XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse review: A Premium Wireless Gaming Mouse with ARGB effect

0

Last month XPG had announced a new variant of its Alpha series which offers one of the most premium Gaming RGB mice. The Alpha series has a wired gaming mouse named XPG Alpha Gaming Mouse. This also looks the same as the new one as XPG has not made any major changes on the design part of this mouse. Now coming to the name, XPG has dubbed it as XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse.

After almost a month we got our hands on the XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse and now we are using it in our daily activities. The XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse has a 16000 DPI sensor which makes it one of the most sensitive wireless RGB gaming mice in this segment. The Ergonomic Gaming Design of the XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse made it the ‘reddot’ winner of 2022.

Design and Build Quality

XPG is well known over the globe for its computer accessories and parts that are built for the power they add to your allover built. Now coming to the XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse we can see that it retains almost the same 2022’s ‘reddot’ winning Ergonomic Gaming Design similar to the wired version of the Alpha Gaming Mouse. This design gives a proper fit of the mouse in your palm, not too big not too small, and provides a decent grab size with a proper finger-to-button distance on all sides.

On both sides of the mouse, you can observe and feel textures that give a proper grip while holding it. The Ergonomic Gaming Design of the XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse also comes with a thumb rest section on the left side which in our opinion is a must for any gaming or productivity mouse. At the bottom of the mouse, we can see a few rubber padding for a smooth surface sliding experience, a toggle switch that switches between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connection, and a slot for the 2.4GHz receiver.

The Wireless Gaming Mouse retains a classic 6-button design which provides ease and comfort to use for long hours. At the top, we can see Right and Left clickable buttons, a scroller wheel in the middle, a DPI button beside the scroller, and two programmable buttons on the left side of its body. This simple design is tried and tested and everyone loves it for its simplicity and easy-to-access placements of the buttons. This button also glows with an RGB effect.

You can see RGB elements embedded on the scroller and on the XPG brand logo at the top. There is another RGB element present below the Left and Right buttons which emits the light from the front at the lower side. The RGB lighting can be controlled by the XPG Prime software application.

As mentioned earlier, the mouse can fit perfectly in your palm and can be used by almost everyone. The mouse is bigger than any traditional office mouse and the size of a standard gaming mouse but interestingly it is quite light, weighing just 98 ±5g (without cable). Overall, the built quality of the XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse is very premium and solid.

Performance: Gaming & Productivity

The XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.1 and Wireless 2.4G connector. You can also use this mouse wired by connecting with the in-the-box Type-C cable. In all the connectivity cases you will get a similar kind of performance from the mouse.

This gaming mouse comes with an energy-efficient, high-performance PAW-3335 sensor from Pixart, it provides a range of DPI settings from 100 to 16000 to meet the requirements of all types of games. In other words, these high-quality sensors help in the precise mapping and positioning of the mouse on a surface, which results in better accuracy.

These features help mostly while playing PC games which require the utmost precision of any gaming mouse in real-time. We have tested this mouse wirelessly while playing games and the response from the same was amazing. No lag or any issues were faced while playing games with this mouse. Similarly, in our daily work, we focus mainly on productivity and this mouse turns out to be a game-changer. The size and design of the mouse match my grab size of the palm and by far this mouse gave me the best comfort while working for long hours.

Programmable Buttons

As mentioned earlier, XPG Alpha Wireless Gaming Mouse has 6 programmable buttons which are made of premium Omron switches capable of 60 million clicks. The button clicks on this gaming mouse are not so quiet but are also not loud like any other gaming mouse. These button clicks feel kind of satisfying as it’s better to have a minimal sound effect than complete silence, which enhances the feedback to our figure tips justifying the purpose of using a gaming mouse.

You can also assign system commands, shortcut keys, and keyboard commands to these 6 buttons. You can also create powerful macros, which let you input sequences of commands in a row that executes every time you click the assigned button.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey meets FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Doha

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey and Secretary-General Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran met FIFA President Gianni Infantino at the FIFA Office in Doha, Qatar on Friday to discuss the roadmap for the development of Indian football.

