ASUS ROG RYUJIN II 360 AIO Liquid Cooler review: A must for high-end gamers

Are you looking to make a high-end PC build? Want a flagship AIO Liquid cooler? ASUS has made gaming equipment and accessories the best money can buy you its ROG lineup. So, apart from the high quality of these products, you can quickly expect them to be a bit expensive but will have one cool thing that will make them a standout feature.

So, as you easily might have guessed, the ASUS ROG RYUJIN II 360 AIO Liquid Cooler is one of its kind and because of it has an astounding price tag of ₹24,999. Well, on paper, if you see, that might make you crazy to spend such a ransome amount of money on a 360mm AIO liquid cooler, but if you are a gamer, you will know why it’s so expensive.

While most other 360mm AIO Liquid Coolers will cost you around Rs.10k (non-fancy ones), others with boatloads of ARGB will cost you a maximum of Rs.20k if it’s from NZXT. Now, getting to know this, you will realize why ASUS is charging more but giving you that standout feature of a 3.5-inch LCD Screen that looks darn cool.

However, don’t stay with the fact that this display is the only thing to buy because in terms of performance, this expensive ROG RYUJIN II 360 AIO Liquid Cooler performs very well. It quickly tames the Core i9-12900K we reviewed recently and kept temps manageable under normal circumstances.

The Cooler itself

When you receive the box of this Liquid AIO cooler, you will be amazed to see how big and heavy it is thanks to that vast AIO pump, the display on top of it, the massive radiator, along with those three Noctua fans. The packaging is very fancy, and everything is impeccable and clean, with all the accessories and screws appropriately packed.

The AIO is on the heavier side, especially the bock that will sit on the top of the CPU, and you have the 3.5-inch display atop the liquid and pump combo block. The mounting screws are given, and if you are familiar with installing a liquid AIO, you will find this very easy.

The LGA 1700 socket bracket is provided already to reduce your hassle, and it was pretty easy mounting the liquid block onto the motherboard. The radiator is a standard 360mm sized one and easily sits on the top half of the case; those Noctua iPPC 2000 PWM 120mm radiator fans are very efficient and silent, even running at full load.

This Rs.25k Liquid AIO from ASUS also provides you with an RGB controller hub, which will act as a controller to control all the RGB lights via the AURA Sync app.

The Front LCD Display

This 3.5-inch display is very tiny yet significantly useful as you can display either the default ASUS ROG animation or anything personalized you want to flaunt. Else you can also have a quick look at the thermals of the device by showing the real-time system stats on display, which indeed looks darn cool.

Getting a big display on top of the CPU adds to any high-end PC build’s, and obviously, this is one of the key USPs to buy this Liquid AIO cooler for.

Performance

The ASUS ROG RYUJIN II 360 AIO Liquid Cooler is indeed a massive block, and you will need a full-size cabinet to fit this; there’s also an integrated fan inside the liquid block to create more airflow. The more the surface area, the better is the cooling, and so if you want to use an overkill CPU like Ryzen 9 5950X or a Core i9-12900K, then this is the perfect AIO liquid cooler you should opt for.

We did use this with the new powerful Core i9-12900K processor, and seeing the thermals, and you can easily guess the 7th Gen Asetek pump (800-2800 RPM) does make a difference. When idle and doing regular tasks, the Intel Core i9-12900K the temps hovered around 30 degree celsius and during gaming the temps hovered approximately 50 degrees.

However, when you stress the CPU for hours, the temps will go up but never cross the 80 degrees mark, which is a good sign when using such a powerful CPU like Core i9-12900K. Now, if you want to improve the thermals further or customize your own AIO liquid cooler, use the ASUS Armory Crate suite software.

Verdict

The ASUS ROG RYUJIN II 360 AIO Liquid Cooler is a premium option undoubtedly with standout features and acts as a phenomenal liquid cooling solution. However, with an Rs.25k price tag, it’s not the most affordable, but if you want the best liquid cooling solution and do not care about price, this is it.

It is not ideal for those who need a budget AIO cooler or those looking to make budget PC builds. Though the main water and pump combo make some noise when used extensively, its cooling is outstanding even if you overclock a beast-like Core i9-12900K.

While there are a lot of 360mm AIO liquid coolers, ASUS ROG is a brand that has made its mark for itself and justifies the premium pricing. If you are a gamer or productivity user who needs an excellent CPU and maximum gaming FPS, you should get this cooler. If you are an enthusiast who wants to flaunt that ROG logo on top of the display, you want the overall experience.
