Beef Season 2 Is Here — And the New Cast Is Absolutely Jaw-Dropping!

Three years. That’s how long fans have waited since Lee Sung Jin’s road-rage-turned-obsessive-rivalry masterpiece swept every award in sight. Beef Season 1 won eight Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited Series — and now, on April 16, 2026, Netflix is serving up a fresh, entirely new story with one of the most stacked casts assembled for a streaming series in recent memory.

This isn’t a continuation. It’s a whole new beef. And it looks magnificent.

Beef Season 2 — Overview

What’s the New Story of Beef S2?

Season 2 centres on Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton) — a newly engaged Gen-Z couple working at an exclusive country club — who witness an explosive fight between their Millennial General Manager Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac) and his wife Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan).

What follows is a layered, darkly comic spiral of favours, coercion, power plays, and class tension, all orbiting the wealthy and formidable Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who is managing her own brewing personal scandal. It’s the kind of messy, deeply human drama that only Beef could pull off — tense, funny, and uncomfortably real all at once.

As a genre, anthology television at its finest lets every season feel completely fresh, and Beef is proving exactly why the format works so brilliantly.

Why This Cast Is a Big Deal

Every single lead is operating at the height of their powers right now. Oscar Isaac brings gravity from his work in Dune and Star Wars. Carey Mulligan recently earned an Oscar nomination for Maestro. Cailee Spaeny had a breakout run with Alien: Romulus and Priscilla. And Youn Yuh-jung is a literal Academy Award winner for Minari.

That’s the kind of ensemble that makes you sit forward in your seat from the opening scene — every performance is going to matter.

Season 2 was filmed over four months, wrapping in May 2025, so it has been through an extensive post-production polish. Carey Mulligan, during filming, described it as “still Lee Sung Jin being brilliant” — which, honestly, is all we needed to hear.