Chaubey, a former goalkeeper who has represented both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal in his playing days, was accompanied by the national federation’s new secretary general Shaji Prabhakaran.

FIFA President hosts first meeting with AIFF President

Chaubey was elected as the president of AIFF after he beat former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia 33-1 in the September 2 elections. The 45-year-old Chaubey, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader from West Bengal, is the first former player to be elected as the head of Indian football’s governing body. A day later long-time administrator Prabhakaran was appointed to the post of secretary general of the AIFF.

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey meets FIFA President Gianni Infantino in Doha

After being elected as President on 2 September, Mr Chaubey immediately revealed bold reform plans to develop football in India, with a strong focus on infrastructure, grassroots and women’s football. Speaking after the meeting, President Chaubey thanked Mr Infantino for his words of congratulations and praised the role that FIFA plays in developing football across the globe.

“I received a call from the FIFA President. He wanted to meet me in Zurich or Doha later this year. I briefed him the importance of the next few days. We have the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 next month, and told him that we need to discuss amongst ourselves how we plan to take things forward. We will then present our plans to him in detail,” Chaubey said.

Infantino confirmed he will visit India in the near future, it said. “All the possible high-impact projects and programmes concerning Indian football will be finalised before the FIFA President’s visit to India,” the national federation said in the statement.

On August 27, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided to lift the suspension that was imposed on the All India Football Federation (AIFF). With the suspension lifted, the hosting rights of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022, scheduled to take place between October 11-30,2022, too were restored to the country. President Chaubey ended by revealing his hopes for the upcoming tournament, and how he and the FIFA President discussed harnessing the opportunity it creates across his vast country.

The decision was taken after FIFA received confirmation that the mandate of the committee of administrators that was set up to assume the powers of the AIFF Executive Committee had been terminated and that the AIFF administration had regained full control of the AIFF’s daily affairs. FIFA and the AFC will continue to monitor the situation and will support the AIFF in organising its elections in a timely manner.

Instagram begins testing ‘Repost’ Feature

0

At last – the long awaited “repost” feature in Instagram is coming soon. But not for all users. On September 8th, a Meta representative confirmed that they plan to test the repost feature soon to a select group of people. As of today, Meta has not publicly announced this soon-to-be feature.

TechCrunch has stated that this `repost` feature was spotted on Wednesday by Matt Navarra, a social media consultant who posted images in a Twitter thread.  Users have been able to share public posts for their followers but only to their Instagram Story or through direct messages.

Instagram begins testing ‘Repost’ Feature

Instagram ‘Repost’ Feature

Sharing someone else’s post for your own followers to see isn’t completely new for Instagram users. Users have been able to share public posts for their followers but only to their Instagram Story or through direct messages. Now, the test would let users share a post on their feeds without having to screenshot it and repost it or go through another source, reported The Verge.

On Thursday, Instagram confirmed that it is planning to test the repost function with a small number of users. “We’re exploring the ability to reshare posts in Feed – similar to how you can reshare in Stories – so people can share what resonates with them, and so original creators are credited for their work,” a spokesperson from Meta tells TechCrunch.

Instagram begins testing ‘Repost’ Feature

Based on the screenshot evidence, it looks like users will get a Repost tab within their profile. This tab will likely house all reposts a user has shared to their account. This tool will be comparable to retweets on Twitter or the popular reshares on Facebook and Tumblr that are also being tried on TikTok. In Instagram’s case, reposts will appear in your followers’ feeds and will also be displayed on your profile in the designated repost tab.

It seems that Instagram has been working on reposts for at least a few months now, as app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi spotted the feature in development back in May. According to screenshots shared by Paluzzi, users will be able to find the repost option in the share menu. The screenshots also suggest that users will have the option to add their own thoughts when resharing a post.

