What’s New in Multiplayer

Season 04 expands the Multiplayer map pool with a mix of brand-new and returning favourites. Liminal is a new small-sized map where the centre actively changes mid-match — stay alert or get caught out. Primetime throws players into a Japanese game show obstacle course in a chaotic new 6v6 setting. Vertigo, first introduced in Black Ops 2, returns fully remastered.

Mid-season brings even more — Zenith, a luxurious cliffside estate with waterfall views, and the fan-favourite Launch map from the original Black Ops, also fully remastered.

New modes include Black Ops Classic (a throwback gameplay mode), the returning Blueprint Gun Game, and 6v6 Gunfight.

Warzone: Fortune’s Keep Is Back

Fortune’s Keep returns to Warzone with refreshed micro points of interest and modified layouts, alongside the new Rogue Run Zombies mode set on Ashes of the Damned. Mid-season also brings back Champion’s Quest and Act IV: Operation King Killer. Sknr

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat Season 04 — The Crackdown Is Real

This is the update the community has been waiting for. Season 04’s RICOCHET update introduces Reduced Matchmaking for Failed Attestation — players who don’t meet TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements are placed into separate matchmaking pools, limited to Nuketown 24/7 in Black Ops 7 and Battle Royale Casual in Warzone.

The crackdown on cheating hardware is also producing results. Nearly two-thirds of players temporarily banned for using unauthorized input devices like Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix changed their behaviour after enforcement, returning to Black Ops 7 without the scripts that got them banned.

These updates are designed to make it harder for bad actors to play Call of Duty while protecting fair play for everyone else — and Activision has confirmed detections will continue to evolve throughout Season 04 and beyond. Call of Duty
