Season 5 keeps rolling, and Week 7’s challenges just went live with something different this time — not a barrel kit or an optic, but a full-on melee weapon. If you’re the type who loves getting up close and personal in Warzone, this week’s grind is worth your time.

What’s the Reward This Week?

The headline prize is the Mace — a heavy two-handed melee weapon built for blunt-force chaos. It hits hard, has a longer lunge distance than standard melee options, and outreaches most close-combat weapons in the game. The catch? Swing speed is slow, so timing matters more than button-mashing.

Black Ops 7 Week 7 Challenge Breakdown

Category	Challenges	XP on Completion
Multiplayer	6 tasks	Up to 10,000 XP each
Zombies	6 tasks	Up to 10,000 XP each
Endgame	6 tasks	Up to 10,000 XP each
Warzone	6 tasks	Up to 10,000 XP each

There are 24 challenges total, spread evenly across all four modes. You don’t need to complete them all — just any six to unlock the Mace, plus a bonus 10,000 XP. Finish the full set of 24, and you’ll walk away with a total of 98,000 XP.

Fastest Way to Unlock the Mace

Mix and match challenges across modes instead of grinding just one. Since Warzone tends to have faster-paced objective tasks (like ground-loot eliminations or Bounty Contracts), pairing a couple of those with a few Multiplayer or Zombies tasks usually gets you to six completions the quickest.

If you’re also chasing weapon-specific unlocks this season, it’s worth checking how to unlock the FANG HoverPoint ELO optic or the MPC-25 ContraBloom Laser guide — both follow the same weekly-challenge structure, so the grind overlaps nicely.

A Quick Word on Warzone Itself

For newer players still learning the ropes, Warzone has evolved considerably since its 2020 launch, now tightly integrated with each new Call of Duty title’s seasonal content — which is exactly why these weekly challenge drops matter so much for staying competitive.

Why Bother With Week 7?

Melee weapons are rare rewards in Call of Duty’s weekly challenge cycle, and the Mace’s reach advantage makes it genuinely useful in tight Warzone encounters, not just a novelty. If nothing else, it’s a fun change of pace from another gun blueprint.
