Elden Ring Comes with a New Trailer, Also Announces the Release Date

Now, we got our first look at Elden Ring. There are lots of questions arising after watching the three-minute trailer. The game is going to be released on 21st January 2022.

Elden Ring is a collaboration between Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin and Dark Souls developer FromSoftware. The development team of FromSoftware and the game director Hidetaka Miyazaki are responsible for writing the story of Elden Ring but outsourced the world, lore, and mythos to Martin.

In 2019, Miyazaki told in an interview, “Even when compared to the Dark Souls series, I believe this title will provide even more variety in the ways for players to overcome challenges and tweak their tactics when facing enemies. Due to this, the scale of the world and its narrative, as well as the depth and freedom of exploration have increased dramatically,” Miyazaki said. “It is without a doubt our biggest title yet in terms of sheer volume.”

“There are many definitions to the term ‘open-world,’ and I might not be phrasing it correctly, but we have simply tried our own approach to a game with a large, open field to play in. This mythos proved to be full of interesting characters and drama along with a plethora of mystical and mysterious elements as well. It was a wonderful source of stimulus for me and the development staff”, he added.

It seems, Elden Ring features many similar elements to Dark Souls, such as swords and sorcery, giant mythical monsters to fight, and summonable allies. The last time we heard about this game was in 2019 when FromSoftware and Bandai Namco officially unveiled it.

Elden Ring will be launched on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in the next year.

Vertical is a U.K.-based electric aircraft startup. It plans to conduct the first test flight of its new VA-X4 aircraft later this year. American Airlines plans to buy approximately 250 (or up to a whopping 1000) of Vertical’s upcoming flying taxis. Both the airlines and financiers look to back the emerging technology.

The aircraft are electric and they take off and land vertically similar to helicopters. They could fly past congested city roads to get passengers to and from airports in way less time. These flying cabs will of course take time to become a reality and American’s order is also dependent on Vertical aircraft’s approval by regulators and other milestones.

Vertical said its VA-X4 aircraft has the capacity to hold 4 passengers and a pilot. It can fly at speeds of more than 300 kilometers an hour and has a range of more than 150 kilometers. Vertical is aiming to begin commercial operations from 2024.

In February, United Airlines also announced a team-up with US regional carrier Mesa Airlines to invest in flying taxi firm Archer. Archer’s eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft is a part of the nearly $1bn order!

This race towards a more efficient and time-saving mode of transport will be an amazing one to keep an eye on. America has shown a growing interest in this space and we can expect some electric flying taxis flying in the American skies soon!

According to ESPN’s Moisés Llorens, the Barcelona board has decided to remove Garcia Pimienta, the head coach of Barcelona B. This is a completely unexpected turn of events. Pimienta was rumoured to be in the running to succeed Ronald Koeman as head coach of the first team, alongside the likes of Xavi. The news, therefore, comes off as a shock.

The 46-year-old was Barcelona’s longest-serving coach, having spent his entire coaching career with the Catalan club. At Barcelona B, he developed players such as Riqui Puig, Moriba, and Collado. His faith in the young talents and total football style of play would have earned him a strong contender to succeed Koeman.

Joan Laporta took the action since he reportedly intends to fully restructure La Masia. A large part of his presidential campaign was based on restoring Barcelona to its roots, which included reformulating the youth system. Under Joan Laporta, a number of employees in senior positions at La Masia were fired and replaced with former occupants in order to re-emphasize La Masia’s importance in the Barcelona DNA.

Despite the Spanish coach’s impressive performance, the president is likely seeking a clean slate to start his first full season as the club’s president. Xavi is deemed a clear favourite to take the job. In a recent interview, the former player stated that he was ready to coach the first squad.
