Why This Opening Matters
If Awarapan 2 hits its projected numbers, it will surpass the entire lifetime collection of the original 2007 Awarapan on day one itself — a rare feat for any Hindi film sequel. That kind of opening-day jump from a franchise’s first installment to its follow-up doesn’t happen often, and it signals genuine audience anticipation for Hashmi’s return to the intense, romantic-drama space that first made him a star.
The film does face some competition at the box office from Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, but based on current advance trends, the clash appears heavily tilted in Awarapan 2‘s favor.
What to Expect on Release Day
With strong advance sales already locked in and word-of-mouth expected to build through the weekend, industry trackers are keeping a close eye on whether Awarapan 2 can maintain momentum beyond opening day. A strong hold through the first week could push it into a defining comeback vehicle for Hashmi.
