France have qualified for the quarter finals of the 2022 World Cup, defeating Poland 3-1 in their Round of 16 fixture. They will be facing England for a spot in the last four of the tournament.
The first half saw the Polish come out attacking on all fronts, and they were quite impressive with the chances they created. However, they could not produce a goal to show for it.
Mbappe and Giroud shine in France’s Round of 16 win

While Olivier Giroud missed an absolute sitter from point-blank range, he made amends by scoring later in the first half. The AC Milan forward became France’s all-time highest goalscorer with his strike, surpassing Thierry Henry.
France were able to take control of the game much better in the second half. And on the counter attack, Kylian Mbappe produced a powerful, clinical finish to make it 2-0. The PSG star then doubled his tally with a goal from the left flank. Although Szczesny was able to get a hand to it, the shot was just too powerful to stop.
Robert Lewandowski was able to get a consolation goal with the final touch of the ball from the penalty spot. His initial effort was saved by Hugo Lloris, but it had to be retaken since he was off his line. And he made no mistake the second time.
This year’s International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) saw Intel submit multiple research papers outlining their plans to investigate novel 2D transistor materials and 3D packaging options. The new information supports Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger’s previous claims on forthcoming microarchitecture design advancements. Moore’s Law will be alive and well for the foreseeable future, according to Intel’s Gary Patton.
Earlier this year, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang pronounced Moore’s Law dead during a Q&A session for the 4000-series launch. Similar predictions were made by Huang during the 2017 Beijing GPU Technology Conference. And, like in the past, Intel isn’t buying what Nvidia’s leather leader is selling.
The company’s 2023 IEDM research submissions include a number of techniques, materials, and technologies that could help the semiconductor behemoth back up past claims of delivering chiplet-based trillion transistor CPUs by 2030.
Intel’s new transistor and packaging research focuses on improving CPU speed and efficiency, bridging the gap between classic single-die CPUs and innovative chiplet-based designs.

Some of the innovations mentioned in the submitted documents include considerably reduced gaps between chiplets to boost performance, transistors that can maintain their state even when power is lost, and new stacking memory solutions.
Gary Patton, Intel’s vice president and general manager of Components Research (CR) and Design Enablement, said that “seventy-five years since the invention of the transistor, innovation driving Moore’s Law continues to address the world’s exponentially increasing demand for computing. At IEDM 2022, Intel is showcasing both the forward-thinking and concrete research advancements needed to break through current and future barriers, deliver to this insatiable demand, and keep Moore’s Law alive and well for years to come.”

The CR group’s research has uncovered new techniques and materials that will help the corporation reach the trillion-transistor mark. The latest hybrid bonding study from the company is a tenfold improvement over the previous year’s presentation. Other research highlighted in Intel’s submissions includes designs that use novel materials with thicknesses of no more than three atoms, memory that can be placed vertically above transistors, and a better understanding of interface defects that can negatively impact quantum data storage and retrieval.
Intel’s Components Research Group is the company’s internal leader for innovative technology development. CR engineers create novel materials and technologies to aid semiconductor producers in their continual battle to downsize technology to the atomic scale. The group is in charge of Intel’s extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) technology, which has helped the company continue to lower node sizes while enhancing overall semiconductor capabilities. The work and timelines of the group are typically five to ten years ahead of commercially accessible technologies.
AMD’s chief technical officer, Mark Papermaster, announced at a conference that the company’s next-generation Instinct MI300 accelerated processing unit for data centres and high-performance computing is already operational in AMD’s labs. The APU will power the El Capitan supercomputer, which is scheduled to exceed the 2 ExaFLOPS mark sometime in 2024 using AMD’s Zen 4 and CDNA 3 architectures.
AMD’s Instinct MI300 is a multi-chiplet APU with Zen 4 general-purpose x86 cores and a CDNA 3-based computational GPU that share a unified on-package memory pool that includes Infinity Cache and HBM. AMD will build CPU/GPU chiplets for the MI300 using TSMC’s N5 (5nm-class) fabrication process, but the company has yet to reveal how many CPU cores and GPU stream processors will be crammed into the hybrid processor.
Putting CPU cores and GPU accelerators into a single package and allowing them to use unified memory is the Holy Grail of supercomputing because it not only combines the best of both worlds (general purpose processing and highly parallel acceleration), but it also dramatically simplifies programming and makes it easier to extract all of the performance potential from execution engines.

