AMD recently introduced its Phoenix APUs, which will be available on laptops as the Ryzen 7040 series, but it appears that the company is also working on a second revision known as Phoenix 2. There have been reports of a second AMD Phoenix 2 APU for some time now, but the most recent occurrence of the chip was discovered within Coreboot patches that list both the Phoenix (1) and Phoenix (2) APUs. The AMD Phoenix 2 APU, as discovered by Coelacanth-Dream, is not the same as the standard Phoenix APUs and has certain differences that make it an entirely new SKU. It remains to be seen whether Phoenix 2 will be released.
Moving on, the AMD Phoenix APUs are identified by two GFX1103 “RDNA 3” IDs. The first of these IDs is the standard GFX1103 R1, which has 512 KB of L2 cache.

The second, GFX1103 R2, has half the L2 cache (256 KB). The Phoenix 2 APU appears to be the successor to the Mendocino APUs and could be targeted at low-power mobility platforms, with the next-generation Steam Deck handheld console being one of the many possible implementations of this chip. According to Kepler L2, who has been following the Phoenix 2 APUs for a while now, the new chips will also have a lower compute unit count, making them sound like a more conservative version of the Phoenix APUs. Microcenter is slashing prices on Intel’s 13th Generation Raptor Lake CPUs ahead of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D launch. While Intel has denied any price cuts on its older 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, some retailers have begun discounting the 13th Gen Raptor Lake lineup in anticipation of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D launch at the end of this month. One could interpret this as a response to AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs, which will be available by the end of this month, but if Intel truly wanted to set these prices as a competitive move, we would have seen them across multiple retailers, which isn’t the case here. But that’s not all; the leaker also claims that Intel’s Meteor Lake CPUs will benefit from a twofold increase in GPU performance thanks to the new tGPU or Tiled-GPU architecture, which will include new Xe GPU cores. The specific configuration is said to include 128 Execution units with clock speeds exceeding 2.0 GHz.

According to Raja Koduri, the Meteor Lake CPUs will use a tiled Arc graphics-powered GPU, creating an entirely new class of graphics on a chip. Meteor Lake CPUs will use the all-new Xe-HPG graphics architecture, which will enable increased performance while maintaining the same level of power efficiency as existing integrated GPUs.

It’s with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to one of the greatest batsmen to grace the cricketing world, Aaron Finch. The Australian opener, who had an illustrious career spanning over a decade, has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket.
Aaron Finch has decided to step down from international T20 cricket, following his decision to quit ODIs last year and a gap until Australia’s next T20Is after the home World Cup, where they failed to make it to the semi-finals. He captained the team to their first T20 World Cup win against New Zealand in Dubai in 2021 and made 428 runs at 38.90 in the recent BBL tournament for Melbourne Renegades.
Finch realized that he won’t be able to play until the next T20 World Cup in 2024 and feels it’s the right time to step down and give the team time to plan and build towards that event. He expresses his gratitude to his family, teammates, Cricket Victoria, Cricket Australia, and the Australian Cricketers’ Association for their support throughout his international career. He cherishes the memories of winning the T20 World Cup in 2021 and the ODI World Cup on home soil in 2015 as team success is what he played the game for. He considers it an incredible honour to have represented Australia for 12 years and play with and against some of the greatest players of all time.