Reposting has never been available in the main feed part of the Instagram app but it is a key feature on Facebook and Twitter. Instagram is likely aware that many of its users already use the Stories share feature and also use direct messages to share posts with friends, and is now trying to give users a better way to widely share posts they like.

Anthony Martial reveals injury mistreatment under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

0

Anthony Martial has hit out at former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over his treatment. The Norwegian has been accused of not allowing Martial to rest while he was injured, and playing him nevertheless.

The Frenchman spent the latter half of last season on loan at Sevilla, and is now back at Manchester United. However, he is still out on the sidelines with an issue. But, he is part of Erik Ten Hag’s plans for the season when he returns to full fitness.

Anthony Martial hits back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to injury treatment

“The last two seasons, I have regularly played injured. People don’t know that I couldn’t accelerate during the four months following the Covid season. Solskjær tells me that he needs me, so I play,” Anthony Martial told France Football

“Given my game, if I can’t accelerate, it becomes very complicated.”

“And I get criticised — the coach never bothered to tell the media. Obviously, I end up getting injured for good and when I come back, finished, I don’t play anymore.”

“I took it very badly. I had a feeling of injustice.”

“You are asked to sacrifice yourself for the team, and behind you are dismissed.”

“For me, it’s almost treachery. That’s all I hate. I can be blamed, but not for being fake.”

Raphinha speaks out on his failed Chelsea transfer this summer

0

Brazilian winger Raphinha has opened up about his move to Barcelona from Leeds United. The player was locked in a transfer battle which involved Chelsea and Barca both trying to sign him.

Chelsea had reached an agreement with Leeds before the Spanish side. But, due to the player’s wishes, the move to Stamford Bridge did not go through and he waited for Joan Laporta to come and sign him.

Raphinha opens up on Barcelona transfer after Chelsea rejection

“Rejecting an offer from Chelsea? Yes, because my dream was to wear the Barca shirt,” he said to La Vanguardia. “I followed them since I was young, since Ronaldinho arrived. I wanted to be a part of it.

“The desire was stronger than any other proposal, no matter how powerful it was financially. I knew that I might have some difficulties to come and to be registered. But I was also aware of the effort the club was making.

“So I decided to trust and adapt to the economic conditions that existed. I was born in La Restinga, a very poor neighbourhood in Porto Alegre. I had a very poor childhood, so to speak.

“But my family taught me that humility and values are much more important than material things and that has saved me on many occasions.”

“I talked to Neymar about a move and he told me that if I get to Barcelona then I won’t regret and he was right,” he added.

Raphinha scored his first goal for Barcelona recently in the 3-0 win against Sevilla, and has also assisted another.

Early buyers are flocking to Apple iPhone 14 Pro models

0

The iPhone 14 Pro versions will predominate Apple‘s initial wave of orders, claims famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him the company’s first wave of orders will be heavily dominated by the iPhone 14 Pro models.

That’s 85% to be exact. And the iPhone 14 Plus option will account for less than 5% of sales. That’s the same kind of sales performance that caused the Mini line to be scrapped.

Early buyers want to buy Apple iPhone 14 Pro models

Early offline pre-order data in China shows exactly that, and Kuo says that’s what usually happens with early sales. However, sales of the Pro options are slightly higher this year than in previous years. This is likely due to the large difference in features between the standard Apple iPhone 14 series and the Pro versions.

Early buyers are flocking to Apple iPhone 14 Pro models

It’s clear that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have received larger upgrades, unlike the regular iPhone 14, which received minor upgrades compared to its predecessor, and the 14 Plus, which appears to be priced too close to the Pro models.

This is probably due to the greater difference in features between the standard iPhone 14 series and the Pro iterations. Obviously, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max got bigger updates as opposed to the regular iPhone 14, which got minor updates over its predecessor and the 14 Plus, which is seemingly priced too close to the Pro models.

