Summer’s not slowing down, and neither is Call of Duty. The Season 05 Reloaded update for Black Ops 7 and Warzone drops on August 20, bringing the grand finale of the Zombies storyline, a wild pinball-themed multiplayer map, and one last free-to-play window for Endgame before it locks behind a purchase. Here’s everything worth knowing before the update goes live.
The Big Ticket Item: Rex Infernus
Zombies fans have been building toward this moment all season. Rex Infernus is the final Round-Based Zombies map of the Black Ops 7 storyline, closing out the fight against the Warden as the crew races to save reality itself. Expect new threats like the fast-swarming Deathspinners and the terrifying Web Mother, plus a new Perk-a-Cola (Widow’s Wine), a Pack-a-Punch-boosting GobbleGum, and two Ultra-Rarity legacy weapons hidden in the Mystery Box.

Multiplayer Gets a Playful Twist
The standout new addition is Turbo Tilt, a small 6v6/2v2 map that reimagines the iconic Nuketown map as a giant pinball machine — complete with flippers, bumpers, and a rising mushroom cloud centerpiece. It’s a fun, chaotic homage that leans into close-quarters combat. Alongside it, Freerun: Descent adds a second obstacle course testing pure movement skill across seven escalating zones, with rewards for speed and precision. Cranked Moshpit also returns for players who like their matches high-stakes and high-speed.

Warzone Players Get Their Own Reasons to Log In
Battle royale fans will see Black Ops Royale make a comeback — a Blackout-inspired mode with no loadouts, no Gulag, and no buy stations, forcing pure scavenge-and-survive gameplay. Loaded Resurgence also joins as a weekend limited-time mode, letting players drop with custom loadouts equipped from the jump. New features like the Quickdrop Kit and Special Delivery Drones add extra layers of strategy and reward-chasing throughout the season.
Last Call for Free Endgame Access
If you’ve been playing Endgame without owning Black Ops 7, this is your final stretch. Once Season 06 begins, Endgame will only be accessible to players who own the full game — so squad up and knock out those co-op Operations while it’s still free.
