 2020.

The company’s total investment in the league is set to cross the whooping figure of 500 crores. They first bought title sponsorship of the league for 222 crores. Their commitment as a co-presenting partner with IPL live broadcast will be another 120-130 crores. They have also confirmed sponsorship deals with six franchises of IPL 2020. All put together, the figure is expected to touch 500 crores.