Early buyers are flocking to Apple iPhone 14 Pro models

It is also worth noting that the pricing of the iPhone 14 series varies from markets. In the US, prices have remained the same as last year, although the ‘Pro’ models have gotten a Rs 10,000 price hike in India. However, it is still early days and popularity of the ‘Plus’ variant could rise in the future as users who want a larger screen without paying the premium price for the Pro Max. So once consumers start analysing their alternatives, perhaps sales of the iPhone 14 Plus will increase globally.

TATA Motors will launch Tiago EV at an affordable price

TATA Motors will launch Tiago EV – Which could start at Rs.10 lakh to make it the most affordable passenger EV in the Indian market

The Indian automobile giant has recently confirmed on world EV day that they will be launching a more affordable Tata Tiago EV, based on the same Tiago ICE Petrol hatchback. This is no surprise that TATA has the potential of launching multiple Electric cars but the urgency has been pretty low because of the high demand for Tigor and Nexon EVs.

However, as we see new EVs getting announced like the new Mercedes AMG EQ and Mahindra XUV400, they had to announce a new one at the World EV Day yesterday. So, Shailesh Chandra from Tata Motors made an announcement that they will be launching the new Tiago EV, presumably the same one which they showcased previously.

As this CNBC-TV18 tweet tells you, Tata Motors plans to increase its production as the EV momentum builds in India in the last few years now. The automobile giant is targetting to sell around 50k EVs in FY23 and the confirmation comes that more affordable EVs will be brought to the market by them.

The interesting thing though is that the upcoming Tiago EV could be priced below the current Tigor EV which starts at Rs.12.5 lakhs and that could presumably mean that this upcoming electric hatchback could start at Rs.10 lakhs or even less. Now, this could really be revolutionary for buyers who have always wanted an EV but aren’t looking to burn their pockets.

Obviously, these kinds of hatchbacks sell pretty quickly, and producing them in bulk is a major challenge for automakers like Tata Motors. However, the company is working out to utilize the recently purchased Ford’s Sanand plant and is also trying to get an additional capacity of 3 lakh units manufactured from this plant.

Well, are you excited about the new era of EVs in India? Do let us know your thoughts on this upcoming Tiago EV and its potential in our country…🙌😁

Intel Sapphire Rapids 48-Core CPUs Matches AMD’s Zen 3 EPYC 64-Core CPU in new Benchmark

0

According to @BenchLeaks on Twitter, two prototype Intel Xeon Platinum 8468 Sapphire Rapids 48 core server processors were recently evaluated in Geekbench 5. Even though these chips aren’t the top-of-the-line 56-core models, they displayed some outstanding performance numbers, matching AMD’s best-of-the-best twin EPYC 64-core configuration in the same benchmark.

Twin Xeon Platinum 8468 CPUs with a combined 96 cores and 192 threads were installed in the Sapphire Rapids system that was shared. A single-threaded score of 1,257 points and a multi-threaded score of 74,586 points were produced by the two processors working together.

Twin AMD EPYC 7763 processors with a combined core count of 128 cores and 256 threads are one of the best dual AMD EPYC processor configurations we could locate on Geekbench 5 for comparison.

In the single-threaded test, both Intel Sapphire Rapids and AMD’s EPYC chips scored 1249 points, and in the multi-threaded test, they scored 75,539.

Sapphire Rapids
credit: tomshardware

As a result, there is just a 1% performance difference between the two platforms’ single- and multi-core performance. However, if we examine the performance of each core individually under a multi-threaded workload, Intel is 23% quicker than AMD.

This is significant since single-threaded benchmarks only reveal an individual core’s peak performance when all other cores are inactive, allowing that core to utilise extra power and thermal reserves. Individual core performance under load thus reveals the characteristics of each core under the most demanding conditions.

However, it should be noted that Geekbench 5 is not a particularly helpful benchmark for outcomes of real-world performance. So, treat this information with caution. On the other hand, Geekbench at least allows us to get a broad picture of how well Sapphire Rapids performs.
