The Taiwanese OEM is on a spree to launch new notebooks in India and it seems no stopping for them. ASUS is aiming to compete with its home competitor Acer who recently launched a bunch of new 11th Gen Intel processors powered laptops in India.

ASUS will not only launch its premium Zenbook 14 laptop with updated Tiger Lake processors but also bring a budget laptop series with the same Intel benefits.

The ASUS VivoBook Ultra 15 is a familiar laptop for many AMD fans out there who have already tasted the notebook’s Ryzen 4000U version. At its price, the VivoBook Ultra 15 is outstanding; however, the same case cannot be assured with the Intel versions.

However, one thing remains sure that the specs will be almost the same as the AMD counterpart but with some Intel benefits on the hardware front, obviously. From the banners, the overall design of the laptop remains the same as the AMD variant.

Manchester United are back to the winning track after the 3-1 victory at Goodison Park against Everton. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with his team’s response after a week of criticism.

But he was also worried about some of his players’ injuries. He reported 3 injuries after yesterday’s match. Luke Shaw was withdrawn and replaced by Axel Tuanzebe following a hamstring injury.

“Yes. Victor’s (Lindelof) back, Marcus’s (Rashford) shoulder, Luke Shaw’s hamstring. That’s three I can remember from the top of my head. I hope everyone else is okay. David didn’t play [in midweek] but he had a groin problem before the game.”- he said about the injury issues of his team.

Solskjaer was also annoyed with the schedule of the match. Manchester United was forced to play a lunchtime kick-off on Saturday after a vital UEFA Champions League game on Wednesday night in Turkey. This is a very serious issue considering the recovery time for players.

“Give us another 24 hours or 26, 28 hours to recover and you’ll get a better game from us.”- the United boss complained.

“The first half was top. Get on the ball, play and the goals we scored were fantastic.”

“In the second half they went into survival mode because they’re tired, they’re on their knees but fair play to them. You could see, of course, Scott, Fred, Victor didn’t play [on Wednesday], Juan didn’t play the full game in Turkey. You could see they’ve got legs but the others were down on their knees.”-he added.

Manchester United’s next match is against West Bromwich Albion after the international break. Hopefully, his players will fit enough.

2020 is not a very much acceptable year in every aspect, especially in the case of commerce. Electronics and smartphone market all over the globe have faced a huge loss throughout the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2020 because of the curse of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indian smartphone market was not different at all. Several lockdowns and other critical issues throughout those months put the business of smartphones in a backward motion. But time after time the situation got better and in the third quarter of this year, things are getting better in the Indian smartphone market as per the new market research. Right now, India is one of the top 3 in terms of a positive change in shipments. As per the numbers, almost 54.3 million units (or 17% more YoY) sold in 3Q2020.

Now let’s divide the smartphone category into three basic segments: Lower-midrange (less or equal to US$200 or INR 14,799), upper-midrange ($200-500, up to INR 36,998), and premium/flagship segments ($500 or more). If we check the statistics, among those categories, 84% of smartphones have been sold in the lower-midrange category. This resulted in a 2% drop in the average selling price. Interestingly, the sale of premium/flagship smartphones has increased by 91% in the third quarter of 2020. In this case, Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus grab the top 3 positions. Not only this, but Xiaomi has also given an upper hand to its business in the Indian market. Like every month, we are seeing Xiaomi launch another new product whether it is a smartphone or any electronic gadget.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Realme has also passed the landmark of selling 50 million smartphones globally in the third quarter of this year, grabs the fourth position in India. It has shipped around 8 million units and has beaten Samsung or most phones sold online by a brand in India for Q3 of 2020.

Fortnite might have a shot at being available for iPhone users

Fans of Fortnite were disappointed upon hearing the news that their favorite game was removed from the app store and was no longer available. And it seems that the lawsuit between Apple and Epic games isn’t going to end any time soon. However, with the increase in cloud gamin streaming, the process of playing games is drastically changing.

Now, Nvidia has developed a version of the GeForce cloud gaming service that runs in the mobile web browser Safari. The service will enable users to play Fortnite on their iPhones without worrying about the apple not supporting the game.

Epic has claimed that the 30% commission Apple charges on in-app gaming purchases is anti-competitive. It limits the freedom of developers and is draconian. Apple, on the other hand, has accused Epic of wanting a “free ride.”