The AMD Instinct MI300 APU will power the El Capitan supercomputer, which will be deployed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in 2023 and will be completely operational in mid-2024.
AMD intends to release the Instinct MI300 processor in 2023, therefore it is not surprising that the chip is now operational in AMD’s labs. Meanwhile, it is uncertain whether the company would supply the MI300 in large quantities to clients outside of the supercomputer industry next year.
AMD’s Instinct MI300 will pique the interest of the supercomputing community because it will be the industry’s first data centre and HPC-grade APU. In the meantime, AMD’s Instinct MI300 will not be the only hybrid processor for data centres with x86 and GPU resources available in the next years. For example, Intel is developing the Falcon Shores product, which will include x86 and Xe-HPC cores in the same box and will be available in 2024.
Netflix has released the new trailer for the series titled, ‘Dance Monsters’. This is one of the most awaited and top-class animations having 15 amateur dancers compete with the prize of $250,000. Recently, Sony has planned to bring its highly popular PlayStation games to PC. In 2022 alone we have seen popular titles like God of War, Marvel’s Spiderman Remastered, Miles Morales and Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection relaunched specifically for PC.
Now, PlayStation has worked with the respective Game Studios and NVIDIA as well as AMD to bring high-end graphics to all of these games so that they won’t look shabby and utilize the sheer performance a dedicated Gaming PC can provide. Personally, having played God of War and Spiderman Remastered PC already with NVIDIA graphics, I genuinely became a fan of these games.
This Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection consists of both UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End and UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy games, playing as Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer in their own standalone adventures. In both stories, you can confront their pasts and enjoy a thrilling journey to find hidden treasures with super-sharp 4K resolution and Ultra-Wide Monitor support.
As we know, the storytelling, graphics and gameplay of these PlayStation games are already superb, now, bringing tech like DLSS along with it makes the game accessible to a number of gamers regardless of the hardware they have. We tested out the game with a higher-end RTX 3070 Ti paired with Core i7-12700K and Dell G15 equipped with RTX 3050.
Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection Performance on NVIDIA GPUs
In my brief time spent playing the game, I noticed that PC-centric enhancements such as improved UI for game options and reimagined user interfaces do make the gaming experience much more polished. Having a DualSense™ controller does help because with it I totally enjoyed the haptics and optimizations that make a real difference.
The graphical improvements such as adjustable Texture and Model Quality, Anisotropic Filtering, Shadows, Reflections and Ambient Occlusion, make the game really heavy for even GPUs like RTX 3080s or RX 6800XT. While we have yet to test the new RTX 40-series cards, we are sure this game’s 4K Ultra settings will also challenge high-end cards.
As you see in the benchmarks with an RTX 3070 Ti, the gaming experience was quite good at 4K but when used DLSS I saw better 60+FPS with minimal loss in graphics at Quality settings. On the other hand, the Dell G15 with 11th Gen processor and RTX 3050 also gave good numbers at FHD and was enhanced with DLSS, comfortably giving over 60FPS even at Ultra settings with a low-end GPU like RTX 3050.
Undoubtedly, this game Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection has been very well optimized with NVIDIA GPUs and whether you own an entry-level card or a flagship you will surely enjoy it. Buy this Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves Collection: https://amzn.to/3ErTdbD
Benchmarks for Intel’s Core i5-13500 Raptor Lake CPU were leaked, revealing a significant multi-threading boost over its predecessor. The benchmarks were obtained by Bilibili content maker, 歪嘴多迪, who obtained ES samples of the Intel Core i5-13500 and Core i5-13400 ahead of their introduction next month.
The Raptor Lake portfolio will include Intel’s Core i5-13500 CPU, which has 6 Performance Cores and 8 Efficiency Cores for a total of 14 cores and 20 threads. This is the same number of threads as the Intel Core i7-12700K, however, the Alder Lake CPU has more Performance Cores. The chip also includes 24 MB of L3 cache and 11.5 MB of L2 cache.
The Intel Core i5-13500 CPU maintains clock speeds of 4.4 GHz all-core and up to 4.9 GHz single-core for the P-Cores, while the E-cores run at 3.3 GHz base and 3.4 GHz peak frequencies. According to previously reported specifications, the processor will have a base speed of 2.5 GHz and a boost clock of 4.8 GHz.

