If you’ve been waiting for someone to just come out and confirm whether Akshay Kumar is actually joining the Golmaal madness, Arshad Warsi just did it — accidentally, and in the most Arshad Warsi way possible. In an exclusive chat, the beloved Circuit of Bollywood dropped a hint so obvious it barely qualifies as a hint anymore.

What Arshad Warsi Actually Said — and What It Means

Warsi was heaping praise on Akshay Kumar when he casually revealed they’re teaming up for another film after Welcome to the Jungle. His words: “We are doing another film together. Abhi kaam shuru hoga. Badi mazeydaar film hai. Let’s see. It will be announced now.” The timing, context, and tone point squarely at Golmaal 5 — Rohit Shetty’s most anticipated comic caper, which has been building buzz for months.

Earlier, Variety India had reported that Akshay Kumar would be playing the main antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn in the film — a casting twist that, if true, would be one of Bollywood’s most exciting on-screen rivalries in years.

The Ajay-Akshay Dynamic Is the Real Story Here

Think about what this casting actually means. Ajay Devgn, who has headlined every Golmaal film, going up against Akshay Kumar — his longtime friend, frequent collaborator, and box office contemporary — in a Rohit Shetty comedy? That’s not just a casting choice, it’s an event. The kind of pairing that fills multiplexes across the country on opening day regardless of anything else. For fans of Bollywood entertainment news, this is about as exciting as it gets in 2026.

Rohit Shetty’s team had earlier clarified the film is not a remake of Do Aur Do Paanch, making clear this is an original story within the beloved franchise.

Asur Season 3 Is Coming — But Don’t Hold Your Breath Just Yet

In the same interview, Warsi also gave fans of the JioCinema psychological crime thriller some welcome news. Asur Season 3 has been written. The research-intensive nature of the show means the writers needed time to do it right, but Warsi confirmed the scripts are locked and “hopefully we will start shooting soon.” He plays the fan-favourite Dhananjay Rajpoot (DJ) in the series.