The case is due to go to trial in May 2021 and could take years to be resolved. Nvidia currently offers its GeForce Now service for Mac, Windows, Android, and Chromebook computers. It has not officially announced bringing its service to iOS. But sources claim that the company is expected to do so before the winter holidays this year.

However, considering apple, it is still possible that Fortnite gets excluded from the list of games offered by Nvidia’s gaming platform.

“Nvidia is not commenting on any new clients coming to the service or on the availability of any game on unannounced or unreleased platforms. Fortnite is not confirmed for GeForce Now on platforms beyond PC, Mac and Android”, reported a spokesperson for Nvidia.

Microsoft is also currently developing its cloud service for ios devices. With both Nvidia and Microsoft building cloud gaming platforms, epic games might hope to bring their game back to the ios platform.

Apple releases iOS 14.2 with tons of new features

Apple has started rolling out iOS and iPadOS version 14.2 today. The new update brings new features and over 100 new emoji for iPhone and iPad users. The new emoji’s include a Ninja, the pride flag, a coin, bubble tea, a dodo, lungs, and many more. The new OS update also added features for the new Intercom for HomePod smart speakers that Apple announced alongside the Apple HomePod Mini.

According to sources, the new update also brings features that allow Magnifier to detect people nearby. It can further report their distance using the LiDAR sensors on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The new update has optimized battery charging for the AirPods to slow the rate of battery aging. It does so by reducing the time AirPods spend fully charged. The company has also added an alert feature. It let users know if their volume levels can impact hearing when using headphones.

Apple HomePod mini launched at $99

The iOS 14.2 update brings new AirPlay controls that allow users to stream content throughout their homes. Another useful update is that the iOS version 14.2 offers an option that provides stats about exposure notifications to health authorities without identifying the user.

The OS update also brings along with it a ton of bug fixes on iOS 14.2. The company has fixed several bugs relating to Home Screen dock issues, camera viewfinder, the lock screen keyboard, photos widget. Also, bugs have been selected for voice memos, Netflix video playback, wireless charging, and many more.

The iOS 14.2 update is already available for iPhone users. To update their iPhones, users need to go to Settings > General > Software Update > Download and Install on their devices.

Nvidia’s Advanced Optimus finally ready for OEM implementation

Nvidia announced its Advanced Optimus was announced at the CES 2020 earlier this year. The new Optimus will come with the bonus of simultaneous G-Sync support. However, the laptops with regular Optimus will have to forego the G-Sync or rely on inconvenient system reboots to switch between the two features.

As usual, it’s the OEM’s who are making a delay in adapting to the latest tech. They are late in integrating Advanced Optimus onto consumer-ready laptops. However, Eluktronics is claiming to be the first to implement Nvidia’s new technology with the 15.6-inch Mech-15 G3 and Max-15 Ultra.

Will Kiryluk, Eluktronics CEO stated, “My hope is this will eventually wake up some sleeping giants to inspire them to bring more and exciting solutions to their customer base as well. Whether consumers are choosing our brand or another, my intention is and always has been to change this game, literally.“

The Eluktronics laptops will be powered by the Core i7-10870H instead of the Core i7-10875H. The device will come with GeForce RTX 2070 Supergraphics and a BOE 144 Hz 1080p display and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal paste. As mention, the notebook will be using Nvidia’s latest Optimus technology.

The new Nvidia Optimus feature requires certified panels with additional hardware switches and ICs. Naturally, the laptops’ price will be a bit high due to the availability of Advanced Optimus. We have seen tech companies launching new technologies. But the OEM’s often delay in adapting to this new tech.

We already know the delay behind PCIe 5th gen implementations. As such, at least one OEM announcing the integration of advanced Optimus is good news.

Manchester City come into the game with a renewed Gabriel Jesus and Nathan Ake, who seem to have gained a good amount of match fitness. But, Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy will most probably remain on the sidelines for this one. 

Jürgen Klopp confirmed that Liverpool would be without Thiago and Joel Matip, who is bruising with minor injuries of their own. Van Dijk will obviously be a big miss, as he continues with rehabilitation from his ACL injury.

TACTICAL MATCH-UPS

The battle between Raheem Sterling and Trent Alexander Arnold will be a fascinating subset to watch out for. CONCLUSION

City needs to win today in order to get within 2 points of Liverpool, despite having a game in hand. Guardiola’s men have been on a three-game winning streak that includes results against Marseille, Sheffield and Olympiakos. But, Liverpool is no slouches either and will look to take their own winning momentum into the match and give City a hard time in taking home the full 3 points.