The Intel Core i5-13500 Raptor Lake Desktop CPU was tested on an ONDA B660M motherboard with a pair of DDR4-3600 memory modules, but owing to a BIOS error, the CPU could only use DDR4-3200 speeds. The CPU has a 65W PL1 TDP and should jump to more than 125W at its maximum power profile.
The Intel Core i5-13500 CPU appears to be a beast of a budget chip in terms of performance.
In multi-threaded workloads, it provides over 50% performance benefits in both the CPU-z and Cinebench R23 evaluations. In single-core benchmarks, the chip provides a 7-10% boost, which is impressive given that the CPU will cost almost the same as its predecessor.
credit: tomshardware
The Intel Core i5-13500 Raptor Lake CPU seemed to settle around 69-72C while using a dual-tower heatsink with a single-sided fan. The maximum power usage was 165W, but only when the Furmark CPU stress test was utilised. Power consumption in gaming workloads will be about 100W or even lower. There’s also a problem in AIDA64 that shows the chip hovering about 111C, yet the chip never throttled and all cores were running at significantly lower temps. Given the chip’s ES2 design, such flaws are to be expected.
Because customers would be able to run the chip on any LGA 1700 socketed motherboard with both DDR5 and DDR4 support, it is expected to become one of the most popular gaming chips and a very competitive chip in the sub-$250 US pricing category. We recently mentioned in our exclusive that the Intel B760 motherboards and Non-K 13th Gen CPUs will be available at CES 2023 on January 3rd, so stay tuned for additional details.
Netflix has unveiled the new trailer for the fourth installment of the true crime documentary series, ‘Beast of Bangalore‘. The Streamer’s Indian Predator show tells the story of a “freak” killer of women whose crimes have “sent shock waves” along with the Indian state of Karnataka. The series will be got in the Kannada language with bits of English.
As the last three entries in the Indian Predator series, Beast of Bangalore has appeared with such heavily dramatic recreations as this is something in the series has got criticism for. Additionally, Netflix has mandated the three-episode length.
More than the visuals of the faceless man about the tailing innocent victims as said, “The practice of installing grills on main doors started only after this story came out. Bangalore suddenly started looking very dangerous.”
It has been exposed as the new trailer expos, “wore lingeries to bed.” another person tells, “his criminal mind would always be working.” The story of the show revolves around Umesh Reddy’s case. He is a former police officer, Reddy operated in the ’90s, and in 2009, the conviction with nine murder cases getting upheld via the Supreme court. The new reports have confirmed that he is on death row.
In the trailer, Reddy has alternately described as a “beast” and an “animal”. In this one person says, “This was an act of a person with demonic tendencies,” as we can watch a recreation with the lone man riding the bicycle in the dead of the night.
This Beast of Bangalore is the second Netflix true-crime show getting set in Bengaluru after the last year’s Crime Stories: India Detectives with a Cops show that has followed local law enforcement on different cases in the city of Bengaluru. Netflix is actively trying to extend its true-crime slate in India and has so far dropped three entries in the Indian Predator show like House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths that revolved around the mass suicide of a family in New Delhi.
The Indian predator has been described as a “thrilling and suspenseful docuseries with some of India’s deadliest killers. The first installment of Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi was dropped in July. The second Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial killer getting dropped in September, and the third, Indian Predator: murder in a Courtroom dropped in October.

BOE displayed a variety of new products under development at the World Display Industry Conference in China, including a 16-inch notebook display with a maximum refresh rate of 600Hz. At the time, details are scant, with BOE refusing to reveal the type of LCD panel utilised (TN, IPS, or VA) or its resolution.
BOE’s new panel offers a greater refresh rate than any consumer display currently on the market. Alienware debuted a handful of new gaming laptops with 480Hz displays earlier this year, while many other notebooks top out at “just” 360Hz. In terms of monitors, Asus and Nvidia announced a device capable of hitting 500Hz at Computex, although it appears that it is still not for sale.
The 600Hz display was demonstrated by BOE in an undisclosed notebook paired with an AMD Ryzen processor and an Nvidia RTX GPU. The screen is definitely intended towards competitive gamers who prefer games like CS:GO, Valorant, and Overwatch 2.
credit: tomshardware
Coincidentally, the latter’s frame rate was just increased to 600fps. Next-generation mobile GPUs should also make it easier to achieve such high framerates, particularly if customers are willing to drop the graphical settings.
It remains to be seen whether the pixel reaction times can keep up with such a high refresh rate, and, more importantly, whether users would detect any difference. By increasing the refresh rate of the screen from 60Hz to 120Hz, you can reduce the duration between displayed frames by around 8.3ms. Moving from 300Hz (3.3ms/frame) to 600Hz (1.6ms/frame) will only result in a 1.6ms improvement, about five times less, indicating a case of diminishing returns.
BOE also demonstrated an 86-inch Mini LED TV panel with a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits and 2,000 dimming zones at the same event. Foldable OLED panels made an appearance as well, including a 17-inch screen that is already used in some Asus notebooks, a panel that can fold both ways, and a Z-shaped tri-fold display.
