‘Between Steps’ New Stills: Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun’s Quiet Chemistry Hints at a Tender New Romance

A late director’s final love story is already tugging at hearts before it even premieres. New stills from Between Steps show Choo Young Woo and Kim So Hyun sharing quiet, intimate moments that suggest their characters’ bond runs far deeper than first glances.

What The Drama Is About

Between Steps is helmed by the late director Ahn Pan Seok, known for hits like Something in the Rain and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. The story follows Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), a former swimmer who lost his right leg to illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), a graduate student rediscovering her direction in life after losing her way.

Between Steps: Overview

The Chemistry Behind the New Stills

In one still, the pair sit side-by-side at a bus stop, exchanging warm glances as Im Yoo Jin holds Park Min Jae’s hand with visible excitement. Another image captures a quieter, more charged moment in a dark alleyway, where she grips his sleeve while he watches her steadily, their close proximity hinting at unspoken feelings beginning to surface. The understated intimacy across both scenes signals a slow-burn romance built more on emotional connection than dramatic gestures — a hallmark of director Ahn Pan Seok’s previous acclaimed work.
